Just a thought and I am thinking out loud.
With the exception of a goalkeeping loanee who almost certainly will get in the team, why would anyone let one of their players come here on loan if they are just going to sit on the bench.
Would you as say a Championship player or League 1 player want to come here and warm the bench when you can do that close to home as lets be honest DC isn't one for throwing a player straight into the starting line up |

You are right if they are quality. Lines, LDV, Chapman and Nicholls all straight in weren't they? Those that weren't straight in weren't quality maybe?

Depends on a lot of things, who is paying, is the Manager trying to get a reaction, is the guy coming in better and ready to go straight in to the team etc,

In this clubs position what is the point of signing a player on loan if he is not capable of going straight into the team? the truth is that unless you are one of DC's favourites you don't get a run of games to impress..it is one game and if you don't perform it is out again. The same is the case for having wingers if they don't perform straight away then it is back to wingless wonders, DC is very black and white and ruthless unless it is his favourites. Up until now it has worked well but IMO the difference now is that teams have sussed us out as we are so predictable.They all know that we are not going to pressurise their defenders neither are we going to compress the game. Every team who have pressurised us have beaten us.

Problem is if DC was playing loan signings like Monakara who was no better than Gosling or Montano the same posters would be saying why is DC favouring loanees over own players, DC's shown with the likes of Cunnington, LDV, Dawson & even Lines he's prepared to give loanees games.
The big question is what do the OP and SteveK hope to gain by continually sniping at DC, get him sacked? Then what, the return to likes of JW/MM & PB? The vastly more experienced Martin Allen is showing that Div 2 is a big step up from the Conference.

Nothing Topper Gas other than giving a view on our Football Club matters which i thought was the whole idea of a forum or should we just bow to the great DC and praise everything he does? Fair enough if you disagree that's your prorogative.If you think losin g to Accrington at home is satisfactory with very few shots on target then fine.Certainly have said nothing to say I want him sacked because it couldn't be further from the truth. i just give an opinion on how I see the games and the players. I give praise for the Manager and players when IMO it is deserved but critical when I feel its justified. Sorry for having an opinion.

Problem is posters are not really commenting on yesterday's performance on these types of threads but just getting personal with DC, there were no issues with supposed favouritism last season or poster worrying about loan players not starting, surely if they was an issue they wouldn't be the great team spirit everybody says the present squad has? If we avoid defeat on Saturday all these threads will disappear only to resurrected if we lose to Pompey. |

I think what people forget is that the loan players come in and play in training, so if DC does not see that they are any good in training then he's not going to put them into a game which should be considered a lot harder than a training session. So in short these players may not be doing anything impressive in training to make DC want to put them into the main side.

Every team who have pressurised us have beaten us. your arguing for a style of play as if that is the only style that can produce winning teams,,,birmingham didnt play a high pressure game and chelsea seldom do,,,and you can bet some of the teams that do well in our league wont play a high line pressure game not saying theres anything wrong with adopting that approach but its not how our manager sets up his team |

Our midfield if playing too deep can't get far enough forward quick enough to support our strikers. If you play the way we play then we will only beat the poorer teams especially as our two forwards whichever is selected do not have the physique to hold on to the ball.

1973, The thing which really worried me against Accrington was that they had no player who was any better than our players but the difference was that they were quite willing to push people forward whereas we were not.All our football is being played in out own half and when we are pressurised we just look completely void of any ideas and our moves are so predictable. We have so far beaten three poor sides and lost to 3 reasonable sides and one good side on the day.Three defeats on the trot with no goals is worrying any time but even worse when you are not creating that many chances. I agree that DC is unlikely to play my style as he is stubborn in many ways and as I have said many times we have now gone too far the other way..whereas we used to pay ridiculous wages for very ordinary players we now pay too little to sign any player of any repute.I still think if we bring in a winger and a striker we will do OK and I am still hoping Montano,Bodin and Easter will all do well if persevered with. I remain unsure if Ollie Clarke, Matty taylor or Ellis Harrison are good enough and the same with Gosling but playing the way we are is not going to get the best out of any forward. Personally if I was a forward I would not want to play in DC's system up front.
