Who the hell would not jump at the chance of off loading a bunch of people who at every chance blame you for anything. I for one am not very sure any new consortium will give a tinkers about us or anything Bristol Rovers.

It won't.
It may actually consign him to being a terrible villain if it transpires that someone else was willing to pay for the ground and BRFC could have retained full ownership.

It may actually consign him to being a terrible villain if it transpires that someone else was willing to pay for the ground and BRFC could have retained full ownership. Maybe so, or he could be doing the best he can for BRFC. Nobody knows and I will be the first to have a go if he is selling us down the river but I wont do it on hearsay and rumour. |

People cope with bad news in different ways. Have you heard something then...?!! I would suggest JTSs optimistic post first thing this morning was something to get my hopes up yes. I would also say that his later post saying he'd jumped the gun a little was cause for disappointment. I have been up and down like Weston donkeys on this thread like many others. Since day 1 this thread has been full of sh**. Some would say it's from the naked men with guns and some would say it's from the ITKs! One thing that has remained is my belief that among others JTS has posted good reliable information that at all times he has good reason to believe to be wholly accurate. The reason there is so much crap here is because basically other than a couple of people no one knows anything. And some would say even they know nothing. You could make a case that my naked fat man has brought as much value and insight into this subject as much as 99% of the other posts on this thread. It's been a weird thread and has largely gone unmodderated. There are many arguments and accusations and a lot of childish bollocks yet most of us seem to check in daily if only to report there is nothing to report. As such ALL posts provide an interesting view. It's fun, stupid, annoying, exciting, self depreciating, irreverent, passionate, clever, insightful, argumentative, childish and informative. In many ways this thread shows what it's like to be a gashead, laid bare in all its terrible glory. And every one of us here cares. |

Higgs is relying on winning £30 mill off Sainsburys, then if he does he will bring in 2 or 3 "investors" each of whom cough up £5 million to pay for the build.
Plan B could be: 1) Part ownwership and rent. (2) Just rent and the sale of the Mem for housing pays off our debt or (3)To sell to a consortium. Whatever we wont know for at least a month.

This post sums it up just perfectly for me, this is only my 2nd post on the whole thread, but I check in every single day, several times a day, does this make me mad, desperate or just another naked fat man with guns, not too sure myself, what I do know is that I fecking hope something happens this year. |

If a deal has been done it is not with the consortium i know of and would probably mean either a new investor has been found or we are going into some sort of partnership with UWE and/or another party to fund the stadium build. I would think this means NH and the current board want to remain in control of BRFC and see it through - the question is will it be the best deal for the football clubs future? (not judging either way by the way) It would also mean that this scenario is the fabled "Plan B" which is ready for 'if' NH loses the impending court case, very interesting times coming up for our club thats for sure. both exciting and worrying at the same time. Lets hope any Permanent decisions are being made for the right reasons for the club and no other reason - UTG We've gone from excitement in the morning to a potential scenario that people should be very concerned about where we move into a position where we aren't masters of our own destiny (sound familiar?). Are the consortium still in a negotiating position? I presume they are aware of an alternative plan being constructed, they need to present themselves and their plans for the club to the fanbase. |

I'm neither a member of the ITK's, or a member of the group that are very obviously jealous of the so called ITK's. Gotta say spot on LP! I personally (just opinion) think we will only ever move forward liked we all dream off in UWE with SUBSTANTIAL investment which leans me to the 50 million plus on offer from the consortium* I thought a deal may have been on the way and was pretty chipper earlier but now if i'm honest i am like my good friend Hugo very worried in fact sh**ting myself! I honestly think the next few months will determine our future for decades and i so want us to move on from the 'ragbag' tag cause personally i'm sick of it. I repeat i have no bad feelings toward our board, am i doubtful they can take us forward? Well on track record - yes (sadly) That aside i think the Consortium* should be more upfront and i personally think they are dragging their feet and should basically put up or shut up (oops there goes my info! ha ha). My plea to our board/interested parties would be this:
"You ought to know the lifeline of a club is its supporters and so many of us care so much its bloody unhealthy - So please, please tell us whats happening or you will alienate the very people you need most!"The next few months could be the biggest for us in a long, long time. I think we all need to cross our fingers that our wonderful, long suffering club and fans are put first above ALL else - UTG! |
