I really don't get this Chris Lines stuff As Holloway always rightly says, you need piano movers and piano players. He was told to win it and give it to someone who could do something with it. A good centre mid partnership needs the diversity of the dog and the artist You will be hard pressed to find a better play maker in this division than Chris Lines. He can't be that good. Using your analogy he is playing the piano from the audience which woukd suggest we have found both the dog and the artist and he is a paying customer. Maybe he was the piano player at the local fete (non league) but a move up to the Local theatre i(league 2) has exposed his weakness.

I was really struck by his quality last season. So far, from what I've seen, he hasn't been as good this term. It may be that he was too good for the Conference but now he's about where he belongs as an average player, or it may be that he's just a bit off form. Time will tell.
I get the impression he's not as far forward as he was last year. Tidying up and hitting high-risk long balls through the air is not as damaging as getting into the opposition half and sliding passes on the ground, and that's what's changed IMO, but I haven't seen all the games, as some have.

He's not really appeared alongisde Mansell yet ( was that just a false rumour they'd had a bust up?) so perhaps his role has changed, looking at the Wycombe highlights I noticed one of their chances came from him failing to get a tackle/block in on one of there attacking midfielder's runs, it seems that's just not part of his game.
