Listening to Nick tonight and reading the info in the public domain i don't think this will really have a huge bearing on us in the grand scale of things if at all - UTG Were you similarly relaxed about our new ground when NH said the contract was "watertight" if the Sainsbury;s plans fall though I can see this really causing problems if we have to go down the route of seeking new plans/selling the ground, if not Radice wouldn't have bothered getting it, she's a crafty c0w if nothing else.

They might be hated, but they are pretty formidable foes. Knock 'em down, they rise again. Never surrender. I don't like what they are doing to us, but I have to admire their determination and skill. I suppose having a bunch of Green lawyers working for them for free helps a little. This might not be an entirely bad thing as it means that the mem cannot be sold from under us without supporters knowing.

You still wouldn't be able to stop it though unless you could afford to buy it.

Radish has done this for one reason: to stop any commercial development. However if Sainsburys had to buy it, then they would leave it derelict for a few years, then she'd be f**ked with all the complaints about it. On the other hand I think we have a good chance of challenging this. The ground was given to the Rugby Players of Bristol, and that it had free access. When the Rugby Club put a wall and started to charge, then that broke the original covenant. Point 2 is that if the whole ground is a Memorial who gave permission to build houses on it? I think if it went for housing then it would go through because NO council would dare to go against the government who without a doubt would over rule them.

Remember Eastville Stadium was sold almost overnight. 6 Months and 6 weeks is the Maxium delay that could occur If it is put down as sold/for sale the activator of the ACV has 6 weeks to say they want it and a further 6 months to prove they have funds etc - UTG

I guess the bigger isssue is Radish/BCC intend putting everything in the club's way to try and stop them developing the site w/o a fight, unless they deemed it suitable? That could well put off any prospective purchaser and may well lead to them offering a lower figure for the Mem?
Would you sooner buy a brown field site like Filton airport or the Mem site with all the planning hassles that's likely to bring?
