Mine was similar to that one. I had a canvas hood and frame that covered the back too. My first ever car and I would swap every other car I've had since to have it back. Tried tracking it down via DVLA or the new MOT app? Could still be alive.

I used to dream of having a Ford Capri, the first car I drove was a robin reliant, the rich mans wheelbarrow combined with the power of a clapped out dodgem.Funny as F##k to get about in but not good for your street cred.Went up market with a sky blue ford anglia next, took the rotor arm off every night so it didn't get nicked. Ford Anglia......Rotor Arm removal........ha, ha....we must be of a similar age Aye,I was sporting the feather cut and crombie combo back in those weird and wonderful days.Car security has come a long way since then.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geynA-JYDHEhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geynA-JYDHE

If I had to name a sound of the 70s it wouldn't be Led Zeppelin, Slade or the Sex Pistols.
It would be people trying to start their car in the morning.

Can you remember having to put the spark plugs in the oven on a cold morning to warm them up? Adjusting the gap on the spark plugs with a bit of cardboard ripped from a cigarette packet, because it was the correct width needed?

Used to cut the finger tips off a marrigold glove as well to make a waterproof cover for the dizzy to stop minis from cutting out in the rain. Always carried a spare dizzy cap, rotor arm and set of points in every car I had with an A-series engine. Setting the points was always a bit hit and miss when you were out on the road but I could almost always make it home!

And to think these days the car goes in to have the heated steering wheel repaired. I blame the Japs.

About six weeks ago my battery went flat. First time I've had that happen in about 20 years, so I opened the bonnet thinking I just have to pop down the road to buy a new one and pop it in...........what a fool I was. After about 10 minutes, I still couldn't even find the bloody battery ! Eventually I managed to get the car into the local equivalent of Kwik Fit, whereupon they replaced the battery, but that wasn't such an easy job. I watched as they had to ensure there was a power connection to the car independent of the battery while they replaced it!
