Yesterday I thought that he looked as if his confidence has returned.
He didn't have much to do but he Is no longer routed to his line in the way that he was when things were not good. His indecisiveness had led to the defence losing confidence in him but that is no longer the case.
His distribution was good yesterday as he has stopped the long ball everytime and some of his quick throw outs set us on the attack
Clean sheets in his last 3 games suggests that maybe he is the solution to our goalkeeping problem

I said this to my mate I was stood with, he hasn't put a foot wrong in the games that he's been back between the sticks, mind you he hasn't had much to do, they didn't have 1 shot on target yesterday but that's not to take anything away from him, I was strictly in the camp that didn't want him back in goal as I thought he was too old and slow but he's making me change my mind, if he carries on like this do we need to go out and spend money on a replacement?

I doubt yesterday's or even Boxing Day's games were games where we can judge Milders as our defence has been outstanding in both games meaning he only had the one save to make. I still can't understand what DC meant when he suggested he needed a different type of goalie as I can't see Nicholls was that much different with his distribution etc, or did he just mean a cheaper one? If so, that won't of change anyway?

Did you go to Wimbledon? Defenders shouting like hell at him on a couple of occasions to come for the ball, and he didn't budge. That said, you can't really judge him as yet, as he has had such a good defence in front of him.

Keeper and back line are a unit, in some passages of play, the back line will be positioned properly and the right side of their marker because the keeper has the best view in the house and us barking orders.
Watch Mildy. It's one thing he does very well

No, didn't make it to Wimbledon, but agree with you that you can't really judge him yet because of the solid defence in front of him, but if he/they keep on with the clean sheets then surely he's part of the reason they are keeping clean sheets and it can't be solely because of the defence.

It's one thing he does very well I did notice this yesterday, him marshalling the defence as a 'keeper should, also noticed him telling every ballboy to slow down when picking up and giving the ball back for goal kicks and throw ins.

Wasn't sure after the Orient game and I thought he has an OK game there and got a lot of praise which was perhaps a bit OTT as he still looked shaky to me.
Yesterday however, I thought he was fantastic. I don't need Mildy to make save after save to prove himself to me, I know that that is one element of his game he is very good at and for a big man, will always make crucial saves especially 1 on 1's etc. So for me, it's all the other areas to his game. And his handling in wet conditions, organisation of the back 4 and very good distribution yesterday all stood out. Didn't put a foot wrong and has gone a long way to winning me round despite having not very much to do.
Keep it up Mildy!

His distribution looked better yesterday but I could have looked good in goal against Luton, they were awful.

But wasn't he dropped last season after his horror shows against Eastleigh & Halifax(?) then again for more gaols he conceded in game earlier this season not for any other obvious reasons? Until he plays against some better opposition I can't see how we can judge me, although the signs are at present that he's got his old confidence back, if he has those that free up more of the playing budget for outfield players this January?

Given solid defensive unit, doubt GK is priority now. But if Puddy still injured we do lack options which must make DC nervous and there is the longer term to fix. If nothing else, this may help Mildy make a move by proving he's still got it, but I'd like to see him stay

I can't honestly see Mildenhall leaving now until next summer whether he stays our No 1 or not as I can't see him beating the contract he's got with us. As far as far the long term surely DC can sort that out in the summer, as by then he could well be looking at needing a Div 1 goalie.

But could you have taken the high crossesinto the box that Mildenhall did,if not then they would have had an opportunity of shots on target then where would you be?
