Yes, I agree with your last line Hugo. Not sure why that prevents us from taking the p1ss out of them. In fact I can't believe we're even having this conversation.
If supporters of any club let 'double standards' get in the way of posting banter about their rivals then virtually nothing would ever get posted. I mean the minute this Briz Red flog starts picking teds up on OTIB for posting crap about Rovers then that's the minute he's welcome to come over here and start preaching to me. Until then he can stick it where the sun don't shine as far as I'm concerned, valid point or not.
Anyway, maybe you could get the soap back off him next time you see him Hugo.

Sadly it's football, we all have a share of people who do wrong, I think what upsets people is that the Teds have a lot more wrong doers who do far worse but seem to get away with it more often. That's life people. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Brilliant! You see the word 'arrests' then trawl our forum to deflect the attention onto City fans in a thread about possible arrests of your fans... No arrests at the Hawthorns from what I could see where we were beating a prem side 1-2 until 5 seconds from time. Cracking performance in an otherwise dismal and horrible season. And we've got the glamour of The Posh at home if a miracle happens and we dispatch WBA in the replay... Oh, and we took over 8,000 fans in total to our last two away games, not too shabby for a 'rubbish club' ? I don't wanna antagonise, upset or wind up anyone, I'd like decent footy debates about our under achieving sides, but to immediately highlight possible arrests of City fans in a thread about possible arrests of Rovers fans is a bit cheap... Just 8000? We're taking 15,000 to Oxford.

I don't disagree with anything you've written and Briz Red would do well to point out the failings in his own fans first. Much like I'm doing. Ted's are always fair game, I was just making a point I guess. Oh, and everyone knows Teds don't use soap. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

Where should you be? Battling out a 4 4 draw at the ethiad, wake up pal you are where you are cause of pantsdowns money,we are where we are cause we haven't got any but I bet our fans are a lot happier than yours Actually you make a good point there, your fans do seem happier than ours. I work with a few and know others socially and City fans are definitely more 'wired' at the moment than Rovers fans I know! The majority of us are just so frustrated that we haven't built on the momentum of last season and most of us are in a bad mood most of the time! It's quite funny actually, because we are never going to win anything of note so why bother being moody about it!

Always been the same, people think cos they're in a stadium amongst thousands they can do and say as they wish without any consequences. Any old bill get involved and they're scum of the earth. Same as people spouting off online. Any of that stuff in the street gets you a cell for the night. But please can we all remember ACAB. Obviously. How about just STFU and behave like a grown up for once. The Filth do tend to go harder at football than they do on the streets , your more likely to get a whack in a football ground than you are on the streets by the law , how often do you see people getting whacked with sticks on the street compared to those in football grounds ,remember the filth are more likely to nick someone at football as it easier to get a conviction without proof of any wrongdoing ,just a way of fiddling the system and getting more crimes solved. Dont forget they are one of the most corrupt and untrustworthy gangs in the world , there aren't many who have not lied to either beef up a charge or get themselves and a colleague out of trouble. We should all remember A.C.A.B as it can really save your arse when they decide it's your turn, i wouldn't help one even if they were in need of urgent help

So the All Coppers... thing can't be true. But otoh, I would, as you advise, be very careful when coming across PC Random in the street. Especially in a football context.

Some of them can't wait to cuff people at football for almost nothing,a lot of times they make situations a lot worse Stewards are even worse they think they have real power for 90 mins a fortnight, about 5 yrs ago a spotty teenage steward asked me if I had been drinking?? And made a real fuss called another muppet over and they made wait outside the entrance for 10 mins...pathetic

I stand there and eat my pie or hot dog and watch the match. I have often gone to a pub before the game. At the end I walk back to my car or to the station. And in all that time, despite my aggressive attitude, I have never been arrested, manhandled, insulted or beaten up by the filth. I have, however, seen many, many aggressive fans looking for trouble and getting it, and then complaining when they get the treatment they've so obviously been inciting.

The boys in blue having their integrity questioned! I have witnessed many times coppers who are probably trying to justify their presence/overtime,get physical for what looks to me as very minor or no actual threat from football supporters.A particularly favourite scenario of theirs seems to be the 4 foot nowt wpc getting mouthy with fans for f'all, with her male colleagues itching to wade in as her personal security, and is one I've seen played out on half a dozen occasions,a well practiced drill being incited and played out Imo. A crowd of people getting a bit noisy/rowdy in or around a football stadium undoubtedly suffer a far harsher response than a crowd of people out on the town.

However I would invite you to nominate one profession that DOESN'T have a few bad apples. In other words there will always be a few Police Officers who overstep their authority; solicitors who defend the obviously guilty, Doctors who cover up medical malpractice, warehouse operatives who thieve a few items from the stockroom when no-ones looking, a bus driver who pockets half the fare when his mate gets on the bus, etc. etc, etc., I'm sure you get the picture. To suggest, as you seem to be doing, that all Police Officers sieze every opportunity to beat the crap out of anyone they can at a football match, arrest without any evidence and then secure dodgy convictions - have you ever read the CPS guidance on weight of evidence to secure conviction before they will even support preferring a charge; do you even know what I'm talking about now? And perhaps you'll realise why I consider you to be a bit of an asshole. Finally, I wonder if anyone can take anything you write seriously when they read that crap you append your every post with.

I wonder if anyone who hadn't been drinking got arrested?
I can only speak from personal experience but I have never seen someone arrested at a football match who I didn't think deserved it.

Hugo, the voice of reason. If you don't go looking for it, it won't find you. Remember my post about Barnet and how some people almost carry a sign around asking to be arrested?

Police were wankers end of That's right, every single one of them at Barnet were complete and utter Wankers. Even the one I saw dealing with the mouthy bloke. He wasn't being a Wankers was he? Just a misunderstood, unfortunate soul with anger issues.

The police debate is pointless. Everyone has their own bad experience(s) which makes them think every copper is a Fool.
I just wish they'd stick to their 'values' and not call 999 and ask for their help when they need it.
Aghast sums up my views perfectly with regards to 'football cops'.
I've got many mates who police football games. They cant wait for the games to finish with as little disorder as possible. They are top, top people. Normal guys and gals. The comments about milking overtime are funny. Those days are long gone.
People don't realise the coppers you see at football are the same coppers you see in patrol cars and walking the streets. Yes, even the TVP coppers. The ones who gave me absolutely no issues at all last time we played there yet apparently gave so many such a hard time. Yes I was told to walk certain routes. I've got no issues being told what to do by authority, so I guess that's what makes me different from most of the anti-police posters on here.
These are normal cops and are asked to do football matches and kit up for the ones where there's a risk of disorder. When I say kit up, I mean protective uniform, which I remember seemed to offend so many on our last trip to Oxford. If they look intimidating or over the top, tough shìt, get over it. What on earth does it matter. They wear it for a reason. They've got families to go home to as well. One of my mates was policing a game, walking down the street after the game with his helmet off briefly, had a group come out of no-where and throw a brick at his face so he lost about 8 teeth.
inb4 he deserved it for being a copper because ACAB
Yes, there's some idiots who get a bit handy. But I've never had force used on me by a copper, and I know why.
