What ARE they talking about? "I am not normally one to blame the referee, but today he was cowardly and put in a truly terrible performance. Bristol are a horrible, horrible team. Their philosophy is to lump it into the box, to waste time and to block our players at any opportunity. Sadly, I could see that coming a mile off. The ref gave us nothing: if that was a penalty, we should have had had at least 1 ourselves (O'Dowda going down in the box was a pen, but I think he went down a bit dramatically: never gonna be given). Their time wasting was utter dog sh*te... booting the ball away at any given opportunity, the keeper holding on to the ball, mucking around at throw ins." Ofcourse Oxford have never time-wasted, have they.....? In the relegation year little things like this made the difference in my opinion. We constantly let ourselves get bullied. Unfortunately it is now often a major feature in today's game that referees don't manage very well. Personally I'm glad we are doing this effectively if it means we get results.

Taken from the Oxford forum: Rovers are such a niggly negative team. When they decided to play, they looked good but it was all too infrequent. I'm glad I don't have to watch that tripe week on week. If Rovers are talking Karma, then we're still owed for that shocking tackle that broke Potter's ankle that went unpunished... Read more: yellowsforum.co.uk/thread/22770/bristol-rovers-official-matchday-thread?page=8#ixzz3xWgsuji1They are all having a go at us now, you can tell they are not used to losing

What a tit!
I wasn't there- but not once did the radio make noises as to mildenhall taking anyone down...
Therefore how are there 'comparable' situations.
Ohhhh well....2-1!!!!

Some would say we found out how to beat Oxford, and adapted accordingly.
Barnet, awful away from home, beat Oxford at the Kassam playing the same counter-attacking style as we did. Wasn't pretty, rode our luck at times but on the other hand Taylor should have killed the game.
The result is huge, who cares about the performance.

Oxford fan here. Thought you had a good setup to stop is playing and kept Roofe quiet all game. Yes you are a niggly team and not as technically gifted as us but you worked hard and defended well.
I was sat literally right next to the penatly decision and our keeper won the ball cleanly but the Ref was absolutely diabolical (for both teams) that I'm not surprised he gave it.
Tiredness also played a part as our energetic and dynamic midfield weren't playing to their high standards and we tried too often to walk it into the net
Congrats on the 3 points, but as mentioned on our forum I'd be bored to death watching your team every week

Oxford are a good team this year. Earning headlines beating premier league teams. We did well today! We brought on two strikers away from home to go for the win- when many others would've shut up shop. Your manager didn't even play a striker... For 40 mins. That's a big negative at home.

We did a job away to a good team in form. Our midfield will out run and out battle pretty much every team in this league so that's no mistake either. We can win ugly sometimes. Job done.

[quote I'd be bored to death watching your team every week[/quote]
So on the basis on watching us at ONE away you think we play like that every game? So Oxford always play entertaining football at every away game I THINK NOT

Not bitter at all even if that's how I come across. The penalty decision is all that Im frustrated with. I still think we'll get promotion through the autos despite today's result.

Our manager out thought your manager. If yours had done his homework properly he'd have known how to beat us. Our manager knew that if we defended deep then it would limit your clear cut chances which it did. We let you have loads of the ball in your own half and around the half way line and you were very pretty with it but how many clear cut chances did you create ? A scrappy goal and a 30 yarder that our keeper tipped over. In the games we've lost at home this season we've usually been the more passing possession side but got hit on the break. It goes like that sometimes. Up the Gas.
