Shocking performance but I'm not surprised looking at the team sheet and formation. Mansel played on the left midfield in the first half and only DC knows why??!!! We were doing so well and looking so solid with 3 at the back against the better sides lately but it's all been ripped up since he brought Lawrence in to the side and we look dis jointed and confused with and without the ball. Not happy. Clueless team selection. Clueless tactics. and Taylor......

I had more hope than expectation today, Portsmouth played us off the park at home and it sounds like it was the same story. Bit of a reality check we need to improve if we are to make the playoffs and the automatics are practically out of reach now.

Disappointing result for such great away support, as ever. Northampton are out of sight now and I can't see Oxford or Plymouth being caught by anyone. But we're still right in contention for the playoffs despite only 1 point from the last 9. The bad form needs to stop now though. Gaffney is off the boil and Matty has stopped scoring. Easter seems permanently unfit. Bit worrying that. There are currently about 9 sides with realistic chances of 4 playoff slots, so it's going to be interesting. Bristol Rovers v Portsmouth for the wembley game then

Portsmouth 19 shots to our 6 and 9 corners to our none. We should at a minimum compete as Portsmouth have not been too good recently. We are wasteful in all areas of the Team with only a handful performing on a regular basis.

Yeh because that's why we reached the heights of 4th with over half the season played. Poor today and DC got the formation and tactics wrong but once again it's another end of the world performance as far as supporters are concerned.

The good times are far too short to moan about losing to one of the top teams in the league in a run where we seem to be playing them all.
Just keep enjoying the season we're having and stop acting like it's the end of the world.

We have just lost two games on the bounce to two good teams, get a bit of perspective on this and realize just how well we have done this season in a very competitive lg2.Win next week and we will be back in the mix,it's still only Feburary ffs, with 16 games still to play..

Let's be honest which of us wouldn't have started with 5 at the back in those 2 games? Whilst nobody is writing our season off on the back of 2 defeats, starting 4-4-2 in both games and also starting with Lawrence, who hardly seems to warrant a start, is all a bit odd. Plus upfront Taylor's loss his form, Easter's showing little signs of improving and Harrison has been loaned out/got injured.

Long way from the end of the world, but probably the end of our dream of automatic promotion and the playoffs look less of a certainty today than they did yesterday. Of course that could all change again with a couple of decent results, that's football.

3-0 suggests a lot more ! Leyton Orient beat them at Fratton last week. We wiped the floor with Orient. I guess Newport are a tad better than us aswell? Seeing as they spanked us at home? It means nothing. These results happen sometimes, still plenty of games left I agree completely with that, but the league positions mean nothing until the end of the season

Can't get my head around it.

Not happy. I have to say I'm a bit surprised by the fact that if he's fit, Lawrence plays. I didn't think DC was one for playing a favourite no matter what, but it seems to me 3-5-2 was the way to go today, keep it tight and hit on the break. Going for for an open game against a team with a huge home following and who are desperate to get back on track after some poor results seemed a bit suicidal to me. Still, I'm just a punter, so what do I know?

Guys & Gals. Pompey fan here in peace.
Your manager should be applauded for at least coming to have a go today. I know some of you maybe looking and asking why he did this after the event. However such is the top 3 in front coming to us and parking the Bus and hoping to catch on the break and if not settling for a point is not enough to get into top 3.
Your manager I felt had a go today because he realised a win would keep you in touch. He is/was not settling for a play-off position, nor should he.
I hope you get into the play-offs and what a day at Wembley it would be if we both get there. Certainly the record attendance for a L2 play -off final would be broken.
As well as we played today, we are unlikely to make top 3 as most teams come to us and park the bus and we are not good enough to consistently break those teams down. The very fact your manager went for it is really to be applauded, and the stats can sometime lie, in the first half it was a good a game as I have seen for sometime.
If I was being critical of your team today your back 4 looked shaky, your keeper however is very good. Lawrence ( who used to be our club captain) is either not fit or past his best. But your big lump at front looks a real handful.
Finally respect to your fans, the definition, for pompey fans of truly great support is in adversity. Loved how your lot broke into a loud rendition of Goodnight Irene when going 3-0 down. Proper support and please this is not meant to be arrogant. Too many so called fans of clubs do not understand. Yours do. Good luck for rest of the season unless we meet in play-offs.

Bad days at the office have happened too often for us to make a serious challenge unless we acquire consistency. Think Northampton, Accrington twice, Portsmouth twice, Crawley, Barnet. We can do better. DC mentioned 6 to 7 Players underperforming today, it just ain't good enough.
