Yeah same but we've done well in our first season back whatever happens between now and May. I still think we've got a very good chance of getting to the play offs but I think we'd really struggle to win them though. One things for sure is that we look much stronger and play to our strengths more with 3 at the back and wing backs and playing 4-4-2 with Lawrence in midfield and Mansel out wide sure as hell ain't playing to our strengths.

Just got home and can't help feeling three was something up today. Agree on formation, wing backs def seems to be our most effective formation. But it wasn't just the 442 issue today. We looked ropey at back, that Parkes / Mildy clash really worried me. Wasn't the accy goal due to a similar f**k up in defence? Tbf Mildy was my mom (esp for that save that looked well over the line!) but mid was also a shambles too and the forwards never really got forward - Easter and gaffers just looked like they were playing different games. Bad day at office but felt like more than that. Really hope we can fix it and glad DC said it was hurting cos we all know that team can do better

Guys & Gals. Pompey fan here in peace. Your manager should be applauded for at least coming to have a go today. I know some of you maybe looking and asking why he did this after the event. However such is the top 3 in front coming to us and parking the Bus and hoping to catch on the break and if not settling for a point is not enough to get into top 3.Your manager I felt had a go today because he realised a win would keep you in touch. He is/was not settling for a play-off position, nor should he. I hope you get into the play-offs and what a day at Wembley it would be if we both get there. Certainly the record attendance for a L2 play -off final would be broken. As well as we played today, we are unlikely to make top 3 as most teams come to us and park the bus and we are not good enough to consistently break those teams down. The very fact your manager went for it is really to be applauded, and the stats can sometime lie, in the first half it was a good a game as I have seen for sometime. If I was being critical of your team today your back 4 looked shaky, your keeper however is very good. Lawrence ( who used to be our club captain) is either not fit or past his best. But your big lump at front looks a real handful. Finally respect to your fans, the definition, for pompey fans of truly great support is in adversity. Loved how your lot broke into a loud rendition of Goodnight Irene when going 3-0 down. Proper support and please this is not meant to be arrogant. Too many so called fans of clubs do not understand. Yours do. Good luck for rest of the season unless we meet in play-offs. Good post but I'm sure your contradicting yourself as all we needed to do was keep it tight for 80 mins then open up, get the fans on your players, & manager's, backs and hopefully grab the winner, as we didn't need to win 2 or 3 nil to boost our GD? Even a draw would have been acceptable to most Gasheads just to keep us on the top 7 and Pompey below us. DC is showing a worrying tendency for blowing it in big league matches, Mansfield in our relegation season, Macclesfield & Dover last season, now the last 2 matches against Play Off contenders. God knows what's going on with Lawrence that one's a mystery.

Just a bad day at the office and Pompey were better than us. Manse on the wing was not the answer and we should've started with Taylor up front, he and gaffers had a good partnership whilst he was on loan.

Nothing was decided today. Twists and turns to come.
Don't panic!

Not intended to be a defeatist post at all but not sure how anyone ever saw us having enough quality to make the top 3?

Thought Pompey were the best team we've played so far and we struggled to string 2 passes together with all the pressure you put on us high up the pitch. Don't get me wrong, we were absolutely shocking today but can't take away anything from the performances of some of your players. I think we'll both finish in the play-offs, automatics looks like a bridge too far for both clubs.

Let's be honest which of us wouldn't have started with 5 at the back in those 2 games? Whilst nobody is writing our season off on the back of 2 defeats, starting 4-4-2 in both games and also starting with Lawrence, who hardly seems to warrant a start, is all a bit odd. Plus upfront Taylor's loss his form, Easter's showing little signs of improving and Harrison has been loaned out/got injured. Yeah it seems the wheels have come off and it's been pf our own doing. Can't get my head around it. You have to give credit to the opposition sometimes - Accie and Pompey both looked very good at our place - very hard to break down and neat going forward - it should not surprise us that they turned us over at their places too. We still have a great chance of play offs. but today's game showed we still lack in defence and midfield to get into the top 3.

Macclesfield were a strong team last season and Dover finished three places below the playoffs. He won the three most important and biggest matches of the season so he hardly bottles big matches?
