Gashead will be on the bus Thursday evening.... Hope so Rich Obviously in football any game can be lost... BUT why would any of us not believe we can beat Torquay after what happened the other day? Until then, maybe Nuneaton at home was the most dominant we'd been this season, so why wouldn't we beat them too? Keep it rolling... I'm on board for all five! Because, call me cynical, but its never been the Bristol Rovers way to win games when we ought to!! Especially when there is so much positivity around, as much as I love it!

Hope so Rich Because, call me cynical, but its never been the Bristol Rovers way to win games when we ought to!! Especially when there is so much positivity around, as much as I love it! But remember Oddball from Kelly's Heroes: no negative waves, man. That's what made the bridge get blown up. Nothing wrong with negativity or failure after the event. The great learn and bounce back from it. Its what makes champions. My approach is to be upbeat prior to anything, take calculated risks and then go out to win. Of course, failure happens, but when it does the strong bounce back. Think the best and good things happen, eventually. Champions, don't look back, they believe in what they can achieve and certainly think about winning. I think we have done enough to think like champions on and off the pitch. Its not just about winning. Of course, we can win. We expect to win. Maybe we think how many! Complacent, not me and certainly not champions. Confident, absolutely. Maybe the ones who play with fear come second. Its time to be the number ones in this league!

It's time to set some goals for this season. It's time to put the past behind us. It's time to move on. It's time to rally the troops. It's time to think we can achieve. It's time to access what an end of season success might look like. All sporting teams need targets in the dressing room. Why can't we believe that, at last, bristol rovers can look up and think that we might just surprise many about what we can achieve. These targets should be in every players contracts. I'm sure they are in the manager and players contracts. If we do well and the fans turn up to watch and the team win games then the team should be rewarded. If we fire the players up with a purpose, get them focused on giving their best and focused on continually improving individually and as a team we might just surprise the doubters. I've got a few ideas of my own and the bus is ready and waiting. It's not set off yet but if I see any fans at the bus stop waiting the bus will be started and will be ready to pick up passengers, of all types. There's room for all. Ground breaking goal - a remarkable top of the league.
Is this possible? Many would think not. A good start would soon galvanise the fans and offer hope. It seems we have a team that might be hungry for success and a manager who is talking a good game, building relationships and if this transfers to the players, some fans might think the impossible might actually be achievable. Stretching goal - promotion via the play offsIs this possible? Quite a few I am sure are hopeful for this final position. No reason why we should not set a target like this that gives us all hope. We have been surrounded by fear for too long. We deserve so much better and with leadership and the right tactics we might just make this happen. Realistic goal - reach the play offs but fall short
Surely we must think that Bristol Rovers can achieve this as a minimum. There is no reason not to think that we might be in the mix come the end of the season. We certainly expect at least this. Is it realistic? It certainly should be. No player should be at the club who thinks that this is not achievable. Security Goal - top ten finishI am sorry but this would be disappointing. Any lower than this and it's bye bye DC. Can we get in the top ten? We must believe that this is possible. We need to see progress and this would not be progress for me. What do I expect and hope for?
OK I'm hoping that we can all be on a ground breaking bus and have a promotion party well before the play offs. This should be the target that players should be aiming for. We might not make it but I'd like to think we can give it a good try. We are Bristol Rovers. We have had enough of being in this situation of not quite making it. Our fans are still with us. I actually hope for achieving the ground breaking goal but the ground breaking bus will take fans to the play offs if that is the way to get out of this league. If we get out of the league this season we will all be happy and the pain of last season and the close season will be behind us. The bus is ready and this time it might go all the way. A good start will certainly help. Grimsby - bring it on! "We have put ourselves in a challenging position in the top five and I think a lot of people would have taken that at the start of the season. We are six points behind Barnet and in a good run of form, says the manager. Just maybe he's now aiming for ground breaking too! My dreams are coming true! Many will be pleased that eventually my hope turns into a reality. It's going to be a fun the next four months!

Groundbreaking would be getting someone to do the club website who has a brain. Apparently the Braintree game has been cancelled. Only 45 games for us this season then !!

When there is doubt and despair about our chances I return with this thread. We are only seven points behind Barnet. Third in the form table. Barnet Ninth. Barnet are the clear favourites and shouldn't throw it away. Newcastle did all those years ago. Let them be confident and cocky. The underdogs are coming.
We play badly and come away with a point. For many seasons we would have lost these sort of games. The unbeaten run continues.
We have 14 games to go, it is not over yet. Everyone of our games will be a cup final. A ground breaking run is needed. Barnet and ourselves still need to play Grimsby, Gateshead, Eastleigh, Halifax, Kidderminster. Its all to pay for and the form team are ready to take on the challenge.
I have a sneaky feeling that we might just do this. We are only 7pts behind. Playoffs might be realistic and better than some thought at start of season but what we do know is that the remarkable achievement is still possible. I know I'm a lone voice but sometimes the single voice can be right.
It's going to be closer than we think. It's easy to predict realistic achievement. Its what many expect. Not me. Bring it on!

What a result. Barnet we are coming. I know I can be annoying to some fans but right now I am more confident than anytime in the last three years of ground breaking threads. A few weeks ago I said this in anther thread....
"Pretty certain the team are after the prize. They know its more than possible. Barnet can still drop points. Of course, It's more likely we will make the play offs. That's the safe prediction. I agree Barnet always appear to be around 7pts ahead. However, One win, one defeat and then it's only 4pts. The time to be brave is now. The time for confidence is now. The time to be hopeful is now. Now is our time. Are we brave enough to take it? The dressing room are. Many in the crowd and the wider fan base will think we are ready. I can't see beyond a fantastic run in. When We beat a few so called big boys in the next few weeks many many more will be joining the many who are thinking the unthinkable"
It's quite remarkable ready. One defeat, one win and now its four points. As I said on match day thread breathing heavily on Barnets neck.
Happy gas heads tonight!

I don't like the mental image I have of you breathing heavily on Barnet's neck, but I'll try to dismiss it.
Two years ago in the Groundbreaking Goal, going great guns as we were from the day John Ward took over, I really believed we were going to do it - until we got 4 punctures in 90 minutes at Bradford.
Last season it was never really going to happen, despite getting to about 11th place at one point, but I never dreamt it would go as horribly wrong as it did.
This season, though, it really does look achievable. In 2015 we've drawn 3, won 3. Not brilliant, but not bad. But others keep slipping up around us, especially Barnet, who've lost 3, won 3. Not terrible, but not good.
If we can maintain this form - expecting along the way we'll lose a few and win most - and Barnet carry on being inconsistent, we can catch them. We've made up 3 points on them in the last 6 games. At this rate, after another 8 games, we'll catch them. With 4 games to go after that. Could be very exciting.

I've been on this ground breaking stuff for three years now. I agree totally with your comments above. It certainly could be exciting. Eventually we were going to achieve a ground breaking goal.. This season looks to to the time when gashead dreams come true.

Positive, optimistic, hopeful and energised about the next few games. Lets sit back and enjoy the ride. Tonight is about enjoying the moment. Ground Breaking might well be possible. Would we have taken this position at the start of the season? Not many believed that we could win this league. We are the form team - I think we have reasons to be cheerful!

And now you're going to believe us........
Another win. Another bump from me. The bus is packed. Automatic is now becoming more believable as each week goes by. Dad and I at the game next week. Expecting us to despatch Eastleigh and carry on our unbeaten and winning run. Ground breaking is more than likely now!

I'll be happier when Barnet can't catch us with their game in hand.
