Obviously everybody is pleased that the club could be taking a turn for the better. Could I recommend a degree of humility from out supporters. Far be it from me to tell people what to do but some of the things I have seen on Facebook pages this morning are frankly embarrassing. People belittling other clubs and making wild statements about our wealth. I have just seen a post on here about a chant we should sing today, it's not all about the money. The new president already said its a long term project, evolution not revolution. Can we please just keep our heads? All this were considerably richer than you carp can come back to bite us in the Arse. It may even motivate the opposition who already see us as a scalp. Thanks for reading.

Yeah I certainly wouldn't be going round knocking other clubs, other than the sh!t, of course.
They've given us so much sh!t but now.... Tick tock, tick tock.....

I am afraid some of our fans will let us down, would like to put it down to the exuberance of youth but where I stand in the thorn it is the "Saga hit squad" who use the worst language and regularly have confrontational problems!

Definitely agree with this. Money seems to bring out the worst in some people. Let's remember who we are and where we came from, and appreciate what we seem to have now without making crass and insensitive comments.

With respect, for once, screw humility, we've been humble since 2000 and I am sick of it! If we have fans thinking we are man city then they are wrong, and it is indeed folly to claim such....there's nowt wrong with welcoming the new owners and working on the basis that they will be better than previous until proved otherwise. This is the biggest turning point for decades, I can't be anything but positive as there is nothing thusfar to suggest it won't be a good thing, Higgs et al have stayed on as life presidents, if we were to be asset stripped or targeted in some way, they'd be off without an encore. I want to wholeheartedly trumpet and cackle in support of this new dawn, if I am proved wrong I will just have to look like a silly billy, a risk I am willing to take.

One delightful chap even offered to wave twenties and those poor deshevelled peasants from Morecombe today. Pathetic.

Perhaps if we ever get to the UWE and Messi leads the team out we could laugh at other club's struggling, but how often do developments like this at Rovers eventually turn out different than we expected?

Your wasting your breath mate. Whilst I think most fans will take it as it comes, there will be some that do exactly what you said and unfortunately they are the ones who get noticed. UTG

That comment about waving 20's around is a disgrace. No doubt some will be doing it though.

Personally, I find talk of how rich we are grotesque.
The owners clearly find such talk crass, as Mr Al-Qadi refused to answer questions about his wealth. The financials of the deal were kept under wraps too.
Also, this talk is just plain wrong as he said there is not an endless supply of cash to pump into the club.
I hope people don't go on about it, but I know the less thoughtful of us will.
Rather than shouting "loads-a-money" we need to be grateful that - for the first time in my 35 years of being a rovers fan - our financial future looks secure.

I think it's important that we don't generally get into the mindset that we can buy our way up the leagues. The amount of money the Al Qadis have, and the amount they should spend on us, has already been overstated massively. Hopefully people won't start whining that we haven't signed Lambert or some random Championship striker for seven figures, after a couple of weeks.
We just need to go ahead, slow and steady, doing the basics right and building for the future, with the luxury of knowing we're not in danger of bankrupcy. Not sure we can demand any more than that.

Some of the things i've seen on Facebook and Twitter are cringeworthy, some people are behaving like chavs who've won the lottery. Let's conduct ourselves with some dignity and not let ourselves down today.

Hamer spoke clearly about evolving success, and that they feel the footballing side of the operation (as well as the Stadium plans) have a solid footing to work with. He was clear that meeting DC, they want to support him and grow the club not just buy us up the league. I think, aside from the blogger, most people, are humble but excited with mixed, but positive emotion for the next part of the club's future.

It could become counter productive in other ways too. Agents and clubs inflating wages and fees, fans getting restless and chanting 'spend the xxxxxxx money!'.
This needs to be sold in a way that shows we are not suddenly spending big and looking at a slow gradual climb back up the leagues. So far so good in my view.

Good point, haven't thought about that side of things. We just need to do our business slowly but quietly. I hope we aren't going to gung-ho with spending because I don't think DC would do things that way. It is important that the Al-Qadi/Hamer and DC are a good match.

I actually like the idea of evolution not revolution. It should be posted on every rovers site and above the gates. I want us to do well, to be as good as we can be, but I also want to be able to recognise the club I've suffered with for 46 years. If Mesi signed tomorrow I'd still rather Stu played and Mesi had to earn his place. We are Rovers, we need to stay Rovers. (albeit a bit more relaxed about our current account overdraft)
