Mildenhall 8 couple of quality stops, good in difficult conditions Brown 6 ok very little defending to do Clarke 5 poor passing Parkes 4 couldn't pass water today. Very poor display Lockyer 9 quality oozes from the lad. Leadbitter 8 very good game, great cross for first goal Lines 7 very good 2 nd half Lawrence 5 better in 2nd half awful 1st Sinclair 7 usual no nonsense display Taylor 4 poor. Gaffney 7 goal capped all action performance
Bodin 7 change of formation improved everything Easter 6 showed effort and kept ball well DC 7. Had the bottle to change formation when morcombe surprised him with their shape. Crowd 7 Morcombe 4 thought the were very poor. New owners 10.

Mildenhall 7 given the conditions good performance Leadbitter 7 final ball still needs improving J. Clarke 6 unlucky we had to change to 442 Lockyer 8 some great defending, had to get that challenge right second half or they were clean through Brown 5 poor first half, the times he had just one man to take on but never tried to get to the byeline to cross, better second half Lawrence 4 nothing till the last twenty mins, got to be better to come I hope Lines 5 much better second half but that wasn't difficult Sinclair 6 energy, tackling in abundance but no creativity at all, suppose that is Lines and Lawrence job Taylor 2 Just didn't look interested, very little link up play Gaffney 6 works the flanks to much for me,stay in the middle to get on the end of crosses Subs: Bodin 7 helped change our play in the final third and got the winner Easter 6 got involved and kept the ball well Crowd 6 Ref 4 very soft at times Morecambe 5 played the wind better than us first half and the start of second half, pressed us well also

Mildenhall 7 Generally sound game, one very good save in the second half. Brown 6 Great cross for the winner, had a better second half. Clarke 5 Did nothing wrong. Parkes 5 Got better as the game went on. Lockyer 7.5 Overall a good game, but distribution again was poor. Leadbitter 8.5 Good athletic performance. Lines 6 The conditions did not help his passing game. Lawrence 5 Was awol in the first half, but got stronger as the game progressed. Sinclair 7 Workaholic. Taylor 3 Off his game today. Gaffney 7 Worked hard, great poachers goal.
Subs: Bodin 7 Will have a good future in the game. Easter 6 Kept possession well.
Crowd 7 Ref 4 Morecombe 5 Big ugly physical spoilers.

Mildenhall 7.5 Made a few crucial stops. Leadbitter 7.5 MOM. Usual attacking threat, hacked down several times. Shaky towards end but appeared to be injured after a late challenge. Clarke 6 Did nothing wrong, tactical substitution hastened his exit. Lockyer 6 Let down by some wayward distribution, not the best part of his game but the tricky wind did not help. Parkes 6 As Lockyer Brown 6 Wasted several early opportunities to cross the ball with his insistence to want to go outside his man and get to the byline every time. Feel he needs to vary his game as the opposition are well versed into what he does. Lawrence 5. First half 1, Much improved as the game went on. Sinclair 5 Usual all action displaywith no end result. Lines 5. As Lawrence. Taylor 2. Offered nothing, surprised he was kept on so long. A couple of really tame shots , looked as though he did not have the strength to kick the ball, Easily dealt with by very average opponents. Gaffney 6.5 Tried very hard without much success, but rewarded with his goal. Not helped by his lazy strike partner.
Bodin 6.5. Clearly a far better player than Taylor, changed the game when he came on. Worked hard throughout Easter 6. Very lively, showed urgency from the moment he came on. Clarke 0. Not on long enough to rate. Crowd 6 Ref 2. Yet another ref who lacked consistency. Booked our player for a pull back and then Played advantage after a similar pull back by a Morecambe player and after the move broke down, did nothing! Morecambe 4.

Mildenhall 6.5 Made some decent saves to keep it at 0-1.
Leadbitter 7 Great all-round performance. J. Clarke 5 Did nothing wrong but was the victim of an early tactical switch Parkes 5 Lockyer 7 Made some great decisive challenges. Brown 5.5 Poor first half. Improved second.
Lawrence 3 Probably his best game so far. But still bloody awful. Lines 5.5 Improved as the game went on. Sinclair 7 He's just Sinclair.
Taylor 3 Another poor game. Seem to be saying this a lot. Needs to start scoring. Gaffney 6.5 Worked hard. Took his goal well- right place right time.
Subs: Bodin 7 Changed the game when coming on IMO. Easter 5 Kept the ball well. Would like to see more attacking threat.
Crowd 6 Ref 4 Morecambe 5

Mildenhall - 6. Not too much to do. Annoyed me hugely with his complete inability to kick into the wind. Put your boot through the damn thing, don't slide underneath it man !!!!
Leadbitter - 7. Great impact had his oppo on toast a couple of times J. Clarke - 5. Was only on during our poor start so no chance to redeem himself unlike the others Lockyer - 8. MoM. Poor start, forced to go long in impossible conditions by lack of options early on but defensively in a different class throughout. Interesting decision by DC to make him captain. Didnt let anyone down. Brown - 7. Big impact down left, very little to do defensively. Not sure why he gets the grief some were giving him.
Lawrence - 3. No impact in first half, looked better in second but seems to want others to do the running for him. I don't think he earned his right to be on the field. Lines - 5. Quiet first half, he was on it second half, can't have him and Lawrence in same team though Sinclair -7. Did the running in mid field. Much better as one of three as he will never be a playmaker
Taylor - 5. Quiet game, one or two great touches/turns but generally not to his pre-Christmas standard. Gaffney -6. A real handful and had the canny nack of being in the right place when the ball is loose in the box.
Subs: Bodin - 7. Key difference in new formation and scored the winner Easter - 5. On a bit too late for a significant impact.
Crowd - first half 2, second half 7. Needed a goal to wake up.
Ref - 5. Not great but equally inconsistent to both sides Morecambe - 3. I thought they were pretty poor, thankfully !!!

My own opinions from the game:
Mildenhall 8 Didn't have much to do for most of the game, but earned his money with a great save off a swerving Ellison shot.
Leadbitter 8 Used as an outlet to good effect today. Not what he intended, but his cross for Gaffney's goal came from his direct running. J. Clarke 6.5 Not his fault that the system wasn't working and he needed subbing. Lockyer 9 Really dominant performance and it seemed the swirling wind didn't affect his reading of the ball. Love it when he brings the ball out with confidence from the back. Parkes 6.5 No idea if the penalty was fair or not, he was solid in defence but never got to grips with the wind. Brown 4.5 I thought this was a rare poor game today. Tried to be too fancy with Parkes early on and overhit his crosses in the first half.
Lawrence 5 Didn't convince with his ability to get into the game early on. Improved after the first goal and looked good when playing with confidence. Lines 5.5 Couldn't say he did much wrong, but was missing at times in the first half. Sinclair 6.5 Got some rough treatment from the Morecambe players but kept going. I thought his reading of the game was excellent today and he made tackles that others wouldn't have thought to have made. Didn't create much though.
Taylor 3 Peripheral to the game. Gaffney 6 Came deep to look for the ball when he was starved of service. Took his chance well.
Subs: Bodin 7 Changed the way the game was played. Linked well with Leadbitter but showed a willingness to shoot which had been lacking. Easter 6 Not on long, more interested in keeping the ball than trying to add a third.
Crowd 6 Subdued for the first half. Ref 6.5 Couldn't tell about the penalty, could have booked a Morecambe player sooner Morecambe 5.5 Solid lower-middle table team. Tired and got deeper as the game went on probably due to their recent injury record. Ellison always worried me as an outlet though.

Sorry, missed that. Parkes - 6. Did well once he stopped trying to play 40 yarders. I've had him down as being at fault for the last 4 goals. Hope this is just a blip.

I've read a lot about Lawrence on here but yesterday was my first chance to see him in the flesh.
Was yesterday reflective of all his other performances?

Mildenhall 7 Very difficult conditions for a keeper, made two vital saves to keep us in the game,
Leadbitter 7 Played the game well, used his pace well, just got to learn how to put in better crosses J. Clarke 5 Tactical switch, played ok Lockyer 7.5 Captains display in difficult conditions MoM Parkes 5 Some of his passing was useless but otherwise quite solid, definitely a penalty Brown 5 Not one of his better games, got into a few positions to cross the the ball but didn't or were overhit otherwise quite solid.
Lawrence 5 First time I have seen him play, first impression, only a average player and must have more to offer.
Lines 4 Conditions perhaps got the better of him. Sinclair 6 Usual no nonsense game without offering much quality,
Taylor 3 Not his best game but not much service for him to do anything Gaffney 6.5 Not much service either, but in the right place at the right time for his goal
Subs: Bodin Good tactical switch, game improved slightly when he came on Easter 7 Not always his greatest fan fan but I thought he held the ball and played the windy conditions well
Crowd 6 Needed to have a wake up call, not much for them to get excited about for the first hour when it was a dreadful game to watch Ref 5 Fairly inconsistent for both teams, however he got the penalty and sending off right, Morecambe 5 Nothing special,

Mildenhall 7.5 Been brilliant since his return to be fair
Leadbitter 7.5 Most of our play was coming from our right hand side using Leads. J. Clarke 6 Tactical switch, was alright. Lockyer 7.5 Worthy captain and solid as usual Parkes 5.5 Definite penalty unfortunately Brown 6 Mr Average
Lawrence 4.5 Not convinced by him so far but better than last week, better as game went on Lines 6 Missing in first half but some good driving runs 2nd half Sinclair 6 Stuck in as usual without much quality
Taylor 3.5 Don't know what has happened to him lately, never really involved and didn't look hungry enough. Gaffney 6.5 Worked hard and finished well.
Subs: Bodin 7 Linked well with the opposition and caused them problems. Easter 6 Kept the ball well and looked lively when he came on.
Crowd 6 Disappointing for most parts but conditions and performance didn't help, gas girls were very loud though! Ref 7.5 A bit inconsistent but got the big decisions spot on in fairness. Morecambe 5.5 Nearly put in the perfect away performance.
