Is it something peculiar to Bristolians, that whenever Rovers or City wobble, we think the worse and start doubting our managers.
I know I do. Today, after 2 wins I'm happier!! Last week, I'm thinking does DC have what it takes to keep the promotion bid going, and if promoted will he be able to improve the team again??
Do we have a false expectation of our teams? Or are we just ambitious, and don't take lightly to losing to any other team in our division? Especially the Accringtons and Barnets?
If somebody could get the stats, of how many managers of Rovers and city have had over the past 20 yrs it will be shocking!! lol

Happens all over the country mate. Everywhere. very true....
get promotion or challenge = keep your job or get a better one
get relegated or struggle = get the sack

makes sense to me! DC was an exception though, but then again if he'd have been in charge all of that season then I doubt we'd have been relegated anyway! UTG

Including caretakers...since 1996......city 14...rovers 19 Did you just make that up? People like Phil Bater filled the role twice as caretaker...but its about the role being available not the person doing it.

We're no different to anyone else, I imagine, but since I don't follow everyone else, I only know about us.
DC wins - great young manager, Wael must hang on to him, glad to see the new owner is backing him.
DC loses - not up to the task of getting us into League 1. Wael must be looking at alternatives now.
All in the space of 15 days or so.
I hope the backers and sackers are at least consistent in their views. I would hope they don't chop and change opinions about DC as each goal goes in at either end.
We need consistent opinions from posters in order to decide how right or wrong their views might be.
Tbone is my kind of model poster in this respect.

The problem with football is you can't help but get emotionally involved especially when supporting your local club. It makes or breaks my weekends if I'm honest, when we go to football on a Matchday we are generally really looking forward to it, get up fried breakfast , soccer am , up to the club house for a pint then kick off. When we win its like all is right with the world especially when city lose! We will listen to radio Bristol and listen to the news and views and say how good a manager dc is and how good our team is. When we lose its like , dc is rubbish , players aren't good enough, don't listen to radio Bristol and don't watch any footie highlights!!!! A day after when I've got my emotions back in check I start thinking about who we've got on Saturday and the cycle begins all over again. One Saturday I love football the next I could really Dam hate it!!!!! But hey it's only football ( as my Mrs likes to say )

Happens all over the country world mate. Everywhere. Fixed that for you. You should see the state of the Central Coast Mariners. Highlight of the game was sitting next to a fellow Gashead and having a chat about the upcoming amateur season.

I doubt forums/social media/phone ins etc help as you can now have a moan instantly after the match, not on a Monday morning when you get to work etc?

Sad as it may seem, it is a Bristol thing. Would any other fans in the country be such yo yo in the head as Rovers fans after a win/loss? After Wycombe he was on the verge of being hanged, after yesterday...o what a fine manager we have. Its the same at the moment with Johnson at City,as it was with Cottrill. Short sightedness and large noses.

Having lived in West London for 33 years hand on heart I can say Bristolians are well known for their moaning Perhaps that's just the impression you've given them of Bristolians? When it comes to football it's hardly surprising we've spent years moaning compared to Londoners & Mancs etc?

The Rovers only have to lose a game, still be in the play offs and supporters are venting their bile at Darrel Clarke. And this after being taken over by a very rich man who has publicly stated his intentions. There is no comparison in my eyes.

I know that our fans can be a bit bipolar but it's important not to overstate. I don't think there were many fans venting bile at DC after Wycombe. A very small minority, maybe, of which there are a small handful who post on this board.

An exaggeration to a point of view that you may not personally agree with.
