I'd like just a quarter of the Wembley crowd to turn up every week

I don't think the anti board stay away fans are big in number, so the return of Kevin and his crew isn't going to swell our numbers to any noticeable degree. I seem to recall seeing stats that showed our 1st season back in Bristol was our biggest but that was still only 8000 on average. My guess is the gap vs Wembley turn out is to a large degree due to infrequent attendance. I'd love to see stats on it (maybe we should commission some proper research) but based on people I know of, I think about 60% of our Wembley attendees had been to at least one game in the season. So our challenge is to get them coming back more often. Our 7,000 average isn't the same 7,000 coming every week

Is this for the same reason as well ? Again just curious as you guys seem to have supported the gas a lot longer than myself. I never boycotted but lost a bit of passion for it slowly since the end of the Holloway era. Also growing older I also gained extra responsibility such as with work, marriage and starting a family so i didn't want to commit to home and away every week. I feel refreshed now, its not about glory hunting just about feeling a connection to the club again. Been creepin back into my blood slowly in the same way it was seeping out before ever since our year in non league. Glory hunting and rovers ? In the same sentence ? Never thought I'd here that lol !!! Fair play to you for coming back, as it is a big commitment financially and emotionally but once a has head always a gas head!!

During the dark days of the Official Forum when the Kevin Spencer ban caused a meltdown and split between the fans there were multiple posts from fans who vowed not to go until the ban was lifted. These people also cited hundreds of other fans who refused to attend until Higgs and the then BoD had left the club. Now that both of those things have happened can we expect to see their return? Am interested to get the views on anyone that has stayed away and has subsequently attended on how they feel the dynamics of a match day have changed. A "meltdown" from 50 odd fans on a forum maybe... "A split a between the fans"? Give over, I'm betting apart from the 100 odd who frequent the 2 forums hardly anyone has heard of Kevin Spencer(him again...!) You make it sound like the entire fan base was on one side or another.

Lol just meant its not just because we have wealthy backers. I never left I just didn't go as often. I will probably never go back to the level of support I gave as a teenager and youth until I retire but would be nice to make it more often.

Most fans don't care about the politics I agree. It was fans who had been heavily involved in the club at various levels from volunteering for BRSC or chairing it to writing for the programme and being involved at board level. The club needs all the people like this it can get so even if it is 50 that is good news.

"Most fans don't care about the politics" Exactly this, I've been watching Rovers since the early 90's, and to tell you the truth, prior to our take over the only people who I could name who were on our board were Higgs & BSS(and I could only name him because I'm on here!) The only reason I know about Kevin Spencer is because I read it on here. I was just trying to put some balance in to the OP post.

I can understand & have empathy with the affordability preventing some from attending, but can never understand the school night or working hours excuse. As a 12 year old I would go to night matches & take my 2 younger brothers, from Hartcliffe to Eastville, 2 bus journeys each way or a walk from Old Market when funds were low & it didn't effect my education - well I have never been out f work & same for my brothers. When working, I would often go straight from work, swap shifts or get someone to cover or even lie to the boss about dentist or dr appointment, yes it was a real bind at times especially at Twerton, but it was to watch Rovers after all, so worth the hassle, W/L/D. How many home night games a season do we have for goodness sake!! Also, I don't know KS and have no feelings either way about his ban, but I don't recall us selling out each week, whilst he was a director or before his ban - I don't think it will have any significant bearing on attendance figures.

I decided to stop going following the relegation due to the disgusting way I thought the old board treated the fans. As soon as the old board left I went again. It was the only way I thought I could show my dissatisfaction.

Despite only missing a couple of games per season i havent had a season ticket since Twerton days, however i will be getting one for myself and my lad next season If you don't mind me asking is that because of the uplift of the banning order or because of the end of the old regime? I can fully understand long term supporters staying away the last few years due to decline of the club and the shoddy way in which it seems to have been ran. Fair play to you getting a season ticket though for you and your lad ! As you can tell I have only been going down for the last few years. Its just the case that my Lad who is 9, is really up for games now. He used to come along sometimes but didnt really get into it until this year. Nothing to do with lifting off banning orders, as i go to all but 1 of 2 home games anyway

I stopped going for a number of reasons. 1) standing on a terrace started giving me painful backache. 2) Had become sick of GD , especially the tantrums on the old forum. 3) became sick of the 'fake' *stadium stories . * Stoke Gifford , mangotsfield ,severnside ...all pie in the sky lies. The lie was busted when the club applied for planning to build a new north stand most likely expecting it to be refused. It was passed and the bluff was called...there was no money....so they stalled with the let's develope the whole mem site ....it passed planning..another shock no doubt...but the funding was there....oh no it's not now...better scrap that idea then. Didn't think to go back to the redeveloped clubhouse terrace (blackthorn end) ...no that's been brushed under the carpet. Do people remember the FA having stadium development funds where clubs could land themselves a million or so quid for free for stadia upgrades Lots and lots of clubs used their full quota...what about BRFC Ha...what do you think. Then the UWE stadium.....even that was messed up. My first target is down,I wasn't going whilst GD was on the board. He was great in the twerton years but lost the plot and held the club back. I may return to the mem for a farewell visit or two.......but I won't return full time until a new stadium/stands are built I'm sick of the BS. I think my last season (season ticket holder since early twerton days) was paul trollope and lennie sat comfortably in league one..... I stick to my guns...didnt even go to wembley last season.....THATS how watered off i was. The new board give me real hope...for a new beginning.

All about opinions at the end of the day, I love rovers but they are clearly higher up the list of your priorities than they are mine. My daughter is 9 years of age who also does gymnastics throughout the week after school so if she went on a Tuesday night she would be knackered for the next day. Friday night matches aren't as bad because it's the end of the week. Fair play to you though on your dedication it's great that fans go to that length to attend a match!

We all love things in different amounts and ways. When I was a kid I only really loved Rovers, when I was a teenager and youth I loved Rovers and Punk Music. I grew older and loved my family, Rovers and Punk Music. I also have a second team I enjoy watching. I split my time in different ways. You probably just have more passion or love for the club then some of us.

I can't see Tuesday crowd being a big one as the weather is hardly brilliant and we have another home game on Saturday, you can imagine any floaters will target Saturday's game over a cold Tuesday night at the Mem.

I agree if we get a positive result on Tuesday we could see a gate of anything between 8-9000 , i think the problem for Tuesday night games are people's working hours. Speaking from personal experience it's an absolute ball ache!!! It's gotta be done though!!!! School nights also affect attendance. I rarely make a Tuesday or Friday game. Me either. Running my business gets in the way in the midweek so rarely do I get to a Tuesday game. Its highly likely that I won't be there this tues. ?

...Thought our rehearsed corner routine which produced the second goal was impressive at Nott's County .Weirdest corner routine was at Mansfield when their players went into an impromptu group hug and whilst we are wondering what that was all about in the middle of a game, they took the corner.Distraction technique!! did they score? Ours was weird as he had an incredible amount of free time, even managing to get it stuck under his feet for several touches. Can't imagine we'll often get that sort of space again but a running shot might work.

I just don't get it. What's the point. If your back hurts get a seat in the west stand or the dribuild. Get involved with the club some how and try and do your bit to improve something. If you haven't got the cash to get on the board then unfortunately you will have a bumpy ride putting up with the things we get told. You could always support Man U. Nice stadium, loads of money and great players. But then they moan they are 6th in the prem. You have missed some great football under DC even in the conference. Why not give it another chance?

OTIB admits our away support is superior to theirs but slags off our home attendances so let's make tuesday a bumper crowd. Wombles will bring a lot more than Hartlepool and yesterday's performance was a bit special... Six points this week will really get the juices flowing.8,000 I reckon and 9000 Sat if we win Tuesday... can't see the home fan attendance being much higher vs dons compared to pools. Very similar circumstances & rather bizarre decision to reschedule dons for the wk after our only scheduled home evening game between 1st Dec & end if season! 3 home games in 12 days.no ticket offers. It will be dominated by ST holders. BIG missed opportunity. Sat will b up a bit but the days of 9000 crowds are over for a while.

Always attended night matches when at school, didn't tire me,it has that effect now I am older as I find it hard to unwind after a night match and struugle to sleep. The only time I was stopped from going was when we had Everton away, dad got us tickets for the Saturday, but the game was called off and we played mid week, lost one nil,i was not a happy bunny
