It didn't shut the forum down!!! He had nothing to do with it. You're like the Americans, trying to re-write history. I'm sure Higgs would have pinned it on him he he could though. I'm sure KS would accept the blame if it gave him more attention.

It was enough to get it shutdown... There was a very real divide as it was an emotive topic for many. Wasnt trying to to dramatise the matter but it certainly did the above. It didn't shut the forum down!!! He had nothing to do with it. You're like the Americans, trying to re-write history. Not saying he had anything to do with it personally at all...the fallout of his ban certainly did though... The official statement read as follows: "For a number of months, and certainly since the end of the season, there have been a number of threads and posts on our forum featuring libellous comments, misinformation concerning club affairs, directors and club staff. "This is not acceptable to us, nor is it acceptable to many of our fair-minded supporters, who have questioned in which direction the forum is heading. "It has become impossible for the club to moderate the forum to the standards required and we are leaving ourselves open to legal action by continuing to host the forum under the official club website. "We have consulted Bristol Rovers Supporters Club and offered them the opportunity to run the forum, but they also do not have the resources to moderate it.

None of that had anything to do with the KS ban. Let me be the latest to say that it was closed down because of very nasty but understandable comments about the board and the allegations of drug taking. The only tenuous link with KS is that his ban was one of a number of things the board did that upset people. That upset finally boiled over when we were relegated, and some on the OF went ballistic.

During the dark days of the Official Forum when the Kevin Spencer ban caused a meltdown and split between the fans there were multiple posts from fans who vowed not to go until the ban was lifted. These people also cited hundreds of other fans who refused to attend until Higgs and the then BoD had left the club. Now that both of those things have happened can we expect to see their return? Am interested to get the views on anyone that has stayed away and has subsequently attended on how they feel the dynamics of a match day have changed. A "meltdown" from 50 odd fans on a forum maybe... "A split a between the fans"? Give over, I'm betting apart from the 100 odd who frequent the 2 forums hardly anyone has heard of Kevin Spencer(him again...!) You make it sound like the entire fan base was on one side or another. Absolutely - And many stated before the buy out 'he had moved on and was no longer interested in returning as now into Exeter City' - wonder if that will change now he has been personally invited back. Truth is now the old board has gone and KS invited back what do they have to moan about anymore - next scapegoat please stand up !!!

Even more couldn't have given a sh**e There was a time when Gasheads stood side by side and looked after each other and then along came the likes of you. Oh let's get nasty and personal Holmes - I grew up with KS but what Ipgas is totally correct

Despite only missing a couple of games per season i havent had a season ticket since Twerton days, however i will be getting one for myself and my lad next season I've never had a season ticket but vowed I'd buy one if and when we get our new stadium. Hopefully I'll be buying one soon ! I'd never had a Season ticket, despite getting out to Eastville as often as I could as a nipper, then being a regular, home and away, during our time at Twerton.
When we moved to the Mem, I started going more regularly again with a mate who had a season ticket and when were really up against it, in those fateful few matches prior to Mansfield, I went to most of our last few Home and Away games. My philosophy being at the time, the Club had never needed the fans support more so than then.
After that Mansfield game I really didn't know what to think.....should I boycott the Club for the way it had been allowed to slip into decline, should I put dog shxt through the players letterbox's like the other lot did to theirs in '82.. No,I thought, lets not stoop that low, lets just let the dust settle and calm down.
I was 50 in the June after we were relegated and my Wife and Kids thought that because I'd been to a lot of games towards the end of the Season, the nicest birthday surprise they could get me was a Season ticket for the Rovers.... for our forthcoming Season in the Conference !! I honestly didn't know whether to laugh or cry..!! What a lovely thoughtful thing for them to have done though...then the pxxs taking started from some Ted mates, you know, the usual 'what do wanna go and watch that shxt for?' 'Vanarama' and all that bollux. I know its been said before, but I can quite honestly say that Season in the Conference was the making of our Club and one which I enjoyed immensely. We not only had our League status back but imo we also got back the Club that I fell in love with back in 1973....Needless to say, thanks to my Wife and Kids, I've been lucky enough to have had a Season ticket ever since and will continue to do so, hopefully one day soon in a brand new Stadium.

The reason the OF closed was because the club stated it could no longer monitor the amount of libellous content, moderate the frequent abuse and keep up with the bans/reregistrations. This all happened after the KS ban etc. Not true. Many didn't know KS and were appalled and many didn't know KS and had faith he must have done something to warrant the ban. The OF closed nearly a year after KS was banned. It was closed because of the criticism of the board following relegation and because of salacious rumours about the off field antics of the players. Nothing to do with KS. A large proportion of fans on the OF (myself included ) were not particularly bothered about KS and many didn't even know who he was. I seem to recall the term "Kevinistas" was frequently used whenever people criticized the board. Funny really when you look back without pretending you had picked the winning side. All those Kevinistas were right weren't they. No, but you sure gave the little gang an ego boost !

It felt as if the conference wanted to make it even more embarrassing for us with that bloody vanarama advert " when my vans off the road im not workin' so what am I gonna do"? Sung with a simple sounding cockney accent!! It was as if a sh** Ed wrote the lyrics and the irritating jingle !

Personally I don't give a hoot whether KS goes to games or not, he could be a Ted for all I care, and I think I stand for the majority of Rovers fans who go to the Mem, rather than the few on here and other forums

You sense that gave NH the perfect excuse to close the forum.
