Every now and then I like to point out a player whose 'upped it a little.'
He was good last season but I have been critical of Lines this season. He was good last season.
Chris Lines was fantastic Today. Best performance of the season.
Couldn't fault his defensive work. Furthermore everything went forward, or when it was sideways it was positive. His confidence was there. Brilliant performance. With Sincs out we needed him to step up, so far so good.
In the last few home games there have been signs but today was fantastic. Perhaps he's better with Manse than he is Sincs?

Remember the rumour than Mans and Lines wouldn't play together due to a rift?

He has definitely looked a lot better and stepped up his game in the last few matches, just in time for the run in, let's hope he can keep it up.

Get the best out of Lines and you have one of the best CMs in the league IMO.
Great for us that he's hitting form now. When he's on his game he completely transforms us as an attacking threat with his surging runs and incisive passing.
And despite having had a dodgy season overall, that was his 6th assist of the season tonight (top in our squad).

Very surprised he didn't get man of the match, great forward play and a truly match winning block at 2-1, if that would have gone in then God knows how it would have ended

App on my phone (that's usually reliable with stats etc.) has Lines as top for us, but Brown must be on 5/6 if not more...

Just seen the goals on Sky Sports. Superb through ball from Linesy to set up Matty for our third goal.

Just seen the goals on Sky Sports. Superb through ball from Linesy to set up Matty for our third goal. It was that kind of ball that reminds you he's played at a higher level. Plus I also noticed tonight (for the first time recently) he was 'dictating' more - talking in advance of set-pieces, when the ball was dead, generally stepping up more into the leaders role that has *occasionally* been missing in the early part of the season.

I'm pretty sure lines has got more than 6 too. I think he was in 6 before county so he'd be on 8 now. One things for sure Lines and Brown are our most creative plsyers in terms of the killer ball.

I predict his best game of the season will be against Crawley on 2.4.16 ( to that date)

As Lines just got his mojo back or does he simply play better alongside Manse?

Browner got 1 against Morecambe (?), 2 against Hartlepool, 1 against Notts County and another 1 last night. No way he went the rest of the season before then without getting an assist.

Sadly i think Lines and Sinclair don't work well together, and that is why Lines did so much better last season. They are both great but very different and a bit inflexible. I actually think Mansell is a pretty versatile player and can fit with either but not both
