Terribly sad news.
Rays enthusiasm for all things Rovers was infectious
Thoughts with his family and friends
Hope you were watching down on the boys proudly today.

As many have said GH Ray seemed very young and enthusiastic from his posts. So sad he's gone, R.I.P

Blimey, utterly terrible news.
I didn't know Ray personally but he seemed like a genuinely lovely bloke.

Ray was 61 but always appeared younger. He was with a few friends at the Bristol Beer Festival the Friday before last and seemed in very good spirits, as usual. Sadly he died of a heart attack having become unwell during a cycle ride on Thursday. Those who knew him can still hardly believe he has gone, and I'm so glad Rovers won yesterday -- a fitting away win for him.

Very, very sad news.
Felt like I knew him just from this place - came across as a real top bloke and as passionate a Gashead as they come.
Will be sorely missed.
RIP Ray.
Goodnight Irene.

WHEN SOMEONES TIME HAS COME TO PASS,
A GASHEAD TO THE END,
UNITED WE STAND, GLASS IN HAND,
TO TOAST OUR ABSENT FRIEND.Goodnight fellow Gashead and FFS Member. Gone but not forgotten. GasheadRay may you Rest in Peace and many condolences to your family and friends. Jon Would it be possible for he FFSC, as I see Ray was a member to make some sort of gesture for his family in this sad time? Dave, thank you. Having thought over night about this i think it is difficult to decide what we could do, i'm sure the details of the funeral will be posted at some stage and i am a big believer of privacy being allowed for Ray's family who must be suffering at this awful time.If i may suggest: Ray Spearing was a Gashead and would have attended matches with his Gashead friends, online and on here he was known in his own affectionate own title of "GheadRay". Ray was a moderator on this forum and a member of The Fans Forum Sponsor Club. This is how hundreds of us knew him. He was always a "Ray of Sunshine" on here with his positive and hopeful threads and posts. This is how most of us knew him and enjoyed his online company.I think this thread should act as a "Book of Condolences" to not only send our sympathies out to his family and close friends but to celebrate Ray's contribution and how fondly we remember him. And if his family or friends should wish to read the messages left it would be there to view at any time, it could also be printed off if required as a permanent reminder of how even people who were merely online friends remember him with affection. IN MEMORY OF RAY 'GasheadRay' SPEARING - Who always tried to " BRING US SUNSHINE"

How fragile life is. What a fantastic testament to Ray to read all the comments on here. Like many of the others I never had the honour of meeting him in person but he was a huge and positive part of this crazy disfunctional family that is the fans forum. Goodnight Ray.

Thanks for that Jon. Have had further thoughts on this, overlooked he was a mod on the forum as well as being a member of the FFSC. Why not explore the possibility of sponsoring a match next season, perhaps around the first anniversary of Rays passing in his name. I feel quite sure although not knowing him personally, I recognised his face from matches, that this could be very well supported having read all the kind thoughts being passed on by members of this forum. UTG!

Wow that's really shocking news. Seems so wrong that someone can be posting on here so positively & gone the next minute.
If any of his family are reading keep in touch as i might be able to include his name / little tribute in a future book. I did it with Away the Gas & it seemed a fitting tribute to lost gasheads.
