Looks like we are really looking at the stadium in fine detail. Official Twitter account showing we have been to MK Dons today for a tour.

Hopefully no one left any bits of torn up raffle tickets under the seats.

Good, an excellent example to follow, Mk Dons have a superb stadium and taking advice from them can only benefit our own, perhaps the owners are looking at 35,000 capacity?

Wael: What's that Pete? Move the team to a different area? Sounds like a great idea!

I think it's now pretty clear the new stadium will not be 21700. Henbury can you confirm this?!

Doesn't change much from the original plans of ours. To be fair this isn't much different from the old regime going to the Amex stadium.

They wouldn't be going to new grounds for research if they didn't plan to make any changes to the original plans And yet, aside from the two tier thing brought into Stadium mk, the two grounds are very, very similar in design. Stadium MK existed when the UWE was being designed too. I certainly don't believe we'll exceed the initial 21.7k proposed in the original design.

Whenever I have been there the atmosphere has been shocking!! Pretty hard to create an atmosphere at a club with zero history that everyone else hates.

Out of interest, does anyone know if the "easily added"' 2nd tier at the UWE is all the way round the bowl or just on one side?

I think it's now pretty clear the new stadium will not be 21700. Henbury can you confirm this?! If it's not 20000+ (as far as I remember) we'd need new planning permission. The reason it went through so easily the first time is that a 20000+ capacity stadium was part of South Gloucestershire's 'Master Plan', hence why it went through the planning process so easily....

The only 'official' expansion plan was from 21700 to 25000, so I guess that's one tier on one side. However, if it's the same all the way around, only roads and or site boundaries would limit it. Unfortunately there are roads and/or site boundaries pretty close on three sides....

I work in MK occasionally & went to MK dons stadium a few years ago when Rovers played them.
It is a very well designed stadium that was originally built with both tiers however the upper tier had no seats fitted initially for the first few years.
I hope that the new owners go for a similar design as if we really are serious about eventually following Swansea, Cardiff (now back in the Championship), Bournemouth & probably Brighton into the premiership then 21,700 is not big enough.
As long as the new stadium has a capacity of 1 more than Ashton Gate then i'll be happy

Cushioned seats .
went there a few yrs ago and to be fair it's a very well designed stadium. Nice wide cushioned seats , plenty of leg room and great sight lines. The atmosphere is what we make it so not worried on that score.

Interesting - I assumed the initial plans for expansion were bigger than that... clearly not.
Seems the original plans were a less ridiculous version of what Cardiff's stadium is now then?

Out of interest, does anyone know if the "easily added"' 2nd tier at the UWE is all the way round the bowl or just on one side? I'd guess it's only two sides. One side has boxes in the way, and the tote/popular/blackthorn end has UWE stuff (a media and teaching centre) in the way, too.

Out of interest, does anyone know if the "easily added"' 2nd tier at the UWE is all the way round the bowl or just on one side? Actually I think the second tier is on three sides. The executive box side is the one without a second tier. From memory, the second tier at the UWE teaching space end would only be about six rows deep.
