Chill out peeps. Its a forum. Use as many or as few as you like and the ones that you enjoy or want to be a part of.
Ras as for the IF, that has been going in some form for nearly 8 years. It was set up because the. OF had been shut down once before and many people banned, who either could not or did not want to go back to the OF when it came back online.
The first time it went down was similar to this when criticisms were getting louder, seems tvpugh tjat most criticism (not all) has been justified eventually.
The forum and the internet is just an exaggeration of people really. I have not met anyone i havent got on with even if i have argued countless times over 14 years with them.
Chill out and enjoy or use the fora you want to

I think people need to bear in mind that when the official forum was shut we were all left in limbo, and only then did we realize how important a facility it was. We were all left trying to find a way to continue to do something we all enjoyed doing, perhaps it was something we even loved doing.
Now we end up with multiple platforms, some here, some there, some nowhere....
Anyone who started a forum should be praised, as they're only trying to do the right thing....
BUT.... what makes me furious is that i'm pretty sure the official forum would have calmed down within days, the posts would've been like the ones on here and we would have all got used to the fact that we were in the conference. The way in which it was closed totally baffling....
Basically what i'm trying to say is 'all of this should've and could've been avoided'....

Well as the OP I'm pleased to see that this has generated a bit of debate! Which is what it's all about, really. I've been out visiting the in-laws today (keeps the missus happy) so have only just checked in here.
For the record, I'm not some mole from the IF. I joined a there a year ago but had only one post until they killed our dear old OF. I haven't yet looked at the IF today to see what they have said about this (if anything).
If people here want to keep ths forum, then fine. As I said somewhere or other, Ras and his mods in tight leather shorts have done a great job creating something realy good from nothing. And it's a hell of a lot easier to navigate around on here than the treacle of the IF.
I genuinely did not intend to annoy or offend anyone, especially Ras, the Obi-Wan Kenobi on here. I just wanted to know what people might think about combining this site and the IF on a new platform.
I'm not here to push a view. I've given my opinion as we all do, and that's all it is.

Bring your lot over here then mate I worked my arse off on this! It's not MY lot Ras FFS. I meant it would just be good to have one forum is all. Maybe I should not have used to the words independent forum. I meant no offence. I think that birth and death, of anything, be it a forum or business or the reality of the human experience is never easy and you were always going to have labour pains. I salute those that worked to get this up & running. There is nothing wrong in posting on one or ALL. I think things will be much better when the bloody lot of us have something football related to talk about. |

Fair enough Ras, that put us in our place, Debate over. Its not about putting anyone in their place. I do not own the opinions or ambitions of anyone other than myself. Do what you will and those interested will join. Hell, I may even join myself if I like the cause. I just wanted a place to talk Rovers with friends Jon. That's all. Turns out that may have been a mistake. It was never my intention to become entangled in politics or 'split a fanbase'. I just wanted to salvage something from the wreck of the OP. Build it and they will come I'm sure. I really never wanted any of this. I'm not a player or an activist. I'm just one guy who enjoyed talking Rovers and wanted to continue to do so. That's it.
