Vote remain or yous will wake up a racist, slap yur missus, have nae food tae eat an th' world will blow up within a week. i think thit sums up th' "remain" position Innee Aye, because the Leave campaign have been completely above making equally ridiculous and unproven statements. Both sides have been utterly reprehensible throughout this campaign and have further tarnished the already poor perception of politics in this country.

Yes, both sides have made stupid claims. However, the Leave people can be excused to a certain degree as this is a situation that has never happened before, anywhere, so to forecast what would happen in the event of a Brexit is a bit of a finger in the air exercise. Plus the Leave campaign has been denied access to the Civil Service, and the mountain of information they hold. The Leave campaign just do not have access to the real information, numbers and figures. For me, and this is the main failure, and it's that the Remain group, with their access to that mountain of information, have not provided any positive data regarding staying in the EU. All we have heard from them is how bad it will be if we leave, and once again, that is just waving a finger in the air because nobody really knows what will happen. However, they DO have access to all the necessary information, numbers and figures, yet they appear to be unable to provide anything positive. Basically, it's best to avoid all the waffle, opinions and hot air and concentrate on the one real single issue. Do people want an independent sovereign country, free to make their own laws and elect their own government, or do they want to become a region in the Federal State of Europe, where laws are made by unelected officials, with no remit to vote them out of office? and it really is that simple. Everything else is just window dressing. Sorry mate, neither side can be excused to any degree. You may wish to over look the Leave campaigns failings because they reflect your world view but they are just as bad as one another. The irony being that if one side had actually put forward a decent campaign rather than ridiculous scaremongering and tit for tat nonsense then they'd have won my vote. I was genuinely a floating voter and all they succeded in doing was to put me off voting for either. As a result I ended up voting for what we currently have. That's a massive failure for the Leave campaign as I suspect many others will do what I did. The Leave group got sucked in to dirty politics and it will be their undoing.

Sorry Hugo, but you have fallen for their trap. As I said, there really is just one issue, and that is the difference between the UK being an independent sovereign state, or a region in the European Federal State. In your confusion between the Leave and Remain campaigns, you've lost sight of that issue. You've let the personalities involved, and their personal politics, sway your vote. PS - I am not a trained psychologist, but my advice usually involves sticking two pencils up your nose, putting a pair of underpants and your head, and saying "wibble".

Yes, I absolutely have been swayed by the personal politics rather than the issues. That was my whole point!!

You've got a Bulgarian brickie, his wife and seven kids moving in next week.

If the vote is close, I predict the postal votes will swing it so Remain win.

Anyway it's all over for the Brexiters, since He has announced that we should Remain. David Beckham is voting to stay in.

Yup dont forget cameron spending taxpayers money on a multi-page colour leaflet to every adult in the uk on why to remain, but the leavers wern't allowed the same courtesy. The other issue is only the older generation remember what it was like before, others like me had the luck to listen to our grandparents, remember me grandad getting irate about europe, his grip as was a lot of peoples was what the hell have we had 2 world wars for. You make a point of no one knowing what will happen if we leave, well one things for sure i can't wait to laugh at the remainers if we stay in when they get the hump as the country is drawn deeper into europe, ie government abroad and the houses of parliament will just be regional council offices, the nhs dismantled and please dont complain when your either sacked or made redundant and your job is replaced by someone on 2.50 an hour

Why on this thread, and in the campaign generally, is talk by the Remainers of bad times ahead called scaremongering, and talk by the Brexiters of different bad times ahead just 'debate'?
Both sides are at it because it's a low-level and dirty debate.
Boris Johnson is a prime example. He isn't even a Brexiter. He just says these things he doesn't believe, to discredit Cameron because he wants to be Prime Minister. In my opinion.

But Boris Johnson doesn't need to go against Cameron for the Leadership, as Cameron has already announced he will step down soon. Why would Johnson risk his political career when all he has to do is wait? This whole line of argument is just an attempt to discredit Johnson instead of engaging in the real debate. This is what is watering people off, the constant personal digs and attacks which in reality have no place in the debate! Did you watch the debate last night? The Leavers slammed the Remainers.

I watched the debate last night and after weighing up all the arguments, I conclude that I would indeed give Emily Maitlis the best seven seconds of her life.
Baggins is on holibobs, but he PM'd me to say that he thought Ruth Davidson is 'gurt lush' (his words). I did try to tell him that she is a rug muncher, but he reckons that he can convert her.

I won't stand for that and feel the need to defend poor baggins from such cruel abuse. I know for a fact that what you said is a lie because he doesn't have a personality.

It's been a long week.
