Assuming it's not the one who was only recently elected surely that's a worry and perhaps supports what other posters have suggested about the FD's being snubbed? As far as posters calling for SC EC to resign who are these volunterrs who are going to take thier place plus what happens if having taken their place they then find the garden is not as rosy as it seemed from the side lines, how long are they likely to hang around? What I'm interested in is what may have prompted a previously placid person into someone who appears to have gone on the attack. There are 2 side to every story yet many here appear to want to kick JC for his previous complicity in the old regime. Seems very odd to me that he should speak out now. Something has prompted it and I just don't buy it being all about a bus. None of this situation makes any sense. It might make sense if Harman has picked up on Chappell's ties to Higgs and has asked him where his priorities lie. I'm not suggesting that is true. Just that, if it were, it might make sense.

Yes I agree with the last line, but cant agree with the first. IMO the new owners have given stability and security to DC and the players by signing Locks and Browner quickly. We have always had to wait to the last moment because of limited funds before we did this in the past. I think this has edged us over the line plus the genuine belief we all have for the future. Some people need to listen to the Marcus Stewart interview to hear more reasons why we should be positive about things. I think some people on here are being a bit grumpy. I was very very negative about my club when Higgs and co were running things in the last few seasons - finances, relationship with supporters, the decline on the footballing side .... the list was very long. Now, I can't think of one negative about the present regime ......... they have put professionals in place, they have made small changes at the stadium, they have assisted the first team, they are looking into the infrastructure on the football side - new training ground is on the horizon, the academy facilities too............ It's what I dreamed of so I'm personally very optimistic. UTG ! Yes, but all this means nothing without the bus

How about an open bus tour for Jim Chapple, Nick Higgs, Barry Bradshaw and the supporters directors. After all they are the reasons for everything good that has happened to our club. They can parade the 2015 accounts on a giant billboard along with the watertight sainsburys contract I think a de-hooded citroen 2cv would be more apt.... Why a 2cv with no bonnet ?? Oh i get it the engine on a 2cv is almost as laughable as a bus tour for everything ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

But that doesn't explain why the FD's are apparently no longer welcome in Box 1 and apparently one of them is considering resigning from his position? There's a danger we've all got carried away with being taken over by a "billionaire" including DC and the players, when really the new owners have spent v. little, probably only £50K/100K more than NH on the new scoreboard etc. What we really need to hear is an agreement has been reached with the UWE and a build start date & /or we've exchanged on a new training ground, or if nothing else some quality signings.

Details of how to "get involved" published on the Supporters Club website this morning - including details of how much time each task takes. Get InvolvedThat article just about sums up the SC. How to put someone off in an instant! Appendix I – BRSC EC members’ responsibilities. All BRSC EC Members will:1). At all times promote and uphold the objectives of BRSC, 2). Attend all EC meetings (See Rule 4.5). (Evening meetings that usually last between 3 and 4 hours) 3). Aid and assist in the full range of activities undertaken by BRSC, to include: On match days: (Usually for between 2 and 6 hours) Assisting in the retail outlets, before & after matches, (Usually for between 3 and 4 hours) Selling matchday programmes, (Usually 2 hours) Selling 50/50 tickets, (Usually 2 hours) Taking away travel bookings, (Usually 2 hours) Taking Supporters Club Membership, (Usually 2 hours) Other Duties include: Assisting in the Kingswood club shop as requested, (Especially during busy times) Attending Committee meetings as and when required, (Normally monthly) Keeping the BRSC website up to date, (We also have Twitter and Facebook feeds) Any other ad hoc tasks as may be agreed. (Such as GK Quiz, Linking with Academy, Community etc.) Because everyone has soooo much time one their hands don't they! How about something like:- "Are you interested in helping out on Match Days? Do you have Social Media Skills? Able to assist in the shop? Organize events?" Then BRFC SC wants to hear from you! The whole setup says to me that they want help but also want to control everything. Their Twitter and FaceBook feeds are as good as dead - Didn't even realise they had a FaceBook page tbh. It is ran by older generation people who see no need to change - "we've always done it like this" mentality comes to mind. The actual website is not too bad to navigate and has some good stuff on it. The whole thing needs to be more modern. Perhaps they could also post the GasCast link, support the FFS membership, even promote the Young Pirates dare I say it! In fact the SC and YP should just be one entity with older people moving onto SC membership once they get to whatever age it is they leave YP. Come to think of it, what do the YP do? If you look at the list of "duties" Why have they not reached out to the fans and asked if anyone can automate some stuff? Away travel surely could be a simple online form that issues seat numbers etc and then you just need to print you ticket at home or have the email on your phone that morning when you catch the coach? Exactly the same for the supporters club membership! There will be someone within the support base that can make this happen. All in all, there needs to be greater integration between everyone - the Supporters Club, Young Pirates, Academy, BRFC, Fanzine and anyone else looking to assist the club. Whilst I do not have all the above skills, I have some that may help. But, I am not likely to make the commitment with it set out in such a demanding way. This is Dam spot on mate. I could offer help in several areas but not every area. And supporting the club comes first for me hence I couldn't help on match days... Therefore I can not help in the other areas that I could offer significant improvement? God damn. Stupid.

spot on, these guys represent the old way, the sh**e way. Lets get some guys involved with 21st century knowhow. I look forward to you standing to run the club. In fact JC has been trying to step aside for some years. I'm sure he would welcome you with open arms. JC expressed a view which was shared by apparently hundreds of people who were asking why no bus tour, and I confess I was among them, on both my and my grandsons behalf. It was a poor decision. It didn't help that Mr Hamer kept giving different reasons for not doing it. Policy on the hoof I think they call it. As for the supporters club now being free to speak their mind, that's laughable, and indeed I believe may have led to this. The S/C directors are no longer welcome in box 1 yet former directors still make themselves known there. There have been no board meetings. There had been no official meeting between the s/c and the chairman to seek how best the s/c can help in ongoing fundraising etc. Basically it sounds like they are being sidelined. I hope I'm wrong. Im sure if it was Wael they were dealing with this would not happen. Sadly Mr Hamer had a similar effect at Swansea, where my cousin was a member of the supporters trust. With regard to travelling on s/c coaches, I too won't go on them. Not because of them, but because the rules governing what they can and can't do with regard to arriving at set times etc at away games cheeses me off, and no alcohol allowed. So I suppose the supporters club are to blame for that as well. But when trains get sorted they always do well. The last one to Norwich was brilliant, and no worries about the time of arrival. Still, we are where we are, and I don't see anything changing in the short term, but just hope that the investment in the playing side we all want will happen. The jury is still out on that one. One last point, if Mr Hamer reads this. Go and talk to the staff behind the scenes. They too feel totally out on a limb. Talk to them and give them some reassurance as to their futures. In response to the bit in bold above why do people continually trot out that line, imo if someone wants to vacate the chair of any organisation then it's simple you resign, no if's no buts you resign, in fact in the many clubs and committees i've been on over the years, the only people who use that line are the ones that see themselves as saviours as in if i didn't do it the organisation would have folded. When in the majority of cases the vice chair will step in as that's what they are there for As for the rest of it, when you are the chair of any organisation you have to take into account that anything you say will be viewed as being the majority consensus within that organisation, in effect if jc would have wrote that slightly differently , then at the end said something along the lines of ,the following is my personal view and not the official view of the supporters club, then went on about the bus, there would have been less strong opinions in this thread, the main reason being that others would have probably had a lot more respect that jc would have expressed the opinion as his own and not made it look like it was an official sc opinion, i believe they call it professionalism. Again i'm sure if some of the things you mention in your post re BSS had been included in the message from jc, then perhaps others would have viewed it differently, surely any meeting betwixt the owners and the sc would be done by the fans directors. The problem is with the way jc's post was written, it basically can be read as ordinary fans don't matter if they aren't sc volunteers and shock horror they congregate in pubs with the lowlife and an even bigger shock is that someone with a few pennies in the bank who happens to own a football club should not be seen with the lower classes of ordinary fans who pays their money. No one is saying anything derogatory about those who volunteer, but you have to ask yourself if they are being neglected by the sc as jc openly says a program seller hasn't watched a kick off in years, well why doesn't another volunteer swop with him now and again. Another point made in the thread is that the club has met with other groups and had meetings, but not with the sc, the thing is does anyone think that after this the club will be rushing to meet with the sc. I'm not saying jc should step down more just separate things he says as an individual from thing said on behalf of the sc. To be totally honest i know more about the FFS than the sc and whose fault is that(clue it's not mine) this isnt a dig at you gasincider as it turnt into a general reply ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

You can read too much into these things, I suppose, but as Henbury said, he composed it carefully and perhaps there's a message in there. He makes three points that stood out to me: - he considers it true and justifiable that the team is NH's. Suggesting that the new owners had nothing to do with promotion. Which is true, but he felt he should point it out. - he reports that the new Chairman, unlike the old one, refused his request for a bus tour - the SC members, unlike the "drinkers in Gloucester Road", didn't have the benefit of a "Presidential visit". It seems that he is a little uncomfortable or finding it difficult to adjust to life under the new owners. Agree there seems to be more hidden in the that message , than playing a judas priest record backwards ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

So...going back to the open top bus tour...... If Rovers are to have one in future should it not start at the mem and go down the Gloucester Rd ,around broadmead through the centre then end at the amphitheatre on the harbour side. Rather than touring south Gloucestershire ? It is Bristol....rovers isn't it ? Or have Bristol city taken full ownership of Bristol these days ?? Well traditionally our support comes from East and North Bristol, which is now bordering SGlos right? The bus could leave IKEA and go along the M32 into town or leave Twerton and make its way to town. Banjo to Bristol suits many gasheads along the route.

You don't see the Bristol city bus starting at broadwalk in knowle and ending at ashton gate after touring filwood inns court and hartcliffe . Just an observation on how BCFC see themselves as Bristol's team and rovers still appear to feel outsiders in their own city....city put on a tour centrally so people from all the city can get there, rovers hide in one corner for the locals only..... Nothing wrong with acknowledging support in Kingswood .......but it is Bristol rovers not Kingswood rovers.

Better idea, jon, let the entire ec resign and all the volunteers do likewise together with the fans directors and those who work in the shop and hand the job over to those who know best Seems like the way some want it to go seduced by the promise of wealth beyond their wildest dreams. Yeah thanks all you volunteers, but you have become a bit of an embarrassment see ya.

Well I love the fact we didn't have an open top bus tour so that the players and management could go back to their families forget Bristol Rovers and enjoy a well earned rest as soon as possible.Does he expect Lee Brown to be there on the bus to wave at him instead of being with his family to await the birth of the new child? They all deserve so much thanks from us for their fantastic efforts for the last two seasons and we seem a more united club from top to bottom since Wael bought the club than any other time in my 61 years of being a supporter. I now question if those with the OP's attitude should be anywhere near the decision making as their attitude seems one of total negativity. Just because people give their time freely it doesn't mean they are having a positive affect on the club. I am grateful to the OP for exposing the type of attitude he has employed working away in the background for many years. It has been an attitude that has created very little for us and would have continued to do so if the new owners hadn't come in. Thankfully we all have a right to express ourselves too as an ordinary fan not connected to any particular group. I am confident the new positive attitude in the club will overcome the old negativity that has been festering away in the background for years. For once we have a chance to succeed lets all work TOGETHER to achieve that. C'mon Rovers c'mon you blues. i see your point but lee brown (a player & man i have eulogised several times BTW) is in Vegas in his speedo's, so it's not quite as simple as that. the official line was that they couldn't agree a date with the players. last yr several were missing. that's normal.

Talk to them and give them some reassurance as to their futures. to those who say they can;t read all of this thread... this thread is simple there seem to be people who know what is going on and are calmly trying to give some information about it, and others who knee-jerk see a bit of 'criticism' about this new regime who can't put a foot wrong (impossible obviously in all walks of life) and jump on it. The post above is very important and should be remembered in the future. BTW - general info - as the post above says their are sadly rules and regs that say the SC coach has to arrive between 1pm and 2pm. It's a reaction to the old era of football where coaches arrived everywhere and anywhere and were unregulated. Sadly football supporters are now tarred with the brush that we are all hoolies and must be tightly controlled.
