Would you give it a rest! The man confirmed it was true which was backed up by a number of people on Twitter, Why would he lie? he is supposed to represent us not lie to us, Isn't it a good thing that rovers have voted against B teams?, not sure what your point is. Give what a rest? I gave what I'm I titled to do on here just like you..give an opinion. The point is it's a worthless cup until Wembley,or if we play City in the semi final!! It's a storm in a tea cup, nothing more. You say he is supposed to represent us. At what? Tiddlywinks? He will say what he is told and not until his strings are pulled. Hey man: what's with the negative vibes? (refer to the film Kelly's heroes if you need any explanation) A lot of people on here complained about the lack of info coming from the Supporters' Club Directors: Now we are getting some, you criticise and apparently disbelieve it?

BSS has just tweeted confirmation. Good for him Bound to be true then. The man who stayed silent and said nothing on important matters the past few years has tweeted that Rovers voted NO to allow premiership teams in a worthless competition nobody gives a toss about and its time to tug one off! What is this world we live in again? Never never land? Made yourself look a right tit here. I don't think he's congratulating him for tweeting, think he's praising Hamer for the way he voted. I also have no problem with BSS posting pertinent club matters that many fans would like to know about. You seem to have made an issue when there isn't one!

BSS has tweeted that Hamer voted against. I know that's!! He tweeted that because Hamer told him? BSS tells us what is relayed to him, does he not? So it must be true? Everything you are told is 100% true? Like I say,it's a worthless competition which no one gives a monkeys about yet many are blowing a gasket over it. As for making an issue. Where does that come from? I've made a comment which people can take or leave. Just move on and take no notice.

People are concerned because it could be the thin end of the wedge. The JPT (or whatever it's called now) first, then the League and FA cups and then Premier B teams, made up of mostly young foreign players no doubt, in the lower leagues - further suppressing opportunity for young British players.

The Prem are dying to get their youngsters some meaningful games. And when Dyke proposed B teams in the lower leagues it was greeted by derision coz B teams playing senior teams really goes against the grain of football culture in England. And so they hatch a plot to get B teams into a worthless competition that no one gives a monkey's about, because they know no one gives a monkey's. And so now, B teams playing senior teams becomes part of the game, and they have moved a step closer to getting them in the league, which is obviously their long term plan.

But people are missing the point;that if this doesn't take off through lack of interest then this whole intrigation of B teams will go back to the drawing board. Lack of crowds in any way or form in any business and whatever it may be is doomed to failure.

Plus they donated £1m to the prize money (iirc), so that's c.100,000 attendance, right there.

My congratulations at the outset of this thread ( as now amended) were for our chairman as he voted In The way I hoped.
As for BSS, of course he reported what he was told. Isn't that what representing us is all about? He didn't report much before because he (as we all knew) was excluded from all meaningful discussions at equity meetings AFTER board meetings in the previous era

Good on SH for voting against and good on BSS for getting that information for us as our representative.
Now as fans to send a strong message that we don't want the B teams playing in the JPT and if this is the thin end of the wedge the league in a few years.

Either way,the Worthless cup would die a death without a sponsor for would have thought. Its one thing lower league clubs voting Prem B sides into this Cup competition and totally another voting them into the Lower Leagues or FA Cup. Lower league clubs know it would be the death of them if they did. By your way of thinking the Prem Sides would buy up the lower league teams for this very purpose. Which won't be allowed to happen. But that doesn't stop people looking on the dark side. I see where you are coming from behind t don't think it will happen personally.

If you can't see that this is the thin end of the wedge and them getting their foot in the door for a much more serious and horrendous introduction of B teams to the Football League, it seems to me that it could be you who's missing the point. You're absolutely right that it's a tinpot competition that nobody really cares about, but nobody is complaining about that because nobody really believes that this rule change is where it's going to end. And it certainly would lead to much bigger and more sickening rule changes in the Football League if everyone reacted to it as you have. My opinion of course.

So you think Prem teams will be voted in by the lower league teams to field B to teams in league matches? I don't. This is where you all think it will end is it not? If that happens then it's the fault of the lower leagues. Not anyone's else.

If that happens then it's the fault of the lower leagues. Not anyone's else. If the clubs who are voting aren't given a very strong indication by the fans that they don't want it, they may vote "for", in my opinion. Surely a club chairman faced with a choice that may make financial sense for the club, would vote for it. That is, they would if they had no reason to think there would be a massive backlash from the fans. This is why we have to continually show our strongest opposition to this movement by the FA/Premier League.

If the prem promised to chuck a couple of million in every year to be evenly split between the clubs I'm sure some clubs would vote for it. Which I assume is the reason they've just voted them into the former JPT Cup, each club can now pick up an average of £50K, with fans paying say £10 on average for a ticket that's the income from an extra 5,000 fans

Fleetwood Town and Walsall have also confirmed they voted against the Under 21's being allowed.

The teams that voted against were:- Oxford, Hartlepool, Portsmouth, Port Vale, Accrington Stanley, Luton, Wimbledon and Bristol Rovers. With Fleetwood and Walsall, it seems it wasn't so cut and dried. These are clubs that have declared how they voted. Don't think they'd lie. They'd look idiots if they were then outed. Assuming a mass boycott of games involving the under 21's, the closer the vote was, the more likely it will be thrown out next season. Mind you, I think it was very generous of the premiership clubs to allocate £1m out of their £1.5 billion to us little people. Tossers. Happy days. UTG.

The lad who's petition has almost 5,000 signatures has received an e-mail response from the EFL:- "Nathan Firstly, thank-you for your emails. I understand you do not agree with the decision to welcome 16 category 1 academy and under 21 sides into the competition. That is absolutely your right. However, please do be assured that the decisions taken are always done with the best interests of our clubs in mind. The reality of the situation is that the competition is very much in need of a refresh. Attendances have been in decline and it has been quite challenging to get TV audiences fully engaged for a variety of reasons. These are two areas pivotal to the success of any competition. By introducing a new format we hope it will start to address these concerns as well as also helping to create more and better home grown players, which is a key objective in making the change. It is worth noting that the new format for 2016/17 is a trial for one season only and a full review will take place after the final in April 2017. This issue aside, I am interested in how you feel supporters could actively contribute on an ongoing basis. I am keen to develop some mechanisms so we can get valued feedback and insight. Best wishes Mark" If anybody wants to sign his petition here is the link

Out of interest how are Rovers fans ever going to organise a mass boycott when they couldn't even organise a meaningful protest of any kind against our worse ever Chairman?
