That must be one of the softest second yellows/sending offs ever, Taylor's "dive" was a bit embarrassing to be honest when the defender hardly touched him. Not sure about Roos goalkeeping for either goal, particularly the first one where the striker would have had work to do if he'd stayed in his 6 yard box. Don't agree about Roos. By charging out, the player had to rush his shot but unfortunately got it spot on. If he'd stayed on his line, he'd have had all the time in the world to get the shot right.

I hope JJOT goes to bed tonight thinking "Did I make the right decision back then?". WYHHB Na, he'll be chilling - strumming his guitar and counting his cash. not sure about this obsession with JJ as a pantomime villain. He kept us alive that season. And leaving may have been the best thing for us as having a highly paid, and possibly unhappy, player at the club in non-lge could have been a real problem. The person who needs shooting was the one who let him have a 'relegation clause' in his contract that let him leave for free.

Yeah , people can have their own opinions on JJ but from memory 13 goals from midfield in a dog sh** team was some return. He has undeniable talent but his attitude when things aren't going for him or the team is what lets him down constantly, I think what he said to some two Bob Irish rag was foolish and at the time very stupid but he wasn't to blame for our demise back then , everything was rotten to the core. Thank f**k for DC , the squad and now the new owners, but more importantly all the faithful gas family that stuck by them when the sh** really was hitting the fan. I know we all have disagreements on here from time to time but I think we really do have top , top fans !!!!! UTG

The sent off Cobbler did not indicate that Taylor dived, in fact he did not protest at all which seems to indicate that he did commit a foul.

Our fans were louder, I've just got back in with a Chinese, beer and a sore throat Ntfc were nothing to worry about, shame we are asleep for the first 20mins of every bloody game we play About time DC stopped dicking about with the back four and gave em a chance to settle in with each other Gaffney looked great today, have no idea why he wasn't starting against Sheffield over Easter
I've not been impressed with Gaffney so far this season. He's appeared slow and his touch has not been great. This was evident in the first half and I thought "here we go again". But, give him his dues, what I saw from him in the second half was by far his best performance this season. He could/should have had a second goal. Let's hope he has turned the corner and the second half performance is what we will see for the rest of the season.
I think all our players have been hit and miss this season but with Gaf you know what your getting he gives defenders a tough time whether he's scoring or not and today it sounded like he did that and FINALLY got his goal. I still think he's a better partner for Taylor than Harrison but it's great to have options because we've got others too.

Yeah terrible defending for both goals and in both Roos did what no Rovers defender did, commit himself to try and win the ball and try and make it as difficult as possible for them to score. Two good finishes but they had to be because Roos narrowed the angle well. Makes me laugh how the blame for such terrible defending can be layed on the keeper sometimes. More work needed on the defensive side of things but if we can sort it out then top 6 will be a very realistic target. There really isn't anything to be worried about in league 1. Bolton are probably the best side I've seen so far other than us in a very close game they just beat us and now they haven't won in 7 and we're above them now.

Did you go to the game or follow the commentary as Locks, uncharacteristically, misjudged a though ball for the first goal, and Lines gave the ball away in midfield for the second , it was two individual mistakes not something you can blame the defence for. As far as Roos I said "not sure" I still am, I'm not blaming in just sure what would have happened if he'd stayed on his line, would Hartley have got in a last minute tackle, or the striker had an easier time placing his shot past Roos stuck on his line.

When I say lots of work to do defensively I don't just mean the back four or five I mean as a team. We look very good with the ball but I can't remember coming away from a game this season thinking that we defended well as a unit. More work needed to be done on the defensive side of things I reckon and we can push on and win promotion again this season perhaps.

As far as Gaffney is concerned I stand by my comments at the start of the season, he is ginger, pale skinned and will find it difficult to play in hot weather, now the weather is on the turn he will get into gear.

Just seen an interview on u tube after the game yesterday what a top bloke good sense of humour too. I like Gaf I think starting him up front and bringing Harrison/ Easter on as impact sub is our best attacking option. As long as it's not sunny or too hot.

I was at the game and it was 2 uncharacteristic defensive mistakes. Locks misjudged the flight of the ball for the 1st which he would have cleared 99.9% of the time (and he knew it slapping himself in the face). Their 2nd was a lines suicidal crossfield wayward pass which put them through and which our defence would not have been expecting! Harts nearly cleared it off the line though!

My original point was that I don't think Roos was to blame for either and that defensively we need more work though. But we won and at the end of the day that's the most important thing.

The person who needs shooting was the one who let him have a 'relegation clause' in his contract that let him leave for free. Agree with you Martin about us having an obsession with him as a pantomime villain but he brought it on himself through bad decisions from January onwards during that season. He was a class player in that league and a superstar amongst some real dross that season and to get 13 goals from midfield showed how good a player he was. Unfortunately he was an excuse for a person and his personal qualities were way below his football ability and that mattered when we couldn't buy a point. My experience from following Rovers for 50 years tell me the fans will always forgive lack of ability but they won't forgive lack of effort and from March onwards he didn't try, he had his let out clause and he knew he wouldn't be playing non league football whatever. But as others have said, can you imagine him in non league? It was good he went and as far as I'm concerned it was good riddance.... And thank god for Stuart Sinclair!

Gaffney's 'Goal' was actually a JJOT Own Goal! AND it was him trying to mark Hartley before his header. The goal cam shows quite a battle, and tbf a clear push from hartley, but JJOT started it with his initial pull on the jam man. bad day for the toole.
