Na, he'll be chilling - strumming his guitar and counting his cash. not sure about this obsession with JJ as a pantomime villain. He kept us alive that season. And leaving may have been the best thing for us as having a highly paid, and possibly unhappy, player at the club in non-lge could have been a real problem. The person who needs shooting was the one who let him have a 'relegation clause' in his contract that let him leave for free. Agree with you Martin about us having an obsession with him as a pantomime villain but he brought it on himself through bad decisions from January onwards during that season. He was a class player in that league and a superstar amongst some real dross that season and to get 13 goals from midfield showed how good a player he was. Unfortunately he was an excuse for a person and his personal qualities were way below his football ability and that mattered when we couldn't buy a point. My experience from following Rovers for 50 years tell me the fans will always forgive lack of ability but they won't forgive lack of effort and from March onwards he didn't try, he had his let out clause and he knew he wouldn't be playing non league football whatever. But as others have said, can you imagine him in non league? It was good he went and as far as I'm concerned it was good riddance.... And thank god for Stuart Sinclair!I think you mean thank Stuart Sinclair for creating God

For our antipodean friends and other far flung mates. Cheers! My pet hate with these highlight clips include the official ones the club release is that they never show enough of the celebrations. We all want to see more (where applicable) of the players and fans going crazy! The ten-minute highlights package on gasplayer has all three goal celebrations in full. Not sure whether spending forty quid a season to eradicate your pet hate is a good deal or not but it's there if you want it ..presuming it is not location restricted...and you also get match commentaries thrown in.

I was just about to post how disappointed I was with the new cut down 2 minute version of the highlights were. I didn't realise the fuller version was available on the player - thanks.

No probs..although I have to say that even the ten mins of highlights don't always capture everything you'd like to see. For example the NTFC keeper apparently pulled off a world class save to deny Rory but that is omitted from the playerhd highlights....which also gloss over the change of ref that you see in the potted highlights version. Indeed the commentator on the playerhd version refers to both the original ref and the reserve ref as Mr Horwood during that piece on the game...if they were one and the same person then everyone would be after his secret for reversing the balding process in just over ninety minutes!!

I'm going from the highlights but for the first the whole back four stood and watched the ball bounce in our final third and like I said only Roos committed himself and for the second the blokes in space we didn't close him down and Roos had no choice but to come off his line. When I say lots of work to do defensively I don't just mean the back four or five I mean as a team. We look very good with the ball but I can't remember coming away from a game this season thinking that we defended well as a unit. More work needed to be done on the defensive side of things I reckon and we can push on and win promotion again this season perhaps. I was at the game and it was 2 uncharacteristic defensive mistakes. Locks misjudged the flight of the ball for the 1st which he would have cleared 99.9% of the time (and he knew it slapping himself in the face). Their 2nd was a lines suicidal crossfield wayward pass which put them through and which our defence would not have been expecting! Harts nearly cleared it off the line though! Yes but that's the difference between a decent defender, a very good one, and an outstanding one; how many mistakes they make. A more agile defender prob would have cleared the second and a top defender would have read it and stopped it easily. Not a criticism as such, just the reason why they are currently playing in lge 1.

I think we're being overly harsh on Locks. He made a mistake which led to a goal. Can't think of too many more instances this has happened in his pro career. This mistake, in isolation, was certainly not due to the step up in quality of the league. If it starts to become a regular occurrence then it might be time to worry.
