It is so clear to me that Taylor, and probably more so his agent, knew that this move, rather then Cardiff, would help increase his profile nationally. If he scores a few goals in the championship and city still go down I'm certain he will easily line up another championship club. The rivalry serves their purpose and we are all stepping stones. We will move on like we always do and stay loyal, and hopefully we can replace his goals asap but I won't really miss him.
One of the worse things about this transfer is that its almost certain they got him on the cheap. We dont know the fee but the unpalatable truth is city have got him for peaunuts, even if he fails its no big deal to lansdown.
We will be Fed the usual crap from DC
"Too good to turn down, Good business for the Club"..... I don't believe a word of it.
Miss out on a decent replacement and this is negligence of the highest order, Taylor leaving has been a possibility all month, surely they had something lined up, alternatively it might just be what they wanted to get rid of the highest wage earner ?
Sad thing for me is that I don't see Southend or Scunthorpe or Sheffield Utd selling their strikers and certainly not to their most hated rivals!!
Four hours left gents.... please show me the club is in better hands than the last members of Box One! I want to believe it but things like this hit confidence hard.
Hopefully the "usual crap"/ "negligence of the highest order" DC will redeem himself and move on from football to become a hyperbolic forum poster.
Sorry mate but who the hell are you, and what have you contributed, to talk about the most decent, honest and hardworking manager at this club since I can remember? It's not opinion it's insult.

To be honest I don't think I would mind if we get a good deal out of it like 1.5 million but the fact that they seem to have got him on the cheap is killing me.

I dont feel the same as you,i think mattys agent was able to negotiate a release clause for signing a new deal and as hes scored 19 goals it was well worth it. sadly its city who have triggered the clause and got him cheap, also i dont think its the managers fault. Great if we sign someone who we identified as a good replacement but i dont want us to sign someone just to appease fans.
What a classless *******.... "I'll be cheering on the boys tonight". HAHA f**k off.
“It was just too tempting for me,” Taylor told Bristol City Player HD in an exclusive first interview.
“I know the rivalry is fierce, but at the end of the day I’m a footballer and I’ve got to do what’s best for my career. This is what I felt was right and I’m glad I’m here now.
“I want to show my skills at a higher level. First things first we need to get a few wins on the board this season and get away from the relegation zone.
“But the dying ambition here is to get into the Premier League – that’s the main aim for me coming here.
“The Bristol City fans know the rivalry as well as I do, but fingers crossed I can repay them with a few goals.”
“It was a long way off back then,” he recalled. “But goal by goal I’ve got a bit closer. I’m just over the moon to be in the Championship and to be here at Bristol City.
“It’s been an amazing few seasons. I’ve come from non-league to the Championship in two and a half years.
“Back-to-back promotions with Rovers was amazing and that success is something I want to replicate here.
“I’ll be cheering the boys on tonight and hopefully I can get out on the pitch sooner rather than later.”
Bummer than Hogan looks to be getting his big money move.
makes a mockery of Taylor for peanuts
Sadly Lge 1 is treated as a joke.
Score goals in the Championship and you are almost guaranteed a big move.
All four of my beautiful, lovingly produced Rovers books are available as printed books & NEW eBooks. 'Away The Gas' is packed full of over 50 years of 'I was there' away game moments, all written by fans. 'Print That Season!' is an alternative season review for 2014/15, with none of the hindsight that most writers rely on, 'Double Darrell' does the same for 2015/16 but using even better sentences, and 'Back to the Future' is just a shameless continuation! look again tomorrow night and I bet you'll just see a few pretty tame words.
Nothing in there that's too bad, and also nothing in LJ's comments either. people see stuff just because they're angry. I'm angry but I can still read.

Oh well, with Tomlin close he'll probably want to carry on putting on the pounds.

The only thing that bothers me about this is how much he went for. Soon enough we will no doubt find out the exact figure but my gut feeling is it will be nowhere near his market value considering what Hogan sold for.
All a bit strange considering the 10 mil comment recently. I know that was tongue in cheek but still I'm guessing it will be more like a tenth of that!
Ah well won't stop me being a gashead! Onwards and upwards.

I should've thought him saying he is over the moon to be at Bristol City is classless, yes. It shows a lack of respect towards us for sure.
And I'm pretty sure I will still see those same words tomorrow night if I follow your advice. I'll let you know how I get on.
