Thought it was interesting that Dwane Sports were announced as having bought the training ground, and that Hani Al-Qadi is the chairman of the wider group. Good to see the wider family taking an interest and involvement in our club and its future. Seems like our training needs are only part of the plans for the training facility which will be built. Perhaps a sporting campus facilitating all sorts.
Makes me think of how their interest in Rovers is structured and their intents on it being part of a wider interest? We've heard many a rumour that they're interested in hotels and other facilities by the new stadium. Will they look to host sports other than football? Maybe women's football is a big part of their plans as well.
Seems like Dwane Sports will probably own our new stadium too when that starts going through the motions. Correlates with the elder Al-Qadi coming over for talks.

This is all very well but I don't want Rovers being swallowed up into some corporate identity like the sh** and Bristol Sport.
I want Rovers to be a stand-alone brand, not one component of a sporting conglomerate including rugby and Dam basketball and go-kart racing.

Hadn't realised that so essentially as you are Bristol Rovers still don't own a training ground

Easier to market and revenue can be shared.

The history of this site is that Dings RFC were going to move to this site which was going to be developed and owned by another company and Dings would lease it, essentially what is happening now. And it has to be said Dings aren't there because a short Rovers fan was their lead sponsor and had the casting vote and the proposal was defeated by his vote. PS can everyone spit everytime they read Dings as they are a horrible unlikeable rugby club

Hadn't realised that so essentially as you are Bristol Rovers still don't own a training ground It's something done by many clubs , if rovers ever go into financial trouble the training ground won't be listed as a club asset and will be protected. Likewise the uwe stadium will never be owned by Bristol rovers it will belong to Dwane sports to protect it incase we ever go into administration etc .

29 acres seems very big for a training facility alone...

Is it someone who hasn't supported the club for long, or a short person who supports Rovers?

Why are people trying to see problems when there aren't any??? Because as we all know there are some posters on here who are determined only to see the negatives. And if there aren't any they like to make them up.
