I may be naive but shouldn't the SLO be getting in touch with fans here for statements and evidence? This is probably a wider conversation about what the SLO should and shouldn't be doing Sorry but what's the SLO please? Supporters Liaison Officer - a.k.a. Claire the office / ticketing manager. Good in principle but it was a role added onto someone who already has a full time job. A cynic would call it window dressing.

The best way to pay these people back is to not go to their ground ever again So don't support our team? Yeah right. The answer is for Port Vale to sort themselves out. This is yet another in a long line of problems up there. But you are not supporting our team, your putting money in the tax dodgers pocket

Report on Points West lunchtime news now heavily edited to give the impression that Rovers fans caused the trouble and that Hamer is unhappy with our fans. The only quote they showed him say was about this sort of thing should be left behind in the 70's and 80's. it then went on to say Staffordshire police have made 4 arrests.
Shameful journalism once again from BBC West that had the single aim to show the club in a poor light.

Disturbance at Port Vale v Bristol Rovers match
Staffordshire Police are appealing for witnesses following a series of disturbances at the Port Vale v Bristol Rovers football game on Saturday afternoon.
4460 fans with 765 away fans attended the match at the Vale ground.
During the game some 30 Bristol Rovers supporters were ejected from the ground for a variety of offences including making racially motivated insults towards stewards.
At the end of the match, following further ejections, a group of nearly 50 Bristol Rover fans congregated on one of the car parks and a disturbance broke out between themselves and the match day stewards.
Trained Staffordshire Police officers deployed tactics to resolve the disorder incident and quickly and safely gained control of the situation.
4 males and 2 females who were among the Bristol Rovers supporters, sustained minor injuries as a result of this incident.
All were treated by St John Ambulance personnel at the ground. They were all able to board coaches for their return trip home.
4 arrests were made at the match.
A steward reported being racially abused and as a result a 52 year old male was arrested for racially aggravated abuse .
One 23 year old male has been arrested for the assault of an official.
One match day official was arrested for assault of an away fan.
One further arrest was made, a 52 year old male for the assault of a police officer.
All have been bailed.
Officials from the two clubs and officers from Staffordshire Police will be studying CCTV images from the game and the various incidents that occurred, as investigations continue.
Anyone who either saw or indeed was caught up in such disturbances and can offer us information is asked to call 101 and quote incident 238 of 18 February.
Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 where information left can neither be recorded nor traced.

Some other quotes have been removed by the moderating team.

I hope you are certain about this.
I'm not sure naming people on here is helpful unless you have proof they are the individuals involved.
Edit: I'm led to believe he posted this information on his own FB page so I guess that's fair enough that it's repeated here.

Sorry for the confusion. They were the ones arrested not saying they actually did it.

Isn't there already quite a large and active thread on this subject?? Excuse my ignorance, I am new to posting after being a long time 'lurker', but two threads on essentially the same subject seems a little daft? ...and this is your contribution? Keep lurking is my advice, not interested in petty minded BS. Not even my post, just know the place these "action mods" come from, and it isn't the wellbeing of the forum Noted. Thank you for the warm welcome. I will get back to my lurking.

Definately out of order to name and shame on here. But let's be sensible about this, the incident/s are not just caused by opposition stewards and the police. That is clear to see from watching video footage on here. A smaller but similar incident occurred at Plymouth last season when a large gas following did not appear to been given enough room in the away end due to a net that was subsequently moved, but not before certain individuals decided to have a go at some stewards who were not shy in coming forward to have a go themselves. On that occasion one steward was led away as well as a couple of gasheads. We were sitting by the gangway and ended up with a few gasheads and stewards falling on top of us. Another similar part of the trouble is that a few faces from the game last season at Home park were yet again in amongst that action, even with my failing memory I could recognise three or four. I will let you draw your own conclusions if that was just a coincidence or not. UTG!

At Shrewsbury recently,a group of middle aged Gasheads very drunk took their seats just before .K.O. Their behaviour was awful and a lot moved away. However, the tension was largely diffused by a lone steward who dealt with them with humour and tact thus preventing an escalation of the situation.
