We've mostly been crap away all season apart from a handful of games so I'm not too surprised about today and we've been decent at home so i expect to see us play well and win next weekend to keep our slim hopes alive. It's been a good season whatever happens last six games.

Very poor today struggled to put two passes together. Our midfield were all well off the pace and we never really got in the game. Play off talk was nice while it lasted but top 10 would still be a decent finish. It's obvious we lack quality up front but don't think we're far away from a side capable of challenging in this league.

If we can sign Lumley and Sweeny and bring in three new attacking players, perhaps two strikers and a winger of good quality we can really push on and win promotion. Thank god lumley and Sweeny were signed when we lost Twatty to the sh** or might be in a relegation scrap now. Fine lines in football sometimes.

People are entitled to be a bit peed off with the performance, just as i suspect the manager will be. Glad i couldn't make it today now. DC will sort our shortcomings in the summer. Plus Rich's bus thread is a jinx. I hope you're right re next season. To be totally honest I feel his loan signings (with the obvious exception of 2 players) and permanent signings have been average - bordering on poor at best. The permanent signings have made no impact on overall team performance this season.

At least DC can use the last 6 games to experiment and plan for next season. I doubt it...he still has the PT target of 63 points to beat. Two wins and a draw at least from the last six to do that. A personal ambition which means nothing to most fans - only him presumably.

Without them we would have had a very small squad and the majority of our squad would have had to play every game so to say the signings we've made have made no impact is a bold statement. Every player who has played for us this season has impacted where we are now. And we're 8th so not too bad ?

Agree re Moore but don't think the other two have played enough to make a judgement. Burn looked pretty solid today & Partington has looked decent in the few games he's played, I think they'll both turn out to be good signings

just a little point of view on some of the comments....
going to football doesn't guarantee you anything, and to be fair, if it did you wouldn't go because it would be too predictable....
yep, sometimes it's £20 for a great day out and other times it's £100 for a day to forget....
and that's about it really....

That was as bad as Shrewsbury ,Walsall and Port Vale!!! Byron Moore is poor and my cat poses more goal threat than Luke James who is physically just too weak.Falls over when he's tackled.Lumley did well.Need more quality up front. Was Gaffers injured??

Not a big fan of James but even the snake would have struggled up front today against two Sweeney type CB's, I can't understand why DC didn't just start with last week's starting 11 as why go defensive against a v. poor side, and why he didn't just replace Gaffers with Easter at half time. Finally expecting Burns to last a full match was always a gamble by DC even so why didn't he just put SIncs at LB and bring on Easter or Monty when Burns went off.
What's disappointing is win today would have kept us right in the Play Off fight now it looks well beyond us, I blame DC's team selection/tactics for that, although why the players put in so many poor away performances is a concern.

Experiment doing what - we have no quality in depth to "experiment" with. To help decide who gets a new contract and who is ready to step up to the first XI. Is Bob Harris worth another year? Start him a few games? Ryan Broom. Is the lad good enough? Let's see him. Partington & Burn are both contracted next season. Give them a run of games. If DC is getting rid of our strikers then try Billy up front. The pressure is off. Bob Harris nearly scored another OG today and probably cost us the goal, why do we want an inferior LB? Broom can't be good enough if Moore is considered better! The signing of Partington & Burns is one of life's mysteries, why sign them but never play them? BB can't head the ball so I can't see him ever making it as a striker but if Easter can't do better then our strikers today he may as well retire now!!

Thought I saw their keeper make a very good tip over the bar. And a very good penalty turned down. Whatever.Perhaps not.Worst part was driving home listening to Coventry fans smugly waffling on about how good they were.

Sadly the pressure is off - I think we all know the capability of the players you mention and experimenting with these players will not make one iota of difference. DC will see these players everyday in training and he would of made his mind up already on players he will want to keep next season. He will be be keeping Partington, Burn and Moore (unless he can sell them) - they are all contracted. Why he bought Partington I'll never know - is he any better than James Clarke - two similar players IMO - and both from the conference!!. In my very humble opinion DC has cocked up with recruitment this season and he will have to take the criticism as well as the plaudits - all part of managing the high and lows of a football club.
