I thought Partington was good the last time I saw him have a proper runout against Sheffield Utd. Then he got injured and Leads got fit. Think he is working his way back and we might see more of him now the playoffs are a remote possibility.

Couldn't make it today because of other commitments that were unavoidable.
Didn't listen to the first half but managed to catch the second 45 mins commentary.
I have a number of queries. Why did DC make 2 subs at the start of the second half? We had gone in level, so unless there was an injury involved, why use 2/3 of your subs without seeing how the second half was panning out? I seem to recall him saying that, having royally c0cked up the subs against Charlton at home, he had learned his lesson and wouldn't make the same mistake again. A point away from home is no bad thing. It's certainly better than no point. As a result of that foolish attempt to chase the game he had a major problem when Burn got injured, the defence was unbalanced and it's no surprise that Coventry scored after that substitution.
My last point is the impression I got was that James was continually beaten to the ball and dumped on his arse, whilst Moore lost the ball virtually every time he got the ball.
2 weak links I fear. I sometime wonder if DC is too stubborn for his own good. If the players you signed prove to be not good enough you can leave them out then move them on! We expect and will forgive the occasional mistake with regards to player recruitment. Please don't persist with players that can't reach the required levels because you think you are saving face. We would rather you move them on and replace them.
With the backing he now has I think it's time to stop shopping for players in the equivalent of Poundland and start looking in John Lewis.

I've said before we should be shopping for fillet steak , not a couple of slices of corned beef , from your local corner shop. As for this season , title of a famous song, The party over .

There is no evidence that the board are willing to sanction the signing of players that could command a good salary or a substantial transfer fee relative to this level so it looks like more poundland in the pre-season period.

Today is the first day of the end of our season
I'm not sure what the team was doing today but the 4037 away fans that made it to the Ricoh deserved better, I can take losing but not to Coventry without at least putting up a cohesive fight
I just cannot fathom how a team mildly different to that at Oxford could be so wildly off the form we showed there
Sweeney was a huge miss today, absolutely huge
Bob nearly poked in a second Og near the end
And I STILL cannot fathom why we must continually suffer Byron Moore on the pitch , we might as well play ten men
Aside from the fact that as a team they had a shocker, indivually they all contributed to this dire day at the Ricoh
I can't pick an outfield MoM but maybe Lumley the goal aside, can come out with a bit of credit as he continues to be generally solid
We've had a great season at home and whilst mathematically we could hit the top six, personally I don't want us to, because until we have real firepower we cannot continually overachieve on spirit and the fans unwavering support, eventually the Gas need to invest in quality and not get rumbled away at sh1t teams , too many points lost to travel sickness
And I was looking forward to the Ricoh but it was very sterile and I'm gutted that Cov have had to resort to a drum to raise an atmosphere
we are Bristol Rovers, we don't need a drum . UTG
Ps well done most of us for sitting in our ALLOCATED seats

Considering you weren't at the game you've got a pretty good understanding of how it went but the rest I disagree with. Luke James cost peterbro a million quid so therefore he's John Lewis ? Twatty Taylor couldn't get in forest greens side snd we got him for free so he's Poundland ?

Most of our top players over the years have come through our ranks or been great signings from lower leagues players on their way up and this back to back promotion winning squad is no different. If and when we move to the UWE we will probably be able to afford bigger names who will demand bigger wages but that won't necessarily bring more success than we're currently having and I think thst posts like this ☝️ are short sighted and also disrespectful to our manager club and squad particularly after the amazing success we've had over this last theee seasons.

just a little point of view on some of the comments.... going to football doesn't guarantee you anything, and to be fair, if it did you wouldn't go because it would be too predictable.... yep, sometimes it's £20 for a great day out and other times it's £100 for a day to forget.... and that's about it really.... I would generally agree and I've seen us lose away a lot but there's only certain games where we offer nothing and today along with Shrewsbury this season we offered nothing against a rubbish opponent.

It's the middle of March so we can't exactly sign anyone. With Ellis's injury we're left with not much up front. Moore hasn't impressed but he's here next year.

That may be, but would you swap how you feel today, compared to how you felt on that day against Mansfield? Obviously not. Silly question. Delighted with where we are but to lose to such a pathetic team with such an inept performance is an embarrassment. Silly question maybe, but to a pointless comparison, when only one of the players played in both games.

just the usual over reaction after a loss then When you come to weigh it up, we don't half have some belters on here! Sorry for daring to express an opinion on what I heard. Im solidly behind DC but reserve the right to criticise his tactics and selection when it apparently goes wrong. As for player recruitment, obviously nothing can be done now, but in the summer he DOESNT have to exclusively shop in the bargain basement bin. James? Why have Peterborough allowed him to come here on a season loan if he's any good?

I don't like this 'sorry for daring to have an opinion' malarkey though. I could equally say the same thing about my post. It's meaningless! We all have and air our opinions on here. In fairness, my post was a bit flippant. I had a long and difficult day at work and after I finished I came on here to find out the result and read the comments. I just got weighed down by what seemed to be a tidal wave of negativity in general on this thread last night, which in my opinion is a mass over-reaction to the situation we find ourselves in. I know it happens every time we lose. I should know better! UTG!

Hi guys, i managed to attend this fixture as a 'neutral'. First of all, what a tremendous away support so a big well done to all those that made it. What a real shame your team couldn't turn it on for you. I was speaking to a few of you prior to game and you seemed to have fears over this fixture - a mixture of poor away form and the poor results against lower placed sides didn't seem to instill confidence. It wasn't the best of games for sure and, on the balnace of play, I'd say Coventry just shaded it maybe but I'm sure you'd have been happy to take point home from that performance, which, unfortualely, wasn't to be. Anyway, best of luck for the run in and hope you managed to secure a play off place.

He is only 22 now, maybe he wasn't ready for the move.

just the usual over reaction after a loss then Over reaction; IMO we were awful, Cov wanted it more than us and deserved the win, for me only Bodin, Lockyer and Joe Lumley put a shift in. Gafney and particularly James were terrible. Fantastic support, Gasheads as always were a credit to the quarters and our crew had a nice pre match drink in the Casino. Great day-out **** result.
