Just reading their forum, talk about sore losers, jeez. I hope they crash out soon and end up midtable or worse, no less than both the quality and quantity of their fanbase deserves. Bit harsh mate, don't think their is anything to over the top on our forum. Just gutted being on top in the 2nd half and losing it like we did . Enjoyed the game and stadium. For a part time team, we aren't a bad side and i thought we contributed to a entertaining game. Best of luck for rest of season.

Really happy to have nicked the win today, especially after not beating a poor FGR on Monday ,that result more than made up for it. You can see why Halifax are where they are. A team of giants, a big physical side ,they reminded me of Cambridge from years ago when they had Dion Dublin and John Taylor upfront. Every time the ball went out for a throw in ,the guy would just launch it into the box and they would be looking to win the flick on and second balls. Although they deserved a draw ,they did not breach our defence to often and we still looked quite solid at the back, but their goal came from our own mistake. Parkes had two chances to clear the ball, and the second time he could have shown a bit of composure and travelled with it ,instead he get's a rush of blood and tries to make a hash clearance and then get's caught out of position. Even then their forward had a lot to do but he actually Miskicked it ( i was right in line of it ) and the ball rolled perfectly in the corner. Really puzzled with some of the referee decisions again, and as for the linesmen, why don't they get involved ? UTG. I thought Parkes tried the short ball to Cunnington's feet when it needed a long ball over the top for Harrison to chase, having said that Parkes was generally impressive. Mansell looks a great leader and you do wonder why DC made McChrystal captain. Still not sure what to make of White, great cross for they first goal but apart from that he seems, oddly, out of depth, still not sure why Harrison didn't start today. Halifax's sub, Schofield, ran midfield today once he came on and that surely is an area DC needs to improve on.

Just reading their forum, talk about sore losers, jeez. I hope they crash out soon and end up midtable or worse, reading that. Had a read of it and they seem bitter. I can understand being disappointed by the loss but they seem to think we were poor. Our winner was lucky, sure, but we matched them for large portions of the game. Talks of them "dominating" us in the second half, then surely it's their own faults for losing if they don't compromise on their "dominance". Wining 5 out of 5 clearly got to their heads a bit. I do think they'll be up there come the end but them dismissing us seems a bit premature.

Thought you we're unlucky today mate, I think you've got a good side and will finish at the right end of the table. (With us hopefully!)

Absolutely delighted with the 3 points. Thought Halifax deserved a point after their second half performance tbf but we kept going, dug in and what a feeling when Ellis got the winner!
Thought he (Ellis) and Sinclair coming on changed the game and gave us a fresh impetus to go and get the second goal, and Mansell was immense for the full game.
Still lacking a creative midfielder though, IMO.

Have to agree about your team, very direct and very good at it,thought you used the wind well second half and the amount of crosses you put in our centre backs did well helped by our centre foward at times. For part timers your fitness was good you should be proud of your team, really liked your number 9,at the end of the day a very good three points for us

Don't get me wrong chaps, Mansell & Woodhouse are great players at this level. Technically good, but need to drag this team to the top. We are lucky perhaps that Clarke & Sinclair will do that naturally & will make up a good midfield!
Well happy tonight! I've enjoyed a game of football two weeks on the trot!!!

Couldn't understand why they subbed no 9 as Brown simply couldn't beat him, as soon as he left the pitch we scored, with, I think, a cross from the left wing!

That proves we are the Barcelona of the Conference if you can like it. Do you admire the mighty heights of the Dribuild or the way it fizzles out miserably a few feet either side of the halfway line, or the weird cricket pavilion across the way, or the tent for a roof to your right, or your uncovered away fans cage? We are hoping (or had hoped) for something better as a stadium to watch the team but thanks for the good wishes, and best of luck from now on. EDIT: Blimey. I'm sure many of you have checked this already, but I hadn't. Halifax seem to have a nice ground, especially at their (our level). Looks a lot better than the Mem. A proper football stadium. www.footballgroundguide.com/conference/fc-halifax-town.html

A proper football stadium. www.footballgroundguide.com/conference/fc-halifax-town.htmlOur stadium, is without being boastful one of the best in this league and probably league two. And if we had your crowds it would be amazing. Our two massive covered terraces( think exeters big bank terrace) are amazing when full. Like Your ground our ground still has its charm and it's definitely not your typical retail park out of town job . We are 5 mins from town centre and 5mins from train station. Unfortunately our core support is 1300-1500 and would imagine it would rise to 2000 if we kept doing well. Incidentally though % wise we had the best away support compared to home support in the conf last season beating the likes of chester and luton. As for our team, our scouting team and manager are among the best in the lower leagues. We've had vardy, Gregory, Gardner and even scott hogan on our books. Bringing in close to a million in transfers over the past few seasons. Incidentally our blonde centre half(signed from buxton) with the massive throw is rumoured to be the next to go with bids of 100k being rumoured. Number 9 is jamie Jackson(half brother of Kevin Davies/Davis?? Ex Bolton legend) known to halifax fans through our rise through the sh** leagues, has played in a league two below this one the past couple of seasons. Last season we made playoffs training on artificial turf essentially one night a week(thur) as our other training night was tuesday and we ended up playing a lot of Tuesdays. To be ranked among the favoured sides In this league is amazing considering where we are to the likes of yourselves, grimsby, etc.

Any chance we can take your scouting team?! Enjoyable game today, you were unfortunate to lose and I think a draw would have been a fair result. Having said that, we were unlucky not to beat Forest Green on Monday and the ref was shocking today so we were due a bit of luck.

Having read this, you are now my equal second favourite team, along with AFC Wimbledon, as "clubs rising from the ashes" to something much better. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/F.C._Halifax_TownI do very much hope that we do not copy your history and become your second favourite club. Things are currently uncertain. Anyway, shaymendownunder, very interesting posts, and nice to hear from you. Keep in touch.

No probs, as we remarked in the car on our journey back, today felt like a proper away day again like we used to have in the league many moons ago. From the turnstile lady welcoming us, to the meal deal in a brown paper bag for a fiver, it was an enjoyable day. Our fans felt honoured when u started chanting " top of the league, your having a laugh" . On that note though now while you didn't make that much noise on a consistent basis, when you did decide to sing , by god was it loud. Must be hard though sticking away fans in a open terrace so far away from most home fans to really engage in much banter and gesticulating that you need to give the atmosphere that edge it needs.

the 'new shay' as it can almost be called does look amazing. so far removed from what it used to be. rather sad that they aren't close to filling it. can't be easy. a lot of football competition up that area.
