Been told by several people that talks with the UWE are complete and for some weeks now it has been left to us to decide whether we wish to proceed.
If this is the case, and the final terms are acceptable, why have we not gone ahead? Are the funds in place?
Surely we have now reached the time when this whole saga needs to be brought to an end.
NB work has finally started on the Mem pitch today.

Nick Higgs announced to the world on 9th June 2011 that we are working with UWE to build a new stadium. Perhaps the announcement will be made on the sixth anniversary!

I thought that Wael / Hamer have said a few times that the picture Higgs painted about the UWE when in negotiations with the Al Qadis and the actual facts were a long way apart.
I wouldn't be surprised that what might have been acceptable to desperate Nick was simply not good business sense to what are astute Business people we now have in charge.
Both parties want to be the dominant partner and that wont happen ...expecting an announcement to confirm we have walked away from a bad deal any time now. Probably more likely to be announced when a viable Plan B is in motion.
Let's just hope DC can concentrate on the playing side and not get too frustrated with Higgs diseased Legacy.

I don't see why we "should" be told anything just because some believe some kind of entitlement to do so. Just because you have been told or the tea lady knows someone, who told someone else doesn't mean it's true. We have at last got a truly astute family leading us and maybe it's time we showed some grace in allowing them to do things as they see right and no go back to the testicle talk of the past, no ?

So you would rather the club started building the stadium or cancelled the project and didn't tell anyone about it?

If the average sofa contains 50p in coins lost between the cushions, the al-Quadi family will need to buy 80 million sofas to finance the new stadium, collect the dinars after six months use, then return the sofas to dfs saying they aren't suitable.

You need to read what I've posted then you'd know exactly what I am saying. Maybe a few are missing Nick Higgs school of monthly non news and BS over a period of quiet before giving a detailed announcement

Anyone can see he means we don't need to be kept up with every bit of progress (or lack of progress). Gasincider has a history of digging the dirt on the subject of UWE.

I must admit the deafening silence from the club does not bode well. I do wonder about financial viability of this venture if it's being funded by investors seeking a return. Suppose investors want a modesty 5% return on the £40m or so, well that's £2m in interest a year before loan repayments. So unless there are pretty certain returns from the commercial side of the stadium then it sounds like a non-runner unless the family are willing to finance a big chunk interest free.

The closer we get to August, the more likely nothing is going to happen - sorry but true !?

Could be that contracts are agreed but nothing will be announced until all legalities are complete and its legally binding.
On the other hand we've seen every stadium project ever announced turn to sh** so why should we believe this will be any different

Here come the forensic dissector and financial experts who do nothing but speculate, assume and presume abd upon nothing. Sheesh, it's really quite painful how fickle the clubs fans, at least some forum users, have become. Luckily many don't use them and are reasonably happy

Yeah I probably read it wrong. Gasincider may have a history on uwe, but other things he has been pretty reliable. I was at the mem today and saw first hand the work on the stadium so I know that part of his story is correct.

First time I read it I thought you were saying that the we didnt have the right to know if the stadium was going to be built or not!
