No the organisers pulled out because of the lack of support from the club. I am told the non matchday revenues have dipped massively in the past year. The new owners have taken their eye off the ball in the area where ffp counts towards the playing side. Imagine it's easier to organise car boots, etc. when you're not actually doing anything to make the new stadium happen...

There are plenty of spare seats directly surrounding me in the south stand for some reason. You need to stop rubbing your hands together under your blanket fella.

Is there still a gap if they are ahead of us alphabetically? If so do we still need to mind it? Bristol Sport comes after Bristol Rovers alphabetically. Looooooooool

Yeah, they are a shambles apparently. Reckon he'll be gone tomorrow. I've still got faith he's the man to get them bouncing around the ground.

It's not over yet! We've seen them involved in two and three goal turn around a few times lately!
Oh, sh*t, no wait...

A couple more misses like that (absolute belter it was too!) and the inbreds will soon turn on him and show their true colours and it couldn't happen to a nicer chap. Bellends the lot of em! Yeah I prefer this much better than seeing him get an injury. Hopefully his career will nosedive, Trashton has a reputation to be a strikers graveyard. Agreed. It would be delicious if he was back in the Conference in two seasons.

Anyone offering a price on an M. Taylor hattrick tonight? Who? Money grabbing little c*nt that slithered over the Trashton right at the end of the last transfer window. He's an excellent goalscorer and a pitiful human being, which is why I think he'll be quite a success over there. Wouldn't at all surprise me if he scored a few against Fulham tonight, sadly.

GGMI averages about 7.5 posts a day, you average about 4.5. Hardly a huge difference. That extra 3. Can make or break you. You're somewhat off the pace Baggs, unless you take out the days spent at Her Majesty's Pleasure, in which case you're average about 30 posts a day.

LOL, surprise surprise, the mods "move" the original thread so the ggmi thread takes over. The mods seem to like it better when a poster who posts on here 24/7-365(who openly admits to winding up fellow posters, & has been given countless warnings) and who wasn't even at the event takes presidence over a thread started by someone who was. Instead of moving a thread to where most don't read, why not just move the posts that were about Brexit? I've said it before, ggmi gets special treatment because he posts on here 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The more he posts, the more replies he gets, and the more "PAGE VIEWS THE WEBSITE GETS!!" Coincidence.....? GGMI averages about 7.5 posts a day, you average about 4.5. Hardly a huge difference.

I rarely hear anything coming from the North Terrace from my seat in the South Stand.

I'm afraid we will definitely lose some of that atmosphere when/if we move. It is synonymous with old grounds and you can't recreate it in the new style grounds. It's everything about the place. UTG Not true. In some cases maybe but not all. Can't believe people think the Mem creates an atmosphere? If everyone who thinks that sat in the south stand for a match, they'd realise that you can barely hear the North terrace. Also, our fans are lousy at creating an atmosphere. A bit like old Trafford last night. Man U fans are lousy whilst 3500 st Etienne made a racket all evening in a crowd of 70k. I’ve often wondered if this is the case. Sometimes I come away from the Thatchers with ears ringing and no voice thinking that the atmosphere has been unreal, only to read the musings of an away fan who “barely heard a peep”. It makes sense that the sound from the North Terrace doesn’t carry the way the ground is so exposed. The East side of the Mem is 90% uncovered and the only roofing on that side is high and open-sided. Similarly the West side of the ground is mostly uncovered with the terracing in the West Stand largely open to the elements. There’s a charm to the Mem, especially for the under 30’s like myself who have grown up watching Rovers there, and last Tuesday I was thinking how much I’ll miss it if/when we move to the UWE. However it is not fit for purpose and I pull my hair out thinking about how much revenue the club misses out on because of inadequate facilities and a new stadium really is essential if we’re to keep moving forward. I completely understand concerns about moving to a “soulless bowl” and we as fans have to hope (and perhaps ensure) that the UWE isn’t one of those. I would like to think that WAQ and co. will be liaising with supporters to make certain that any new ground is as fan friendly as possible. I am fairly certain they will be but if they’re not we need to make sure our voices are heard.

I actually don’t think McGhee is that bad a manager. He came in after the Buckle debacle (deBuckle, heh) and turned things around nicely. I wouldn’t be surprised if, having previously been at clubs like Wolves, Leicester, Motherwell, even Millwall, he became disillusioned with his position over the summer of 2012 when faced with the reality of how things operated at Bristol Rovers under the previous regime. If you look at MM’s managerial record it’s not terrible. "I actually don’t think McGhee is that bad a manager." Yes agree, because any decent manager would start with Adam Virgo up front in a league match... I'm not sure he ever started him up front did he? In my head it was always a last-chance-saloon, throw-the-big-man-up-top sort of affair. I do remember Virgo playing right back and Parkes playing left mid at Exeter that season, that was pretty bad. To be fair Virgo started his career as a striker so you can sort of see where MM was coming from... I'm not even saying that McGhee was decent when he was here, I just don't think that as a manager he's as bad as is sometimes made out.
