Off for blood tests at 3pm.... When I questioned what 'tests' 'plural' meant, apparently it means 'tests'.... I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing.... Anyway.... A southern style chicken strip, and salsa sandwich keeps the doctor away.... I hope.... Quinoa in a separate bowl to the side I presume? 😉

"Hi is that Jim Chappell?" ____"What if it is? Who are you? I don't trust you." "Just wanted to run an idea by you. We have an ex-Special Forces hard man appointed by the Board, and we wondered if you'd like him to join you on the Supporters Club executive." ______"Yeh ok. That should be fine." Or for those of you who are fans of Kevin Bridges, “give us a quid, or you’re getting …….” (Please note the reference above is for comic purposes only and in no way condones violence against a person).

A lot of families can't attend mid-week home matches as the kids have school the next morning. Therefore how about having earlier mid-week kick-off times? just go to school tired but inspired. You learn more from life than school anyway. It certainly increases a child’s vocabulary and demonstrates a profound respect for figures of authority! 😉

We did it! Page 500! Thank you Wael for giving us this opportunity and thank you to everyone who has contributed to a thread that has undoubtedly wasted many hours of our lives 💙 Here’s to the next 500 🥂 ! …as long as pages 700-1000 are following the construction phase (501-699 for the Town Planning application). 😂

Just making sure "What's for Dinner" doesn't drop off the front page. No chance of that. It’s like an RNLI self righting lifeboat bobbing back to the surface to save us from troubled waters. 🌊 🚤 👨✈️👍

Are you opening a restaurant? 🤔 Strangely, we were actually going to about 2 years ago I'd looked into premises rental, costing, logistics and all the boring stuff, but the market seemed a bit crowded and I wasn't 100% on it.... Then covid happened and all the multinationals tied up with just eat and dileveroo etc.... Dodged a bullet there.... …but the fast food market is crying out for innovation and your idea is worthy of at least a trial. Why not have an exploratory meeting with Tom Gorringe? Wimbledon (tennis) is known for strawberries and cream, the Mem could be known for non-branded cheesy puffs and slightly gone off cream! 😉

yep a ageing fan base who are happy to watch the game at home with a product few youngsters want to physically attend because of our facilities. What could go wrong Devaluing the product by releasing it digitally isn't the answer though is it. But it’s reality and, in my opinion, inevitable, so better to embrace the idea and find a business model that does work for the club. For various reasons I only get the opportunity to go to live games a couple of times a season but would definitely watch more matches online if they were available. So in my situation the club would make more money out of me. The music industry has lost a lot of control over its products via online streaming services and high street retailers are going the same way because technology makes things easier for people so that’s what they do. The internet isn’t going to go away and smart businesses evolve. On the flip side, current thinking in the tourism industry is that authenticity is the next zeitgeist and this could cross over into the leisure sector. So, attending a live event, particularly as many of us have recently found online interaction unsatisfactory, could prompt people to seek out a more visceral experience. I suspect that live streaming of all matches will eventually happen, physical crowds will be a bit smaller initially but attendance, including online, may grow. That increased accessibility may forge stronger connections and, if there was on field success, lead to more physical support to share in that feel good environment.

Well that doesn't paint a pretty picture Is it the colour scheme that offends you? Too much red?😂 Whilst the stats give the impression that we were stuck in our half and only had three shots it depends on your view point. You could look at it as we were the away team who parked the bus and almost came away with a draw. If that had been the case, and we go on to win the next one at home then that would be promotion form.

I know that Geoff struggles sometimes with the calibre of fans phoning in and if it was going badly then he could bring in one or two trusted regulars who were on standby. An ex- colleague used to comment on the darkside and he told me that he was actively encouraged to ring in every week That was probably just discreet counselling. 😉

Whether it is common practice or not it is a question of morality. Do you value your fellow human being enough that you think they should be remunerated for their efforts, knowledge and skills?

No number 2 so still looking for a RB? No number 13 or 21, so we must still be looking for a rationalist and a blackjack player. 😂

Would have kept Ayunga over Hanlan .... Absolute crime we had to pay a fee for him and possibly the only reason he is still around. Would maybe tried to move a few more on as well ... Baldwin, Westbrooke, Harries, Barrett - Although I expect a few of these will be gone before the window closes. I don’t think I’m imagining it, but didn’t JB say he was tracking Hanlan when he was still the manager at Fleetwood, which could explain why Hanlan is still in the building and Ayunga got the boot.

That decision may well depend on how live tickets go although I am sure we were told that it would be available until such things got back to normal. …but when there’s money to be made!
