At least he’s got a readymade song...”Alfie Kilgour’s got the napalm blues, from his green tin hat to his combat boots”, courtesy of Colonel Kilgore’s Vietnamese Formation Surf Team (circa 1986).

I imagine that Sincs might be first on DC’s list when he takes on his next job (assuming it’s League 1 or below) and held up as a living, breathing example of the work ethic and commitment he demands. At 32 I also think Sincs will be tempted to go as his game time at the Mem is potentially limited from now on.

I thought that the issue with Parkes was his off field lifestyle choices which were deemed to be affecting his playing ability and inhibiting his progress. I’m pleased for him if his current manager thinks that the penny has dropped and he is realising his potential.

For me GC said the right things in his pre-match interview I.e. that he wants the team to enjoy the game and to play a more expansive brand of football. It’s clear that they are fearful of making a mistake at home and that anxiety has contributed to the lacklustre performances. It’s obviously a mental thing and GC is trying to address it. If we can get the first goal I think we will go on and win it but we need to be switched on from the very beginning as if we go behind then I don’t think the team have the belief to get back in it. Fingers crossed that one of our CBs can oblige with a header from a corner to get us off the mark.

...just driven past it and there’s a pair of blue marquees! (#conspiracytheory). Ok, so they’re dark blue and the main event space is a silvery grey barrel vault fabric structure but even so, it’s not red and white.

I’m a decent goalkeeper and I’d be up for that. Gaschat v gas guzzlers or whatever they’re called should be good. ...but who gets to wear the quarters? Surely Gaschat subscribers are the most loyal supporters, although we could hold an arm wrestling contest first. Alternatively we could play in blue and white quarters whilst they play in white and blue quarters. 😉

Yeah, fair comment. They're definitely better about giving us news they think might please us. So coachy bloke goes to Spain to look at some players, but they have to make out like he's an international scout, so inevitably we get people complaining that he isn't being an international scout. They employ some consultants about some aspect of stadium design, announce it proudly, and then wonder why everyone wants to know where our stadium is, etc. Exactly, this is my point, they make positive announcements but sweep any negative events under the rug. That's how it seems to me, which is poor form and just shows a lack of respect and also lack of professionalism. I was going to say “lack of class” but then I read the rest of this thread! 🙄

Sunderland took 1,500 to Morecambe for one of the group games. On that evidence, they are certainly not boycotting the competition. Because they don't understand and/or care about the risk that this competition format normalises B teams playing lower league First team competitions. They don't see themselves staying down here long enough to be affected. Didn’t Higgs say something like that in jest after we had dropped into League 2 for the first time when arriving late at an FA preseason meeting.

Definitely worth a cheeky bid, whether personal terms may be more of a sticking point, though. If resources are scarce, would Bonham be a higher priority? With regards to the personal terms, I know Watford are a Prem side but Jak isn’t a first team member so wages, etc, might be a lot lower and therefore more attainable than we think.

Loving the fact that, like the players you bring to our attention, you have stats on potential managers who are currently off the radar of us lesser mortals. As has been mentioned elsewhere, if someone has a track record of achieving survival from a difficult situation then that has to be the most compelling attribute at this moment. Interesting call though. I don’t suppose you have a database of potential owners? 😂

Absolutely no idea. If I find out ill see what I can say. No promises, like I say, I'm not walking the corridors of power, or even holding the door open, I'm just hoping for something to make stuff better. My mate does seem certain that were in for great things though. Spoiler alert....I’ve got a suspicion that Noel Edmunds must have discussed the tragic situation at BRFC whilst in the jungle and Nick Knowles was so moved by the plight of us long suffering Gasheads that he brought it to the attention of the commissioning bosses at DIY SOS. They have agreed to do a community special on us and as a result we will get a totally revamped Mem with lots of accessibility features. Harry overheard what was going on and has used his contacts in the footballing community to arrange a loan squad of Premiership players until the end of the season to help us stay up. 😂

Can’t believe the interviewer didn’t ask the big question! Very watered off with all at BRFC at present from top to bottom! What question? Do you believe in miracles at Christmas?

M32 to acknowledge our Eastville roots, M42 to give Birmingham a wide berth and M11 because you know you’ve finally got off the M25.
