I disagree. GC has been waiting in the wings for a long time and BRFC has given him his first chance to show what he can do. He appears to be just as ambitious and passionate as DC, a tad less dour, says it like it is and was perceptive enough to know who was going to help him in the trenches both new and existing players. Not all managers are capable of turning a sinking ship around once the rot has set in so that is a big tick with regards to his man management skills and ability to change mindsets even if there was some collateral damage. He did what he thought was needed to keep us up and he got the desired result. I know that sometimes it is about luck, the bounce of the ball, a gust of wind etc, but you can’t deny that he made us harder to beat and engineered some unexpected away wins. The pressure to win at home obviously took its toll but starting next season with a clean slate that could easily change and so a fortress Mem coupled with half decent away form could see us challenging right up there with the best. It will take some decent recruitment but TW has had more time to get his feet under the table and GC has been in League 1 long enough to know what standard of player is required and undoubtedly has his own contacts. I do believe the board will back him within the constraints they have set but that doesn’t seem to bother GC as he has said several times recently that things are positive on and off the pitch. I think there is more to GC than some people give him credit for and having had a pretty good start as a manager he will know that a successful full season will do his career a world of good as much as for BRFC. I don’t see any reason why we couldn’t do a Burton and if the off field issues start to resolve themselves in a positive way then a new chapter in our history could be really exciting.

I could be wrong but I think there might be a few people on Gaschat who are experts when it comes to pegging. 😲

Great news, strange timing though considering everything being up in the air with what is fans want to see long term for the club. Classic distraction technique. Shame the pitch doesn’t get as muddy as it used to. 😉

Nothing stopping the supporters club or a group of supporters sticking a load on though and buying the club if we get relegated! Shout that. I have seen enough on here over the years to convince me the skill set is there also! I wouldn’t mind having a crack at designing a new stadium...just putting it out there. 📐✍️😎

£2.50 has been placed on us to be relegated at 250/1 with SkyBet. £630 coming my way if the unthinkable happens. Expect those odds to come flying down, if Wimbledon pull off a shock win this evening. I lumped on £20 with paddy power @250/1, they have a £20 'free bet' if you sign up, get stake back if lose. So if we go down got £5k to soften the blow..... Somebody should let Hani know....😮

If there were 200 people in the Johnny-No-Mates section and two of them struck up a conversation, would they have to move out? 😂 absolutely, no talking 😂 Let’s be honest it should probably be called the Gaschat stand. No need to talk to anyone, just get your phone out and moan online. 🙄

Around the time GC was appointed I seem to remember him giving an interview expounding on his qualifications to be a League 1 manager. One of the major points was that he has been involved in the coaching setups of League 1 teams for circa a decade and therefore knows the majority of clubs and players we are up against. Theoretically that makes him a safer bet than DC was to know what it takes to get out of this league at the right end.
Some managers aren’t capable of turning round a team in a relegation battle but I, for one, will be grateful if GC manages to pull it off. In my eyes that earns him the right to give it a go next season and see if he can play the “silky” football he talks of in his post match interviews.

Change of plan working well again then. It’s not a change of plan it’s a “different project”. 😂

Forgive me for asking but who are the players out of contract this summer who we don’t need to re-sign?

He is a great player but looks very suspect defensively. Going forward he is a very, very good player. So move him forward and put Kelly behind him, as I suggested pre-match, I would have thought that was a better option than bringing in both Reilly & Jak, tonight was a game to go 4-4-2 to match Donny not some strange line up with 3 CM's & 3 strikers. I reckon GC must have watched the pre-Montenegro interview with Southgate where he described the “evolution” of England’s formation from a 3-5-2 at the World Cup to the current 4-3-3 to allow themselves more attacking freedom now that the team has greater confidence. GC took a gamble tonight, partly to rotate the squad with an eye on Saturday’s game at home to the league leaders, and partly because he wanted to try different options when there would be no immediate consequence to the league position. Unfortunately his “project’ backfired, however he did warn us there would be bumps in the road and I have every confidence that he will get us enough points by the end of the season.

sorry mate but there's just something not quite right about these stats Different halves?? 🤔 UTG! I think it is intended as a proof for the “many worlds” interpretation of quantum mechanics.
