Marquis for me. I know he struggled to put the ball in the back of the net but I always thought he put in the effort and ran his socks off for the cause.
Saw him interacting with younger fans, a model professional in that regard.

My comments here aren't necessarily aimed directly at you. I call it how I see it. I see there is a rift in the fan base. I see that MT has got somewhat of a poisoned chalice. There are definately 'fans' out there rubbing their hands, just ready to shout "Sack MT, should never have got rid of JB" This one is directed at you though: "Dillusional", "Oddball" very interesting definition of being polite. Because he has yet to do anything to fill the fans with confidence as of yet. Yes, there are lots of fans that are waiting to say just that but there are also lots that were not Joey B lovers. I actually wanted Mangan to stay on with Kevin bond but that was never going to happy. Do I like Taylor as a manger…? No he bores the pants off me, so I want him to succeed? Yes of course. I hope he does well at the Gas and deserves a shot with his own team of players. It is just my own opinion that I feel he will struggle and I wouldn’t solely blame that all on Taylor should that happen. I’m unconvinced with the board at the moment. It’s going to be interesting to see where they will take the Gas. Time will tell. Apologies for calling you an “oddball” by the way. I'm not convinced that the new owners can deliver financially. I am rather scared that they may 'gamble' with the club. My expectation for a MT team is a high press and attacking with pace. If he can get that happening, I will be happy with that. I don't expect the silly 70% posession stats, closer to 50:50. Maybe even the opposition having more of the ball. I do want to see a Rovers side scoring. Whether that is through creativity or working hard to force the defence into mistakes, I'm not fussy. What we have struggled with since December 2022 is speedy transitions. A sh.it season is getting relegated. A good season is not getting relegated. A great season is being in with a shout of the playoffs on the last day of the season. A phenomenal season is getting into the playoffs (or better).

ALL I hear from JB 'fans' is "he will be sacked by Christmas, but I will be happy to be proved wrong". Surely a Rovers fan and supporter would be saying "I'm going to turn up at The Mem, support my side with Gusto and help to roar the team on to victory" I have never heard a JB fan say that they will put their support behind MT, the support bit is always an after thought. Gasify, I’m trying to be polite and it’s clear we have a difference in opinions - rather than trying to p*ss one another off let’s just agree to disagree and leave it at that. Enjoy the euros/summer and see what next season brings 👍. My comments here aren't necessarily aimed directly at you. I call it how I see it. I see there is a rift in the fan base. 1. Completely agree that people make up their own minds. They should do that whilst presented with information. That's the point. This threadbis providing information. The addition to the thread is that a judge has ruled what JB has said is defamatory. 2. Yes, you and me both. I think we are at a 'sliding doors' moment in our clubs history. If we don't turn out for the club, we might not have a club to turn out for. If we don't accept not being relegated as a positive outcome from next season, as a club we will 'bottle' the change of focus with regards to revenue generation. So, those that pop up with pro JB rhetoric and I see the "this is boring now" as such then we will be in an even worse situation. If the JB supporters don't sign up to the shift in strategy and stay away or bay for the sacking of MT too early then we will possibly be on the wrong sliding door. We need time to make changes, we need supporters who support. We need fans to sing with gusto "We all made a promise, that we'll never part" and really mean it. Otherwise, we might not have a team to support. 😪 You’re a bit delusional if you think that ALL Joey Barton supporters want Taylor sacked….. I know many anti Joey Barton supporters who don’t think Taylor is the man for the Job. I also know Rotherham fans who never want to see Taylor near their club again. Are they also Joey B supports…? In my opinion he will be gone by Christmas. I of course hope I am wrong and that the club can do well next season. ALL I hear from JB 'fans' is "he will be sacked by Christmas, but I will be happy to be proved wrong". Finally, we got there. Thank you for the admission of being wrong. Can we that pinned? You’re a bit of an oddball are you 😂. You can print it off and put it I. a frame if you wish… I’m sure you have a photograph of Joey Barton in a nice big frame on your bedroom ceiling as you seem to be rather obsessed. Tis a bit like the Stockholm syndrome 🥴. Yes, I am an oddball, due to the fact I dont condone vicious violence, coz thats perfectly normal.

The conversation isn't around the other guys actions. The conversation is about JB reaction. I still don't understand why you are trying to defend the action of stubbing a cigar out in someone's eyelid. If he had punched him, I could probably understand your stance. Maybe that would have been more of a reactionary action. But stubbing a cigar out in someone's eyelid is just sick and you are defending that action. You are saying that action is justified as the other person started it. Whatever you say my liege, you are correct, always correct and never wrong. Finally, we got there. Thank you for the admission of being wrong. Can we that pinned?

Two wrongs don't make a right. Why are you still defending him, I really don't know. Still doesn’t excuse the bad behaviour of setting someone shirt on fire whilst being worn. I don’t understand why you think that’s acceptable. Madness! Enough now as clearly we have differences of opinions. The conversation isn't around the other guys actions. Thing is, we ain't talking about the shirt being set on fire (and everything I've read suggests that he tried but didn't succeed) we are talking about the reaction. Whilst you think that stubbing a cigar out in a humans eyelid is justifiable then absolutely, we will not agree. It is just not an acceptable reaction. Thats fine if you want to talk about half a story 👍. 🤣 "He started it Miss" 🤣

We had the same headlines in August. The investment may not be in the playing budget. As you have recognised, next season is going to be a tough league. It would be silly for a "smaller' club to say 'f**k.it' and try to mount a promotion push next season.

"Put it down to experience, learn from it, but why keep picking the sore?" That sounds to me like trying to close down the conversation. Apologies if I have missed interpreted. "What bothers me is that it is counterproductive." It would only be counter productive if there are still those in the fan base that respect JB. Hopefully, pointing out the issues that he has been involved in post management at Rovers reduces that number that respects JB.My concern is that there are people that have put JB on a pedestal, still have him there and are ready to pounce if we struggle for the first 5 games next season. I think that people make up their own minds, rather than being influenced by something on GasChat![1] MT is in charge now, and I look forward to seeing his squad take shape when the new signings start coming in.[2] 1. I didn't say that you did say those things. You are trying to shut down the conversation though. Trying to belittle those that are posting about JB. If it bothers you that much, just ignore it. You don't have to open the thread. Simples. (1) you didn't say it - you implied /suggested it. (2) I am not trying to shut down the conversation, merely commenting on it. (3) What bothers me is that it is counterproductive. It serves no real purpose. It does split the fanbase, which is a shame. In a manner of speaking it makes JB a kind of winner, in that he has a lasting effect on Bristol Rovers. "Put it down to experience, learn from it, but why keep picking the sore?" If anything, the middle east has more morals. Just in some places, they are not the same morals as we adopted. If you've ever had the distinctly unfortunate experience of working in some of the Middle East, you'd think otherwise. Believe me. Please add more detail. My understanding is that the Middle East countries do adhere to a code of morals and ethics. The problem being that code of morals and ethics is in direct contrast to the morals and ethics of a non Middle Eastern country. So, those morals and ethics exist, it's just that through our 'lens' it's very different. For the sake of stopping controversy, let's compare the USA. They have the death penalty. Some in the UK would say the death penalty is immoral. In the US, they say it us moral as it is done in a controlled manner. The issue I was pointing out is that there is no one set of morals. Different countries have their set. They are still their morals, even if they don't agree to 'our' (the UK set of morals, whatever that is these days) morals.

I can't imagine getting pp for two new stands which will push the ground capacity up to 16K will be any easier? Will be alot cheaper. I fully expect us to get the planning permission. We have received planning for 18k (?) before. It's the financial that are concerning. The balance between investing the infrastructure and the team.

He has always been a nasty bastard and this will never change. Who knows why we took him on as manager, the middle east has no morals so perhaps that helped the scouse sh** getting the job. Lock him up and throw away the key, as long as its not a womans prison. The middle east has no morals? Are you sure about that statement? If anything, the middle east has more morals. Just in some places, they are not the same morals as we adopted.

Our owners did say in an interview back in February time the squad would look totally different this season with younger players. The only players linked with the club so far this season summer are Edwards and Ronan Curtis! Perhaps the owners and GF/MT have differing ideas! Hasn't there been a situation where we said we were going for a certain younger player and then we have alerted other clubs to him?

We are ground sharing - with the Gas Girls. If organised well they could get regular attendances of a hundred plus. Small in the scheme of things, but it has the potential for extra bar and catering revenue and possibly the shop will be open on Sundays? The SC support the Gas Girls so I assume some volunteers may do a 50/50. Very little acorns I know, but when you compare a few quid v virtually absolutely nothing going on at the Stadium on non match days, its got to be a minor step in the right direction. It's great the the Gas Girls are going to play at The Mem. However, I would imagine that any profits on , merchandise, food and beverages would be eaten up by the cost of staffing, utilities etc. It boils down to ambition again. There is definately room for a 2nd Bristol Womens team and the potential for both teams to be playing at a higher level than the Men's teams. We should be aiming to get crowds of 500 to 2000 in the first season at the mem and then push on from there.

History cannot be rewritten. We can't just ignore it, it's now part of our clubs history and he is still being associated with the club. Rather than shut down the conversation, maybe don't look at the thread? Where did I say rewrite history? Or ignore it? I didn't say that you did say those things. If you want to. I can guarantee I won't stub a cigar out in your eye. Haha! Ok, it’s clearly fine to set people’s clothes on fire! Let’s teach that in schools 🥴. Both of them were d*ckheads… fact. Two wrongs don't make a right. Why are you still defending him, I really don't know.

There is a way of dealing with these things. Stubbing a cigar out in someone's eye is not the way to do it. Even though you are saying he is a dick.head, you are still defending his act by suggesting that he was provoked. Yes, it sounds like he was provoked. Still no excuse to stub a cigar out in someone's eyelid.
