According to what Penny Mordaunt said, you mean Another raving, deluded, headmistress. I look around at some European countries and despair at the crop of sh** we have somehow managed to promote to the top here and how we cheer for them as if they are even slightly worth it. My question I suppose is whether this is the logical conclusion of democracy or whether it is the logical conclusion of Conservativism?

Not suggesting Rishi's economic policies are right (but better than some of the fantasy economics of other candidates). Saying you will run the economy like Thatcher, might not go down too well in those 'Red Wall' seats I think they have already indicated they are happy to sell out no?

I see that the "non-event" line is still being trotted out over on the other site. Boris wanted to appoint someone with 'a questionable history' which he knew about into a position where he would be responsible for the welfare of others. That is not a non event, that is a deeply troubling lack of judgement and put people at risk. The lies that have come since just cloud the issue. Cope harder, .org He will be gone today I reckon. Won't be able to fill the posts. Plato's 'non-event' playing out nicely before our eyes.

It's not funny though is it,this country is up to its neck in sh**e and no one is doing anything about it. Change is on the horizon though, and it absolutley cannot be worse than this shower.

But, it's more than just us. There are many countries that rely on Ukrainian grain exports. Totally agree hence my comment we can't let this guy hold the World to ransom I agree. Times like these define future humanity. I do not want my son fighting this war because we didn't.

Update from the Defence Secretary today, the MOD estimates Russia has lost 15,000 personnel and 2,000 armoured vehicles. "With this invasion of Ukraine, all of Europe can now see the true face of President Putin and his inner circle. His intention is only to destroy, to crush, to rub out the free peoples of Ukraine. He does not want to preserve. He must not be allowed to prevail. Ukrainians are fighting for their very lives and they are fighting for our freedoms. The President of Ukraine himself said as much: if Russia stops fighting, there will be peace. If Ukraine stops fighting, there will be no more Ukraine." www.gov.uk/government/speeches/defence-secretary-statement-to-the-house-of-commons-on-ukraine-25-april-2022I know this is a simple question with a complex answer, but how and why have Ukrainian forces had such success? I know the Russian military is becoming a bit run down and badly managed, but it still bristles with manpower and arms. Does the contribution from the West make a big difference? Like the Javelin anti-tank thingy? Tactically Russia spread themselves far too thin in initial invasion. Logistics were calamitous so most ran out of fuel half way to Kiev and just got picked off. The troops were unprepared and badly trained kids. Their equipment is shockingly badly maintained. Their enemy is organised and highly motivated and has been getting intelligence from the US and pummelling them with anti tank weapons, TB2 drone strikes and using night vision equipment they didn't have to hunt them in the dark. Game changed a bit now though for both sides so we shall see.

651 deaths . Thank god it was all over a few months ago. Genuine question because I genuinely no longer get it. Who and what are these deaths? Elderly people? Unvaccinated? At risk because of underlying conditions? In hospital at time of death and tested positive, regardless of actual cause of death? I know so many now who have had it or have it now, but nobody seems to be very ill. I can't ignore those death stats. I just don't understand them. Much the same to be honest. Bulk is the elderly or those with comorbidities. Nothing much has changed in that regard, its just the scale that's been affected by vaccines ad strains. If you look at the transmission rates, they are enormous. So deaths will inevitably come but at a lower %. Of the young there are still not many. There's a proportionally larger cohort who are unvaccinated in the young. Its a wreck we are all sad and tired.

At its height we were all staying indoors And now we're not staying in it's still way down the list of causes of deaths. bags, imagine if we had done this without vaccines. It was 4th because we stopped transmission with lockdowns. Its now whatever it is because we have vaccines and treatments. The world changed with vaccines.

At its height we were all staying indoors And now we're not staying in it's still way down the list of causes of deaths. because of 1. Vaccinations 2. A sh** load of deaths Cant fight nature lads I'm afraid. We needed to buy ourselves time to develop vaccines and treatments and we now have a good combination of both. There is no world in which C19 is eradicated so I dont see much other option. I'd have suggested some continuation of low level measures (masks maybe) as that would have helped the NHS in the short term from being overwhelmed (its really struggling again btw) but the price of that is that you push more in to the winter. I hope those that have it recover well. I've just had it for the third time and this time was the worst for me despite triple vax (obvs). Wish us luck.

Crazy isn't it that we now know how big a part Russia played in this over so long a time. An insidious cancer that ultimately has worked to divide our democracy, weaken our international relationships and make us poorer and weaker. Its not something I can attest to having any more knowledge on at the time of the vote than anyone else but I wonder now knowing what we know if leavers would reconsider.

Quite. I was literally on demos against all of those. Nobody has forgotten its just a silly comment that looks to invalidate the outrage for this conflict. Perhaps they have 'forgotten' Putin in Syria or Chechnya... I’m not looking to validate ‘ anything Putin says or does. I too was on demos against the Iraq war and sat in on court cases in Bristol of protesters who took over a plane at Fairford. I trust no politician On the planet ! If Putin is a war criminal so are Bush and Blair . And of course two wrongs don’t make a right ! All power crazed loonies I m o 😩😫😫 We may have stood shoulder to shoulder and we agree on Blair etc. Putin is a war criminal, no if about it. Has to be stopped.

Im usually against banning but Pirate deserved it 1000% the constant sh**e he posted from twitter adds nothing to the thread and drowns out decent discussions on serious matters. I'm sure someone posted something once that he has some form of mental disability so I have sympathised with some of his nonsese for a while but im not sure he understands the seriousness of whats going on at the moment. That was oldie being mean saying pirate must be mental? Banning him says more about the forum than pirate as a poster imo. Can't ban people you don't agree with and posting gore is more an innocent mistake really isn't it. It was the correct decision. A Bristol rovers football forum is not really the place for gore videos. If you want to view gore videos go and fill your boots.
