Based on yesterday's figures of cases per million of population.... UK.........640 Romania....992 Bulgaria...729 Or maybe they're using figures lower than the UK . Wonder why ? Why would you expect the UK to be doing better than "Old Eastern European Countries " baring in mind both these countries have been members of the EU for the past 15 years. It also states on the graph " Number of confirmed cases is lower than the number of actual cases, the main reason for that is limited testing" Baring in mind the UK has undertaken more tests than the 3 biggest countries on that graph namely Germany, France and Italy put together and over 100 million more tests than all the others put together. So could there be a small element of truth in what I've previously said "that during a pandemic the more testing you do the more chance you have of positive results" This is hard work š Weāve tested more because more people think they might have covid , so more people go for a test . As for the Eastern European countries and their infrastructure etc I would of thought that was quite obvious. Simple conclusions from simple peopleā¦ here are the facts (last time I checked anyway, I canāt imagine its changed much) Not so long ago Germany had a positivity rate of 8-10% and 2-3x higher than the uk, suggesting they miss a fair chunk of positive cases. Germany also tests 1/10 of the amount we do. Some countries either charge for tests, or are about to. āPlan Bā will do sod all, itās just more fear driven media hype, which is why Yatton has got the Kleenex out. You only have to see the rest of the U.K, which already had it, to see that. The public do not have an appetite for the restrictions that would actually get somewhere.

. Iām wrong yet you donāt (/canāt) tell me why, how convenient. No, your time is much better spent watching the news/Twitter all day and posting endless negativity. š Ok , hereās your first fact destroyed. ā itās no worse than fluā A *bad* flu season will see 30,000 deaths . Weāre on approx 150 deaths a day , or 1050 a week ā¦.. 54.6k a year . If you're going to scream BS at least read what I wrote properly. Generally, when you use quotation marks it's to quote something that's actually been written. I did not say it's no worse than flu, and I said that its a similar numbers as die from flu in WINTER, which is 90 days where the majority of the fly deaths occur at about 150 a day.

Where do you think most transmission takes place? Itās not public transport or shops, itās private homes, bars/clubs etc. Even if masks are effective, they wouldnāt be used where they would make a difference. Covid passports donāt do all that much when the vaccines arenāt great at stopping the transmission of delta. Wales/Scotland/NI have the measures you describe, and how are they doing? Worse than England for the most part. Iām sure if it was the other way around people would be using it as evidence to bring those measures in, but whatās your explanation now? While deaths are sad, 150 a day in a population of 68m isnāt that much, similar numbers to how many die a day from flu on average winter, for which no one bats an eyelid. Most of those deaths are unvaccinated, and now people have the choice to protect themselves, the rest of us shouldnāt have to change our lives to protect those who willingly accept the risk. You can nosh yourself off to all the fear porn you can find every day, but for the rest of us life goes on and this **** is over. Ah right , youāre just a selfish twat . Cool š Ps youāre wrong on so many levels with your āfactsā . Is it worth my time and effort educating an idiot ? Nope . Have a good day . . Proper ventilation measures in schools , masks in indoor places , proof of vaccination to go to public events etc ?Ā Iām all for going back to normal ASAP but if cases are high and still rising as we go into winter a few mitigating measures would help . I get it that everyone is thoroughly bored rigid with it but just because people have had enough doesnāt make it go away. A COVID jab doesnāt make you immune , itās great but not full proof . Haha you fool ! You think Iām hurt by your posts ? Iāve just pointed out how wrong youāve been on this. Unfortunately, Iāve had to do it many times . We both want it to be over ASAP , itās just you think it is and I donāt ā¦. Yet . I don't think it'll ever be over. I think we'll just have to learn to live with the virus as we do with the flu virus that kills 1000s every year. I was having a bit of a google about the other major pandemics/virusās, they generally seem to last 3-4 waves, and we are on 3. So hopefully these predictions have some merit. We seemed to get a few bad variants last year and nothing really now since delta (touch wood) news.sky.com/story/amp/covid-will-end-up-resembling-common-cold-by-spring-next-year-leading-experts-say-12414928

As usual youāre jumping the gun ā¦.. theyāve only been back a week . 36,000 new cases š I know you're still butt hurt about being called miserable and negative (although doing a cracking job or proving it), but you don't actually think I care about being wrong about a few covid figures surely? Life is very normal right now, cases matter a significant amount less than a year ago. Give yourself a rest. Anyway.. I thought this was interesting. Obviously it's a bit skewed as people haven't been vaccinated for a good portion of 2021, but it just shows how many of the daily death count must be unvaccinated.

I personally believe Swindon will be his last game. I can see the atmosphere on that one being completely poisonous and that will be the end. Our best chance of beating Swindon might be if we get stuffed at Walsall and he gets the boot. Otherwise itās absolutely certain Garner will be putting the nail in.. I donāt see why the court cases make any difference. I assume we would put him on gardening leave and then give him the boot without a payoff if/when heās guilty in either case.

We were quite capable today. We started the game very well. What concerns me is how the performance levels dropped as the game went on, and the lack of urgency after they scored. I expected more from players under Barton tbh. It was the same against Barrow.

I must of hit a nerve if youāre still thinking about that. Do try and enjoy life, itās not too bad right now. You never know, it might not even get worse.. š®š¤ Schools back tomorrow, itās definitely getting worse tbf! Enjoy Vienna, on holiday? I know it very well, lived right next to it for 5 years. Great city! Thanks, yes just a few days break. Beautiful city. Numbers will probably rocket yes. But cases now aren't the same as last year given the much lower death rates. Personally I hope the government holds their nerve and doesn't close anything (or bring back masks) again, now that everyone has had the opportunity to receive a vaccine.

Also from Sky: "France could ease health pass restrictions on large shopping centresĀ The country recently introduced a health pass which must be shown to enter many public spaces, including restaurants, bars, cinemas and tourism attractions.Ā It proves if a person is fully vaccinated, has a recent negative COVID test or was infected in the last six months.Ā However, the restrictions have had a negative impact on some businesses.Ā French retail group Auchan said the introduction in early August had hit its business at the start of the third quarter.Ā Labour minister Elisabeth Borne has now said France could ease the health pass restrictions on large shopping centres if the COVID situation keeps improving.Ā France's daily case rate has slowed and booster shots are expected to be given out early next year." Iām currently in Vienna and itās just seen as standard that vaccine proof is needed to get into bars etc. It basically allows a place to go maskless. People do have the option to get in via test as well, though.

"Epidemiologist says rapid tests are more accurate than we thinkĀ There's been plenty of conflicting data on how effective rapid coronavirus tests are, particularly among asymptomatic people.Ā But Michael Mina, an epidemiologist atĀ Harvard Public Health/Medical School, has argued such tests are more effective than some people think." He explains this is because they are often compared with PCR tests, which will still return positive tests even after people have stopped being infectious (a period of between three to seven days).Ā You can read his full thread below.Ā Clearly werenāt that accurate when all 4 of my rapid tests came back negative right after my Covid symptoms started.. hasnāt been all that uncommon speaking to others I know

We were decent enough for the first half but Oldham were the worst team Iāve seen since national league. That said it is a building block that we can hopefully build on. Safe to say that, mentally, that was very much needed. Some of our players have ever only known negativity and criticism (not unjustly) while with us. It doesnāt even bare thinking about had we lost..

Whereās the player ratings Steve? Good post.
Take 5 of the best 6 midfield/forward players from any team and they would struggle. People couldnāt seem to grasp that before throwing a tantrum two games into the season. Suprise suprise, as they come back we are improving. Those players still arenāt fit, so another 3-4 weeks patience will be needed.
