hehe. Best of league 2 or worst of league 1? When did mediocrity in League One become so far out of reach... ![>:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/angry.png)

A shame for sure. However, perhaps its ok that this takes a bit of pressure off and is on the back burner for a bit? Gives us no excuses addressing the most important issue at the moment - the fact we are s*** and run like a Sunday market stall selling papier-mâché models of Russell Brands head. Have you been to one of the Mem carboot sales then? ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

Which (if any) contained potentially libellous comments? Answer 'no comment' if i) true or ii) potentially libellous, or 'no' if they were made up. Players drinking, players behaving badly on nights out, players doing drugs, players dealing drugs, players involved in other illegal activities on nights out...?
Which 'fair minded' supporters questioned 'in which direction' the forum was heading?
Clarify 'impossible for the club to moderate the forum to the standards required'...do you actually mean 'impossible for the club to run the forum without (probably true) rumours and/or criticisms being published on the official club forum'?
Have you succeeded in keeping the fans informed through 'official channels'? Most news stories are still published first on the 'other' forums...?
When is the first live forum when I (as a pay-on-the-day but 24-year-long fan of the club) can ask the board a direct question? And will I be guaranteed an answer?
The forum had 1000 members online as we were relegated and overall close to 10000 members. It's bad enough to be wrong, but can you at least correct it now please?

Quick summary - so far we've had entries from Hugo Admin, @mcchisel, gregsy, BishopstonBRFC, templegas78, Quartermaster, Gasper, @hugotheelder, Gas Go Marching In, Russgas, inee, RD, seanclevedongas, Rovers 12th Man, and I will publish my predictions before the deadline which is 9am Wednesday 11th. I've had a few questions and suggestions which I'll cover quickly here. You can edit your predictions up until the deadline. Obviously the board will tell us all you've edited your post which is fine. I will be working out the scores from my records of your predictions, not what the board says, so probably better to PM me if you're wanting to change what you've already guessed based on injuries, form, local weather and/or the threat of riots etc etc... By my reckoning we've got a few regular posters on the board who are not yet playing...I'll only pester people directly once, but Finnish Gas, @kingswoodpolak, fanboy, mehewmagic, WeAreTheGas, Jon the Stripe, peterparker, dinsdale and ANYONE ELSE who wants to play, it's simple and fun!

How much longer do we feature on the league 2 page of the website and when do we become "Non league" It's about to happen.... ...Cambridge, Shrewsbury and Stevenage stories are now appearing on the BBC League Two page....it probably means the tables will be changed soon... ![;-|](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/squint.png) *shudders*

It is clear from the Torquay United example above the higher category we are the more funding we will get. This is another area where the Board can explain what level we are? the current funding level? our aims and objectives for improvement? If the Board can cover/publicise this sort of issue at the moment it perhaps would take some of the pressure off them on other issues. If the rumours from parents with kids at the academy are true, I doubt a factual update from the board will take any pressure off them... ...If I remember rightly, half the funding goes after one season of non-league, the rest after two. But let's not forget that academy funding from the 'big boys' isn't the bonus it seems - the deal means that yes we can fund youth development, and yes do good work in the community, BUT any prospect we find and develop can be whisked away by a big club for a nominal fee - certainly 50-75% less than we could have got for an equivalent player 5 years ago before the Elite Player Performance thingy came in. If we can still afford to fund it, let's hope we can find a gem or two whilst we're out of the league.

As far as I can tell (from reading their website) Federbet simply looks at matches where odds change by 'more than a defined limit' and then assumes the matches were fixed....vaguely scientific I guess, but not investigative and not evidence...

I have nothing against Bristol rugby fans they enjoy their sport as much as the next man. BUT it was fantastic to see yet another one of the so called white knights sporting enterprises FAIL.
And it will be hilarious to watch trashton get cut up during the winter. And to see them wear the same colours as Gloucester. Hilarious to watch fellow sports fans watch League One football and Championship rugby whilst we entertain and/or visit Alfreton, Welling and Gateshead?

Lol so far nearly everyone who has read and posted about the statement concur that a big budget does not equal success...hope the club/board are reading and taking note... Big Budget + Success = happy fanbase Big Budget + Failure = sad and angry fanbase Small Budget + Success = happy fanbase feeling nostalgic Small Budget + Failure = sad fanbase TBH if they don't already know this then they should take a long hard look at themselves. TBH, after 5/6/7 season chasing the first option, I honestly wonder why they're not now going for option 3...

...is anyone reading them?
I wasn't until today (when a day off and boredom got the better of me) and I started with the Nigeria one...
...well researched (to the point of obsession), but what is the point? No Nigerian player has ever played for Rovers in the league (and yet it takes six paragraphs to tell us this), so whilst I respect the writers who have researched this (and I hope they were paid to do so), are we yet again filling column inches because there is no positive news coming out of the club?

I care less about the stadium than the signings this summer...but I can't see how or why the building will start sooner rather than later! Start now (ie tomorrow) and we still (probably) miss the start of the 2015/16 season, so it's reasonable to guess there is at least a season's delay...waffle will not deflect this, and only more money (which we don't have) will change it. By sooner rather than later I meant that at least they are actually looking at clearing the way for the work to begin rather than our previous update of, err, nothing to report. To be honest after reading some worrying rumours about Sainsbury's that have been doing the rounds lately that comment just reassured us that it is all still going ahead, albeit later than initially planned. I don't care any less about the stadium myself, it is vital to our whole existence to me and NEEDS to happen if we ever hope to be anything more than a poor run down old conference outfit. The players we could attract in the UWE would be far superior to what the Mem attracts. I agree the UWE is vital to our future....but this season (and probably next) I want players who want to play at the Mem...there's been lots said about our history (especially at Twerton)....it seems to me we need to be planning for at least two more seasons at the Mem, and that means players who might get us to the UWE but also who might never play there...

The only thing to take from that is the stadium update I guess. At least it seems to suggest the building will start sooner rather than later.
Big budget? Well that worked well in league 2, and even in league 1 we were fed the same crap. Really can't wait for the signings to begin and we have something more than a beach towel or going to a car boot sale to read about. Nothing new to get massively excited about but provides some reassurance nonetheless. It's a place-holder. In parts it's worded awkwardly, in others it's worded carefully. First of all, why " we are working closely with Darrell Clarke"...it just sounds like 'them and us'. Please stop talking about money...start talking about how we will win 30+ league matches without using any of the terms budget/costs/money and I'll start thinking that next season will be different to any of the last 4/5/6... Unless the build-time has once again shrunken, there are no longer 62 weeks to the start of 2015/16, so at least come out and tell us there will be a minimum of a years delay...it's really not rocket science any more...

If we surrender our share in the Football League to Cambridge United are we leaving Wycombe Wanderers, Football League and the FA an easy "get-out"? Not really, it's an obligation we have...Wycombe also had an obligation regarding contracts and payments which they may or may not have met, so no reason they (at some point) could not be asked/required to give their share to us...

“We will also need a budget which must be compelling and detail that the club will not only meet their requirements for next season but how they will deal with the current debt, including an impending winding-up order from Revenue and Customs.” Strudwick added: “I don’t want to prejudge this matter but, if a club fails to pay off their football creditors, they face being expelled from the competition and that includes the Conference North or South. “In my opinion, football creditors are the wages owed to players and staff, other football clubs, the Football Conference, FA and the County FA. First of all, have we had to submit a budget to the Conference? And secondly, why is there no definition of 'Football Creditors' - why is it left to the Conference General Manager to use his 'opinion'?
