Watched on Ifollow. A couple moments for them... but I actually thought we limited them pretty well. Need to figure out those transistion moments- but that's where Finley/ Ward returning will be helpful. But for a brand new, pretty inexperienced that was good going.
Love beating Caldwell. He's a proper promoter of Banned word tactics.

They were worst team to visit the mem. We've got to right that wrong. I think we're going to bang up for revenge. 5-1 Gas. The weather didn't help either side on the day, they did follow up that win with a 2 1 win at Barnsley though. So it's not going to be a walk in the park. With Taylor returning, they will be up for the game. I'm going for a 2 2 draw, like last season. If everyone is fit, I would start with same team as last week. Friend means we can switch from 3 to 4 at the back, depending on how the game goes. Wilson will be up for the game and will probably get some stick, being ex Plymouth. It will be nice to have a lot of attacking options on the bench and some fresh legs. First time we have had no mid week game in a while as well. Weather was a huge contributor. Agree.

The bigger picture: - get Taylor a player that can play Collins/ Brown position in a manner he desires. He's clearly not seeing it function as would like/ expect. It doesn't have to be a marquee player but someone he trusts to put in a shift in an effective manner. We want to see the shoots of next season now. That's the bigger picture. We did bring in two attacking midfielders?? If they take up that role- great. But it feels they still block the path of players were actually likely to have next season- if we're following this big picture logic. You can't pretend the plan was land these guys with an hour left. You probably will but its absurd. The board deserve credit for signing what they have but "giving up and focusing on next season" as you imply isn't fair. I've got 40% of my season ticket remaining. They are having to sell South stand tickets heavily discounted. I want to see some shoots for next season. I find the bigger picture stuff patronising. The positive spin is that they've decided there isn't alot avaliable right now. Similar to many of the 92. Its been a dead January. They've signed 3 loan players who they believe will give the most to the squad in the short term. Developing 6 kids for other clubs isn't big picture play. It's to have a crack now.

Absolutely, they failed Barton in the last window.. which ultimately lead to his sacking. They said his sacking was down to league position, yet have not backed the new manager suitably in this window to improve that. MT is now left with less striking options than Barton had, and we didnt have enough then. crazy. Good job L1 is sh** in quality this season but what an opportunity we had Barton was backed and when we missed out on JCH, we signed Martin on a decent wage. Taylor said himself we will probably wait until the summer and a lot of fans agree with that decision. We only play with 1 striker anyway, we have two strikers and signed two more attacking midfielders. Some fans don't look at the bigger picture and only think about the short term. If we can get better value during the summer, why get worse value now, so we can finish a few places higher when we're not going up or down?? The bigger picture: - get Taylor a player that can play Collins/ Brown position in a manner he desires. He's clearly not seeing it function as would like/ expect. It doesn't have to be a marquee player but someone he trusts to put in a shift in an effective manner. We want to see the shoots of next season now. That's the bigger picture.

I sit somewhere in between...
I don't mind selling collins. I don't mind signing kids. I don't mind loan signings. I don't mind letting some leave.
My problem is with strategy and execution. No one will convince me the strategy was to luck out in the final hour of the window. I hope (and think) we might have.
There's no way to connect the dots to understand the plan. I don't blame taylor, I'm quite fond of him. The board come across as too reactive, moving on the fly. I think they've done well with backs to the wall but better planning would make far stronger club.

Overall I'm content with the signings we've made. But people suggesting that MT is making a wise play to reset in the summer are being foolish.
The average manager tenure is 11 months. A slow start next season could cost him. MT wanted players. He said so- over and over again. Hopefully these loans work out, but again there's an incongruous logic to the planning for the future argument. How much game time do Macca and Connelly get with these lads in...

I'm not sure that a clear out of players that were out of contract in June is a masterstroke...
Those that explain this window as planning for the future shouldn't be able to reconcile developing other clubs players for the future.. but They will.

Look I hope these two kids are quality.
But if they are this window will feel like winning the lottery rather cashing in on hard work.
We have to sort out the recruitment process. Rose tinters will suggest this is moaning but 3 late loans wasn't Taylors plan.

Cox Crama Vale Baggott Christina (if we get him) Vaughan
On loan... Worries me that we can't play most these.

I never expected a big name. Ennis would've smashed my expectations. Gutted we havent got a striker. I don't think taylor wants to play Martin and Marquis together and I want to see what we can do with 2 strikers.

Niall Ennis was the forward we were after Dan Hargraves reporting ‘Almost’ ‘nearly’ come to mind. Let me guess we don’t have a back up option. On the 31st you believe he was the back up.

I'm not gonna put myself through anymore of transfer deadline day. Start the window needing a striker, sell our best striker.
I hope a rabbit is pulled and this message looks foolish. But regardless we need to address the recruitment set up. Hugely faltering right now.

No point in spending money for the sake of it we are in relegation form. Can't believe some people on here. We will lose Saturday guaranteed and then what. This doesn't add up. Exeter are dross. The worst team I've seen all season. If we have "no chance" then we really need to worry. If we're that bad- we should be signing 4 or 5.

I'll be really disappointed if we don't get a second striker. Taylors system is clearly designed to get a particular output from that position.
It's impossible to judge how MT is doing without the backing. Without being allowed the tools to show a "good MT side". Leaving the reset till July means even if it goes wrong we'll have to stick with him because we've given such a false start. This second half of the season should've been a window into next, instead it feels like treading water.
The backing is incongruous with the decision to hire a new manager.

Imagine if we hadn’t extended Martin. And if the Conteh deal didn't get saved from the bin.

It’s started…… they’re already getting wound up ! 😂 Bit odd to spend all day on the forum enthused by our transfer activity. How do you rate our window?
