I think cogs deserves big credit. Reacted quickly when they got the red card. Went 3 up top (albeit briefly).
We should all remember hes learning too.

Personally- I dont think its controversial in the slightest.
Its fortunate because it's actually a poor touch from Nicholls that leads him to try and "protect" the ball. But an opponent clearly runs right into the back of him without any attempt to win the ball. Consequently Nicholls is impeded.
Watch the challenge from defenders perspective. It becomes much easier to call it a pen. The increase in diving has led us to become sceptical about any attacker going down in the box. We very rarely look at challenges as "were they legal" - apposed to "did they have to go down"
Simply clumsy defending- pen.

I think brexit will be sorted before the take over and f m sorted BREXIT isn't going to happen. Shamefully, Parliament has overruled The People and we are now being run by a minority dictatorship. Tuesday 3rd September 2019 The day democracy died. My advice to anyone with buy to let property - Sell it now. Anyone with shares in a former nationalised industry, sell them now. Anyone with potential inheritance wealth, give it to your kids now. Anyone lucky enough to be able to retire, Do it now before your pension is confiscated and destroyed. Project fear much? I didnt realise the EU were taking your inheritance?

I think we look the better side. Quite comfortably so- but we gave them a lead and the subsequent motivation that follows.
Both keepers look poor. Both teams should be looking for 10 shots this second half.
Hoping our Dutchman keeps his head.
Be great if the Thatchers Terrace give him the bounce they gave Andre a couple years ago. Sadly, I think it might go the other way.

Naturally very sad. But I wanted to considered practical implications for us?
Mods feel free to merge if you think that this should be done. But I figured as this is a more selfish stance perhaps it justifies it's own thread.
So were down 1 match possibly two. This potentially impacts us in many ways:
Should season ticket holders get refunded?
How will the loss of 2/23 match day revenue affect rovers?
Will we get compensated?
Has this affected our transfer policy?
Does this impact FFP? Ie could we or others breach our limit given revenue has fallen? What should be the punishment if so?

Another strong performance. The shambles at Coventry seems a long time ago. Onwards and upwards. KB talked about having restored pride in the shirt which seems a fair observation. What’s The football like these days? I can’t get a sense of what it is on the radio? Is it still a lot of long ball just with better end product now? Id say the first word is combative. It looks attractive when both our strikers are playing well. Ie when Smith and Nichols can find room. It's a little bit unfair to suggest theres no creativity but that seems the obvious question mark. My only concern going forward is whether we have the man power for this formation. We certainly have the wing backs. We might be a centre midfielder light should we get an injury. And I would still like a wide midfielder to take us forward.

2 assists for Hare now.
And for everyone who says that ogogo cant pass- that's a beautifully spread ball.

To be honest, I think the name "Bury" is f**ked now.
Will make many transfer targets nervous about joining them. New owners will not ne able to wave away the apprehension.

But nobody else seems to suggest the ALQ's have any direct involvement with the Fruit Market development, so how can anyone connected to them say the new stadium is progressing well? Could an estate agent sell your house without you knowing about it? Exactly. There is no way on this earth the ALQs don’t know exactly which way up is with this deal, who’s involved, at what stage it’s at and what the goal is. Perhaps the ALQs weren’t the instigators of this merger/takeover and the purchase of the land, but that is such a moot point that only the ones with egos are worrying about it. What is important is the they recognise we need a stadium. They cannot build it themselves as well as service the running debt of the club so are looking at ways to minimise their risk and losses without putting the future of the club in bigger danger. We know our losses are growing, but we don’t know how much of the losses DS are prepared to absorb themselves and until we do, everyone needs to stop the mud slinging allowing the club and the respective parties to get it over the line and then see where we are. I gather you're a relation to one of "the other" parties... What does bother by it all is people like Knowall make these other parties look bad... Theres an element of respect that those who invest their time and resource into rovers. And Knowall presents the other guys as a "hostile takeover." Maybe theres more unanimity than that.

I think I might be the least in the know person around... so this has no weight but I dont see the Wael or the family leaving.
I also think they will at a minimum be part of an ownership that delivers the stadium.
So I'm pretty relaxed.

Something and nothing - I do not think so. Firstly, perhaps I should declare my real self. I am Roy Cowell. supporter since 1947, yes, I may not look 76 ( I hope I don't) but I am, a member of the President's Club since the 1960s and Chairman of the PC during the first few years at the Mem. In which I like to think I played a major part in securing the ownership for BRFC. I stand by my pseudonym because I do know a lot about what has happened to BRFC. I class myself as a friend and supporter of the Dunford family, Denis, Geoff, Sharon and Peter. All of whom, have my greatest respect. I am also a friend and supporter of both of the giants who locked horns, Edward Ware and John Harding who are the subject of this thread. For those who do not know Edward, has been a fantastic supporter, Director, and backer of BRFC since he first became a President's Club member when really just a boy (a long time ago). John Harding has been a major supporter and wise head and confident of Denis and Geoff and Vernon Stokes during the important years when the Football Club re-located from Eastville to Bath and back to Bristol over many years of BRFC history. Why should such giants of BRFC history be involved in such angst? well to me. it is obvious. It takes years to understand the heartbeat of a football Club, and Ed and John are passionate people at the sharp end of our Club, who are currently frustrated because the future of the Club is in the hands of those who do not know the history and maybe do not even care? When this Club becomes the property once again, of those who care for all the right reasons, we will 'have our Club back' I am confident that will be soon. Absolute tosh. 2 men argue with each other. And it's 3rd person's fault. Couldn't be related to your chums? You clearly dont know what the argument is about. 'Its obvious' contexts this as a punt or a guess. You've carefully connected the dots that fit your own narrative. For all you know it could be over whether its pronounced tomato or tomato. It is conjecture that you spreading. You haven't been correct for a very very long time. These takeovers were supposed to happen before last Christmas. Please stop putting your own opinion on some sort of pedestal. Unfortunately there are some people dim enough to believe it. Ultimately, you have my respect for your past involvement in the club. I dont know a single board member past or present. All I want is the best for Bristol Rovers I dont think the stirring helps.

Defensively we look decent. Tone is a huge part of it. What is more- our reputation doesn't put the fear into others. Teams do have a bit of ago at us. If we can get the attack going opponents will second guess themselves a touch more.

I'd suggest they dont work anyway?
At the same time- it's a poke in the eye if it's not accompanied by loan changes.
By view would be that clubs should only be able to loan out "5" players at a charge...
That way at least getting these players on loans is fairer.

has not had a run of matches has he ? also he might not be a championship player but he scored a fair few for us didn't he ? 9 goals from 27 starts for the sh** is pretty decent. Imo- silly to sell. Little Lee has had a rotation of many many players for 10th.

This thread is a joke. And a perfect example of why communication is water poor.
Were interested in a site. It could involve outside investment/ a takeover...
That's all folks. Sit tight.

Bennett looked good.
Nice one two with Jonno. And his quick dipping shot caused the spill that led to the first goal.
In my view he should be starting as either the tip of diamond or on the left most weeks.
At the same time we competition there too.

GC keeps saying he wants battlers and fighters in the team. Maybe he simply doesn't like the idea of recruiting so-called creative players as they don't match his "heart on the the sleeve, battle for every ball" philosophy. This is more a musing rather than an opinion and I have nothing to base this on another than putting two and two together from his interviews during his time as boss, and making five. If it is indeed his philosophy, then we're going to be in trouble. We did well to stay up last year and for that I commend GC, but I think some Gasheads would prefer to go down at least attempting to play adventurously, than to stay up by the skin of our teeth playing narrow turgid football. I must say though that I haven't seen either of the matches so far this season and I can only base these musings on what I read on here from trusted posters. It's really an interesting musing because when you couple GC saying all this heart on the sleeve stuff, and then on the other hand saying he wants pace in the team so we can play wide, yet consistently plays a narrow team. It all seems a bit... Patchy. We have two decent enough, pacey enough wingers in Rodman and Bennett. We have fairly pacey wing backs now in THD and Little/Hare. Yet GC continues to go into his interviews saying he wants more? I agree we could do with some squad depth in the wing positions and a creative centre mid but if I were a player under him I'd be a bit disheartened and lacking in confidence if I were brought in to play a role and then told 'but I still want more...we aren't pacey enough...we go with what we have but I'd like more quality... We can't afford to bring in those quality players that the other teams can' etc which are all uttered week on week. Just seems counter intuitive when you're trying to breed confidence, creativity and desire. I'm somewhere close to this viewpoint. The gaffer has constantly spoken about the need for width, and its understood that were in market for a winger. But on Saturday we didnt play one. Hard to see what impact a winger would make... I mean which roll would they pick up? Tip of a diamond, perhaps? However, it might just be that we were playing Wycombe and as such went for a physical team... either way- I think theres a mistake. - Saturdays team should not be our default formation - We should not be playing counter the opposition during game 2 of the season.

Even if I had, he's done little to make me think otherwise in his first 2 appearances. Just goes to show, maybe you should listen to Walsall fans after all. Nah, I'll stick to my own thoughts and opinion, but thanks for the advice. I thought Leahy was one of the positives today. There were loads but i thought each defender had a good game.

I’m waiting to see what the pro-Wael crew have to say in response. I’m sure it’s just a mis-understanding I'm not pro or anti Wael but my take on this is that there probably is a consortium - whether they are just investing or taking over is to be seen and they probably do have people flying in (although if they're a UK based consortium where are they all flying from?) - but whether it is to 'save' the deal or not is again up for debate. They could just be coming in to continue negotiations. The last bit I expect is just a personal throwaway comment by your source. At best it's just a personal comment- It's a threat... classless. I'm glad we have such lovely potential new owners...
