From today's Bristol Post "From what I understand Bristol Rovers will only be bringing in a new goalkeeper before the transfer window closes, due to financial constraints there are no plans to bring in other players" Having listened to DC's pre-match interview at lunch time that also gives a similar impression. Surely the funds for a new keeper are slocombes wages were saving so how skint are we? That's if Lincoln are paying the bulk of Slocombes wages.

He wasn't the ever present un-droppable last season. DC even preferred Bola for a few games. So him leaving suited both. James Clarke is proving at least as good and Holmes Dennis potentially better.

Highlights? what about the great saves their keeper made and the one cleared off the line. Ref had a very good view of the tackle, but it doesn't look any worse than the challenge on Bennett in the first half that didn't even get a yellow.

Smith 4 If Rovers had swapped keepers it would have been 3-1 home win
Leadbitter 6 Decent game but needs a midfielder who will cover back for him Lockyer 7 Steady game against a confident attack Craig 7 In his best position J. Clarke 8 If you thought we are missing LB think again
Bennett 7 Box of tricks but lacked a finish Upson 4 Anyone remember Robert Quinn? well he's back O. Clarke 6 Good game for 60 mins then he turned off Sercombe 6.5 OK but still not wide midfield
Nichols 8 Most skilful player on the pitch, I hope the Pompey keeper hasn't wrecked his growing confidence Payne 5 Expected a lot more
Subs: Lines 4 Red card cost Rovers 3 points, I'm sure we had Pompey on the ropes Jakubiak 6 Flashes of real promise Rodman 4 Replaced Nichols? was like going down to 9
Crowd 8 Exciting game roused the crowd Ref 5 Very lenient with the foul on Bennett. And the usual nit picky Portsmouth 8 Strong team with good head of steam with 100% start, not sure they will last the pace.
DC 6 At last two up front. Should have brought Broadbent on when Lines got sent off if he wanted to preserve a point.

On last nights display I thought JC looked a better player than Lee Brown, even out of position.

Assuming he plays, what would be the best right flank combination against him.

With the closure off the Supporters Club shop why don't the club arrange for tickets to purchased at a few local shops. Doug Hillard Sports would be one useful location.

The next three home games Portsmouth, Plymouth and Coventry seem to be Cat A games or whatever they're called in this electronic age. Now you would have thought Accy would have been a Cat C game. Or was last night one.

Can't see that many Crawley fans attending, likely in the sarf stand if they come. Pitch looks really good; testament to the work carried out on it in the break According to the club isn't the south stand closed, hence the question: "The North Terrace, West Terrace, West Stand and North West Terrace are the only areas that will be open for this fixture." Wonder if they are closing part of the ground because the new tents are being put up?

Anybody see Wael on Points West, a bit more assertive i think Development of the training ground will start by next season. Restrictions on information about New/ re-development of stadium. Didn't sound convincing.

I think pay at the turnstile is no longer available for any game. For Crawly they are not opening the East stand or enclosure, must be putting up the new gazebos, (sorry meant stands). You buy your ticket at the club shop, online, or on the night, the ticket shed. I notice Portsmouth tickets are not available yet

The team now has two undroppables, Lockyer and Craig, compared to four last season, so expect DC to change things even more now.

Slocombe 5 Two saves
J. Clarke 4+1 for the cross Lockyer 4 Loses man and concentration Broadbent 6 Thought he was ok, some decent one on one defending Craig 4 Loooks like it's one season to many
O. Clarke 4 In general it was a sideways midfield, bit like England when they played anyone decent Upson 4 Sercombe 3 Does he know he's meant to cover back when playing wide, their number 11 sussed that out
Rodman 4.5 Slightly better than the rest of the midfield Payne 6 could have won the game if he had some support Bennett 4.5 clever but no end finish.
Subs: Lines 4 Nichols 4 Matthews 4 DC 3 It was like watching a John Ward Team Crowd 3 Nothing to cheer them Ref Accrington 6 Made the most of their pressure

Does anyone know if the "bring a friend" and "free pasty/coffee" is being offered this season. I thought that when the new cards were announced. No idea fella. Cost of free pasties, (retail) £20k Cost of free pint £20k Cost of bring a friend £110k What do you reckon?

Last two opening games were 9,000+. They have sold 5,000 I think, season tickets, say a thousand online sale, 500 away fans, so 2,500 to 3,000 queuing. Anyone know if they have recruited any extra staff.

Its the magic f up in the corner Wonder what that stands for? I guess it's Flex Card. There's an account number + a 4 digit number under where the card is stuck on the letter, I take it that's not a pin. Seems pretty basic like a bus card

L2. Ish Miller signs foe Oldham. Remember, he was the one man army that ran Rovers ragged in the FA cup quarter Final against WBA. It was his one and only hat trick. Would have saved Yeovil if Johnstone had known how to handle him.
