No it wasn't, it was a backpass we was robbed! And to add insult to injury they (Ipswich) went on to win the cup that year Bastards! 1978 I believe, I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong? Bobby Gould scored, had it disallowed. Think Mariner got a late equaliser. Lost the replay 0-3

Crumbs from the table. Nothing for Locks and Ellis? Of course the top flights have the whole league program suspended, and it's unlikely many U21s will be in Premier starting lineups, who are not good enough for full caps.

It was a good interview but although luke james is a hard working player i just cant see him scoring many goals. One possibility about championship teams not being keen on taylor is lots of them play with only one out and out striker and matty dosnt appear to be suited to that. The Sh_t play with one striker.

The teds clearly didn't actually need Taylor given their transfer work up until this point. The whole thing genuinely reeks of Lansdown and Ashton sh**ting their pants because their season has fallen apart, the fans are on their backs and there was a genuine chance that we could finally be above them in the pyramid next year. It sticks in the craw that the traitor has gone to the teds but maybe we should see it as a compliment that the powers that be at the shitpit are that worried about us. Even though we're not their rivals apparently... The heat is well and truly off Lansdown and Johnson for a couple of weeks now and maybe Lansdown is hoping that will buy them time to start turning their collapse around. They've thrown enough money at the problem that is for sure. That's rubbish i'm afraid. We were desperate for a goalscorer and have got one at a very good price. 300k is peanuts these days in football worth the gamble. Taylor or Abraham, only room for one up front, Taylor is not a lone striker. At the end of the season if you stay up, you may have the option of keeping either but not both, Abraham will cost you say £8 mill, you will then find out if you are the same as us or not. Of course you could fund Tammy by selling MT for his true worth, bet there is no percentage sell on clause.

"No one will speak of Rovers any more" £300,000 is peanuts to him, and it's nowhere enough to save City. But it's pretty much guaranteed Rovers won't make the playoffs.

With Taylor gone should DC reconsider his decision on Easter, still think he's got 4 or 5 goals in him.

It if wasn't for us, he would still be in non-league. If it wasnt for taylor, wed still be non league! Taylors goals this season have put Rovers in a comfortable position. Would Oxford be above Rovers now if he had gone to them? Who knows if he will score in the Championship, might be difficult sitting on the bench. if he can't, he will be useful to them next season. If they lose tonight and Saturday, will they come after DC to get the best out of him. Wonder if Marcus Stewart told him what to expect as a Gas legend going to Trashton.

There's a X 10 clause if it's City.

There has to be quite a strong possibility that JCS has played his last game at Rovers given the depth we now have and Chelsea's wish for their players to be an automatic walk-up selection each week. I wonder if being in a relegation threatened team will be great for colketts game. Oh well, at least they play amazing Barcelona esque football. Maybe the EFL will realise how insipid possession football in your own half is truly the future of football & give swindle a reprieve if they go down? Was chatting to some Swindon fans after the game who said Sherwood always wants to play neat passing football in their own half, and the long ball is banned, no wonder DC played the Beard where he did.

4-5-1

Can't recall DC ever playing less than two up front, but in view of recent away form is it worth trying 4-5-1 with Sinclair, O Clarke, and Lines central midfield.

Sale Sharks have reported to the RFU that one of their players (former Bristol player) leaked confidential tactic information to one of his ex team mates during the game. Bristol came from 15-0 down to win 24 -23.

He must have noticed that the core of the team yesterday was the same as the one he helped get relegated.

If MT does leave, i'd not be unhappy to have John Akinde back here, obviously a different player to the one we saw who was allergic to scoring. Akinde? I think we've got our sights set higher than that. Does he have a get out clause?

Roos 5 Not his fault
Leadbitter 5 If he's going to be played that high up the pitch might as well play a proper winger J Clarke 4 Very rusty Lockyer 4 Seems to have no connection with other defenders. Capaintency affecting him? Hartley 3 Beginning to remind me of Adam Virgo Brown 4 I thought he was not good enough as a wingback in L1, but can't do it against non-league now.
O.Clarke 5 Decent second half Sinclair 5 Wouldn't have taken him off when there were so many worse Lines 5 Caught in posesstion to much, did cover back though
James 4 If this is Taylors replacement we're in trouble Gaffney 6 Goal and post strike gives him MOM
Harrison 5 Early impact, but that may have been due to half time talk. Montano 4 Up against a decent No2 Bodin 4 Back to off form.
DC 4 Half time subs show the opposition your rattled. Ref 8 For booking their player when it was stonewall penalty
Barrow 8 Wasn't anything as organised as them when Rovers were in Non-League
Crowd There's been a lot of goodwill for the last few games, but it's running out

Must be a given we'll be in for theirs soon, fits the standard striker criteria of playing well and scoring against us! Blissett and Cunnington would have looked good against wide open defence today.

I guess it's how keen the club are for the game to go ahead. Take Macclesfield for instance, their game against Barrow was called off on Tuesday, frozen pitch. Playing Oxford tomorrow in televised match. Three games in six days, damage to the pitch. Plus playing Barrow when they are well in form, much better to call it off. They are on a 22 match unbeaten run, I doubt they are suddenly lose form if we wait a week or two!! Regardless can DC really be frightened of playing a National League side on form or not? Plus we lose the TV money if the game is postponed. I meant Macclesfield were happy to call it off. Would much prefer to play a team who are confident to play open football.

I remember the Wolves game, but looking at the definitive history the defence was missing Aitkin and Day with only Taylor as a recogonised centre back.
