That game at Vale was truly dreadful.Radio Stoke said we were a team playing with no plan or formation. At the return game at the Mem' their commentators were very scathing about our ground.Up here Crewe are on a major downward spiral. Would be boring to support Man City wouldn't it? Football up here or in Bristol will always have its highs and its lows.Roll on Sat. NB.Never saw a worse player in the quarters in 60 years than Riordon.

What's happened to Barnet, I thought they were a decently run set up when Mad Dog was in charge. Some clubs get to a certain level with a good bunch of players but then hit a wall through lack of investment.

At York I almost felt ashamed. Good luck Barnet, will Akinde be playing in defence next week? UTG!

When McGhee first took charge our form was excellent wasn't it?
Didn't we have a couple of 5 goal wins and a 7-0 against Burton?
It was the following season after we sold Carayol that it was terrible.
He might just keep them up, but if I was Barnet I wouldn't keep him for the following season

We had some real managerial disasters back then, always seem to be "the name that everyone wanted" who signed for us.
Thankfully DC comes along and proves you don't need the big CV!

TBH McGhee's CV was questionabLe and wasn't my choice at the time. He is a lucky man. He has got jobs because of his name and Scotland was because he was pals with Strachan. Buckle was the real disappointment for me. I really felt confident he was a good appointment but he turned out to be a total car crash. I have to admit I totally ignored the Torquay fans who warned us.

I also remember the Graydon appointment, I was dead against that one as he only had done well at Walsall. Then he appointed John Still who he had never worked with and who I reckon in his own right might actually have done something but got shafted.......don't start me on Dave Penney!!

Hope you don't mind me popping back in after all this time, I just thought I'd see what your thoughts are on our new manager. I guess they are as good as I expected. Apart from having the same tendancy as mad dog to move players all over the place, is there anything else you are able to share about his style of play, formation etc?
What's happened is nothing to do with lack of investment. Our inexperienced manager has been unfortunate to lose 9 players through injury for the last 2 months, including 3 fairly expensive (by our standards ) strikers. Five of those players came back last weekend so there is some sympathy for Rossi that he didn't get a bit more time to turn it round.
Anyway all the best with the rest of your season.

Mr Mc Ghoo your new manager, enjoy the national league. Good luck by the way you will certainly need it.

Well barnet get low crowds and have been a yo-yo team between lge 2 and conference,do barnet fc now have the investment to push on into league 1? Mcghee had success early in his managerial career and nothing but failure in recent times. Good luck with him.

I could bore you to death with off field finances at the Hive and the £15m from the sales of Underhill, but I wont. I guess I will just have to hope McGhee doesn't screw up what is an excellent opportunity to reverse our current fortunes.

I went to barnet for the midweek game in the conference and have actually posted on here that the set up and commercial money making facilities at barnet are miles ahead of ours so fair enough. Why would an ambitious club get mcghee in though? something dosnt add up.
