I was thinking they should have appointed Allen before Westley. I'm sure he'll improve them but let's hope they haven't left it too late! What after he did the dirty on them. Five times is a joke, i bet their fans don't know whether to laugh or cry. But appointing him earlier or maybe now even could be the difference between being a league or non league team next season. I know which option I would choose. He's performed miracles there before.

They took great delight in our misfortunes in that conference season, their fans even started an effort to sponsor Ricky Modeste (he of the equaliser for Dover) the following season . Every club has it's morons but in Barnet's case there were a very vocal portion of their fanbase that seemed to see us as some sort of bitter enemy and I could never understand why so if they go down then good riddence. Crappy little non-league club with minimal support. They don't deserve to be in the EFL. Christ, their support is worse than Yeovile and Forest Gumps. For some reason they decided we were some sort of natural rival and developed an unreasonable dislike for us. Perhaps it was because their hero MA said on more than one occasion that he would jump at the chance of managing us. Anyway, I don't wish them well and hope they sink into perpetual non-league obscurity.

What's happened to Barnet, I thought they were a decently run set up when Mad Dog was in charge. Some clubs get to a certain level with a good bunch of players but then hit a wall through lack of investment. You could almost be talking about The Gas going from league 1 to The Championship there! The fact is with our historical setup and finances we are only ever capable of sustaining league 1 football with the occasional foray towards the top of the league. We then lose our better players and have to start again. DC has said that if we had kept The Snake and Billy we would have made the playoffs. I believe if he had been allowed to sign a couple of established players we would have got automatic this year. Hopefully the new ownership will provide the necessary finance which will mean we can at last move up the pyramid and have the financial support to sustain a higher level.

True. Akinde’s still there, too, who he clearly knows how to get the best out of.

Now would I rather see Barnet relegated or possibly FGR or Yeovil? Yes Barnet were vocal in what they said about us, just like we were about them. Of course there was stuff going on, we were going for one automatic place in that season. No one else was in with a shout that season, it was us or them, so of course there was stuff. Guess it’s a personal preference and I don’t mind Barnet so would be happy for them to stay up. And I don’t think they will ever be a threat to us so would be happy to see them survive. UTG!

In a way i was talking about us and many other clubs who historically get to a certain level and then hit a wall. What would be the necessary finance needed to give rovers a chance of establishing themselves in the championship which obviously would include a new or redeveloped ground? Its a frightening amount of money required imo.
