Your memory 2nd May is the same as mine, vulnerable!😀 As you say lots of Fergie connections with him and whatever, Fergie certainly never lost it as a manager whereas Magoo perhaps never had it!! UTG!

www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/barnet-mark-mcghee-bristol-rovers-1355796Former Bristol Rovers boss Mark McGhee has been sacked by League Two strugglers Barnet with Martin Allen appointed for a fifth time as they look to battle against the drop. McGhee, who took charge of 45 Bristol Rovers matches in 2012, had joined the club as head coach in November 2017 with the side 23rd in League Two. However, he was removed from that position when Graham Westley joined the Bees in January with McGhee becoming Head of Technical. Barnet are now bottom of the Football League with 30 points from their 38 points and they are seven points away from safety. Chairman Tony Kleanthos has turned to Allen in a desperate bid to save their Football League status with eight games left of the season. Allen will returns for a fifth time after departing the club in 2016 for a doomed role at Eastleigh. The decision to bring back Allen has seen Westley and McGhee leave Barnet with immediate effect. A club statement said: "Barnet Football Club can also confirm the departure of Head Coach Graham Westley and Head of Technical Mark McGhee with immediate effect. We would like to thank Graham and Mark for all their effort and hard work whilst at the club." Since leaving Rovers, the 60-year-old has had two other permanent roles other than his time at Barnet. The Scot took over at Motherwell after an almost three-year break from management in 2015. Prior to that McGhee was part of Gordon Strachan's Scotland coaching side as assistant manager.

I was thinking they should have appointed Allen before Westley. I'm sure he'll improve them but let's hope they haven't left it too late!

I personally don’t give a sh** about Barnet. Or is your logic that if Barnet manage to stay up then FGR or even Yeovile could go down? Now I like that logic.

It’s the fifth time he’s been appointed manager at Barnet, an incredible relationship. Now, I actually hope they avoid relegation. If they go out of the league it will be the third time they have, Halifax have gone out twice, no one else, I think, has done it more than once. UTG!

What's happened to Barnet, I thought they were a decently run set up when Mad Dog was in charge. Some clubs get to a certain level with a good bunch of players but then hit a wall through lack of investment. They have a better ground than we do

They have a better ground than we do No they don't. It's all covered, apart from the home end it is all seated. It has bars in every stand. It has a fitness centre and it has a restaurant, as well as a number of 3G pitches and a car park. I think those facilities outweigh open terraces, tents and food cabins.

We all knew exactly what was going to happen to Barnet as soon as they appointed that twat McGhee. We even warned those bees fans that came on our forum of what to expect from him. Totally useless and he should be ashamed to use the word manager to describe himself. When will clubs learn that some managers should never be looked at. I think Martin Allen will change Barnet's fortunes but it won't be enough to keep them up. Still, they can always add to the number of Conference promotions they already have, that is until the inevitable stress gets to Allen again and he walks away.

I’ve got no time for them, so feck em!

They took great delight in our misfortunes in that conference season, their fans even started an effort to sponsor Ricky Modeste (he of the equaliser for Dover) the following season . Every club has it's morons but in Barnet's case there were a very vocal portion of their fanbase that seemed to see us as some sort of bitter enemy and I could never understand why so if they go down then good riddence.
