We were arguably bigger than them by a whisker in the 50"s and for a short time maybe post 1982. Could we realistically be a bigger club than them in the reasonable future? bigger= higher average attendance equally good ground equal or higher league There average attendance was 19,256 last season They just paid 5.3 million pound for a player beating our record by £4,950,000 a sobering thought. The championship is becoming a mini premier league, they are in it and we are outside it. I know people hate them and all conversation on here about them is fantasy island stuff. But can we possibly overtake them? Or is that just plain impossible? hows the head this morning? A fry up is pretty good for a hangover😊Or another pint 🍻

We ban song titles in threads and yet we have to put up with this sh**! I don't care about the Ted wankers, feck em! I think every now and then BB actually likes to spark debate, IMO this is one of them. He asks a reasonably good question; simply put as long as Wael and the family are going to run the club sustainably we will struggle to match them. As long as the channel island tax dodging tosser is more than willing to pish hose money down the drain, we will struggle to match them. If we can continue to grow organically we will start to get into similar ground as them, that will get them well wound up and upset the egotistical maniac who funds them. Currently we can only dream

I don't believe it is just another WUM post, BB comes across as a Ted although I don't believe he is. I don't understand why he feels the need to try and rub everyone up the wrong way? I have no interest in the sh** whatsoever, unless they are fighting relegation again and we can have a good laugh at their expense.

I suggest the OP clears off to the otib forum ASAP! I personally don't care who is the biggest club in Bristol. I am a Gashead and could not care a toss about them. UTG!

FAO Port said Red, I couldn't be bothered to give a counter argument to threads like this, there is your response, enjoy another struggle this season and to more wasted money from the Tax dodger.

I think the OP asked a resonable question and wanted other people's opinion, isnt that what Forums are all about.
In answer to his post, I dont think we will get anywhere near the size of them in the next decade.
Wael's plan maybe the right plan but it wont be a quick plan in respect of growing the club.
The above is not about the playing results, its about the core size of the club.
To compare the two owners is not really possible as they both have different approaches to how they run their respective clubs. Evolution verses flashing the cash.
Personally I dont care how quickly our club grows as long as it does.

Oh yes, you can rest assured the above Shithead, or one of he other retards will be gleefully posting this onto the mammoth Gas thread on One Turd. They will w@nk each other off on this one for at least 2 pages.

A year in the Prem will decide things either way. It used to be obvious that it would eventually be City that got there (using the infinite monkey theory), but now, it's not obvious. They still have the edge of course, but if I were a neutral and had to bet on who would get there, now, I honestly don't know. Money goes a long way, but then so does having a clue.

Op, that's a bit like asking if the neighbors wife is better than mine bacause she has bigger boobs & nicer car.
I can't believe any fan would be asking these questions tho, doesn't make sense. BB you have to be a troll.

BB you have to be a troll. To be fair, he's only really asking whether she has bigger boobs. Everyone on here knows she's a dog.

I think the OP asked a resonable question and wanted other people's opinion, isnt that what Forums are all about. It should be. But a fair proportion of the posters on here, simply can`t cope with anything other than, " We`re by far the greatest team..." It just blows their circuits.

Not sure why most are giving BB grief, its a good question and a topic ive often thought about myself, and the answer is always "not in my lifetime".
Maybe Wael and family will help shorten the gap thing they are always banging on about, I have my doubts. They may only be one division from us but are light years ahead off the pitch and only a matter of time before they start improving on the pitch.
I remember winning the championship in 1990, I remember going to school in South Bristol as pretty much the only gashead and having bragging rights during the 80s. I'd love for those days to return. They have always had more money than us but not on the current level of spending.
Could well be a Port Vale v Stoke type rivalry soon. Too much talk and not enough action at this football club.

I think their chairman has proven that he will keep spending to fund the club. We are miles behind with no obvious sign of rapid growth to catch them. We are growing, don't get me wrong but not as quickly as them. We might get above them in the league at some stage but their club will remain bigger until one of 2 unlikely scenarios happen. Either SL dumps them or we fluke it to the prem. We would need 10 years on a higher division to grow the fanbase and reputation to challenge theirs imo.

Who cares? I understand that some do care if they are in Bristol and get it shoved in their faces all the time. But I guess you gasheads who live with it 24/7 must have developed a response to the other side when it's needed. Being away from Bristol they don't register with me. In the end if I spend time worrying about stuff I can't do anything about instead of enjoying stuff I can enjoy then I would be wasting time. And for the last three years I have enjoyed being a gashead! Mind you I still give a chuckle every time they lose. To answer the op, they are bigger than us but the pages on OTIB tell you how insecure they are and how important we are to them. But they know the gap is narrowing and they are finding it hard to cope with. Bless. UTG!
