My opinion is different to yours so I'm chatting sh**? Good one. And my opinion is that you're talking rubbish. Sorry, would you rather I say 'I beg your pardon good sir but pray may I differ in my opinion to you as I believe you are sorely mistaken in your conclusions' or perhaps you'd rather that people just don't express their opinion that your opinion might be wrong, as you would say, good one. and you sir are being a knob. the man is entitled to his opinion just as much as you

I was critiquing his opinion not stating he should not express it. Ironically it is he and you who seem to be implying that I shouldn't express my opinion because it criticises his or are we not allowed to criticise now? Oh and criticise my opinion all you like but personal abuse, really?

You could have the best striker in the world but if he's not getting the service from the rest of team he's not going to hit the 20 plus mark simple as There's no reason why both Gaffers and Nichols cant hit 30 plus goals between them given the right service from the rest of the team

Most of our strikers over the years have been ridiculed for one reason or another. Prior to our relegation to the conference, service to a long list of our strikers for 3/4 seasons was terrible. Also, aside from JJOT, we haven't had much joy with scoring midfielders.

I can't see it myself with Nichols, but hope you're right and I'm wrong. But could you see it wIth taylor?? He couldn't hit a barn door to start with. That's his point MT scored something like 7 in 7 games for Chester in the Conference before he joined us and never really stop scoring until he left us 2.5 years later, Pirate is right Nicholls has never been prolific goal scorer, having never scored more than 15 goals in the last 3 seasons, that's in teams who usually play attacking football so I'd be happy if he matched 15 goals again this season.

In The Conference. Pirate's argument was that Nichols has never scored more than 10 goals in a season at League 1 level. Matty Taylor had never scored more than 10 goals in a season at Conference level at the same age before he signed for us. In Matty Taylor's first season he scored 18 goals in 45 games. In the same season Tom Nichols scored 15 in 36 which is a better ratio at the level above at a younger age. I believe Nichols could get 20+

I also believe Nichols will get 20+.
Add in 10+ for Gaffers, 10+ for Bodin, 15+ for the rest of the midfield combined, 5+ for Ellis and we could be in for a good year.

In fairness nicholls goal scoring record is nothing fantastic which is clear from statistics. Im hoping hes an intelligent player that links well with other players and scores his fair share as well.

I think Nichols will go on to be one of DC's best ever signings.

I think Nichols will go on to be one of DC's best ever signings. Do you actually believe that w/o seeing him play for Rovers in a competitive game, or just posting that so you can refer back to it if he is a success?

Don't get me wrong we none of us know how Nichols will develop but that was kind of my point, to dismiss someone who has scored more goals than Taylor at a higher level than Taylor at a younger age than Taylor just prior to their joining us was, erm, well sh*te. I'd rather trust DC's judgement than someone who seems to post at the drop of a hat on here and has no inside knowledge.

Can we just get on and watch the up coming football please without dissecting every little bit of a players attributes. Until i see our new players over a few games i cannot judge if they are good or crap

Hope that is ok with you 😘

When he was with Exeter he was really highly rated and I believe he played really well against Liverpool and the commentator was raving about him.(I stand to be corrected on this) Like someone else said striking is not only about the player but the support he gets. The only thing that really worries me at the moment is that we have very few players with pace. Bodiun creates very little for others and mainly works for himself and Leadbitter produces about 1 decent cross in 10 and Browner probably 1 in 5. I would like to see two wide players come in as cover for both sides with Moore and Bodin.
