As the title of thread suggests DC is looking for 4 more players, you have to assume they'll bring some pace, although I assume Nicholls is more of an MT than Gaffers/Ellis type striker so he must have some pace?

I think Nichols will go on to be one of DC's best ever signings. Do you actually believe that w/o seeing him play for Rovers in a competitive game, or just posting that so you can refer back to it if he is a success? I think everyone on Gaschat knows the answer to that!!

I'm excited to see the winger we bring in after DC'S comments about "a left sided player who comes in onto his right foot" and "a left footed winger."
Any ideas about who the left footed winger who comes in onto his right foot might be?

No ideas pirate. I suspect most of us on here don't drill down to the level of detail you're talking about. We trust DC to do that. Do you have any suggestions or possible answers? UTG!

The only presumably affordable player I can think of off the top of my head is Corey Whitely. He isn't naturally left footed like DC now wants (although is comfortable on that foot), but he can play off the left and cut on to his right foot that DC spoke of initially. Harry Forrester is another in a similar mould, a right footed winger that can play on the left and cut inside.

It will be intresting to see who the other striker wili be can't see Godden signing Personally id like to see Doidge think we have more of a realistic chance of signing him than Godden plus he wont have to relocate

I also wonder if DC would try to sign him again after he turned us down to join Dagenham? He might be too expensive too. Personally I'd like Paddy Madden (but think he might also be too expensive), or Ivan Toney (loan), or maybe Bradley Fewster (free).

Intresting point of view you could say the same about the snake abilty to score in league 1 when we got promoted but he proved everybody wrong. Don't think there will be to many complaints from gas heads if we signed him Money won't be an issue he's not going to cost no where near as much as Godden and like I said relocation will be another key issue and a bartering tool should any other club be intrested in Doidge. As he's only up the road the relocation shouldnt be an issue plus he's actually going up another level in football than if he stayed with FGR Would he rather play for FGR in league 2 having played conference with the risk of them being relagated at the end of the season or play in league 1 no brainer really. The combination of him and Nichols would work really well as would him and Gaffers Only DC knows who he has in mind

They have already rejected a bid from Oxford.

Doidge looks a decent player and would offer us something different to our current strikers.
Not sure how much he'd cost but I think he'd fit in well at the Gas.
Would be very happy if we manage to bring him in.

Pirate, you do like Bradley Fewster having mentioned him several times. I would have thought that he would have been signed by now if he was on DCs list being available on a free. Do you know him, have you seen him and would he be a MT type of player or a larger No 9? Christian Doidge another good player but again not sure he's on DCs radar to be signed. Time will tell. I don't know where this idea that FGR will get relegated comes from. I suspect it is more a wish rather than an expectation. They will spend a bit of money if they're in trouble and they have a very good manager for league 2. I don't have this hatred of them that others do. Up until we got relegated I always looked out for their result wanting them to do well. Now they are it would seem a bit silly to wish them ill. For a village team they have done very well to get where they are. Lots of NL teams have had money but few have used it as well as them. I dont see them as a threat and don't really consider them at all but don't think they will go down. But as I've said several times I don't live in Bristol or South Gloucestershire now and perhaps I'd feel differently if I did. UTG!

And pirate, Forrester must be pretty good but is likely to cost more than DC would be prepared to pay perhaps. I always think DC spends money as if it were his and really likes to get players from lower down. It will be interesting and I think we are coming to that part of the close season when money will be more important than it was in May when most transfers would have been free. UTG!
